Thomas Edison was an American inventor born in 1847 who is famous for inventing the light bulb and electric vote counter. He had challenges in school and with his hearing but found success as an inventor, developing early technologies like the light bulb and phonograph despite facing difficulties getting his inventions to work properly. Edison conducted experiments in his home as a boy and went on to establish laboratories where he worked with other inventors to develop many world-changing innovations.
