Rapture Ready
Titus 2:11–14…For the grace of God has appeared,
bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny
ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly,
righteously and godly in the present age, looking for
the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our
great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for
us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify
for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for
good deeds.

The Blessed Hope
The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in
Christ and their translation together with those who
are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the
imminent and blessed hope of the Church.
To every man an answer
The word rapture is not in the original
manuscripts.
The Greek word is “harpazo” meaning
to catch away
Bibles were first written in Latin
Rapio is the Latin word for harpazo
Looking for Signs
Matthew 24:37–41…For the coming of the Son of Man
will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days
before the flood they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that
Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand
until the flood came and took them all away; so will the
coming of the Son of Man be.
Then there will be two men in the field; one will be
taken and one will be left. Two women will be grinding
at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left.
Rapture Road
Matthew 24:3–14…As He was sitting on the Mount of
Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell
us, when will these things happen, and what will be the
sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” 4 And
Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one
misleads you. 5 “For many will come in My name,
saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 “You
will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that
you are not frightened, for those things must
take place, but that is not yet the end. 7 “For nation will
rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and
in various places there will be famines and
earthquakes. 8 “But all these things are merely the
beginning of birth pangs. 9 “Then they will deliver you
to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by
all nations because of My name. 10 “At that time many
will fall away and will betray one another and hate one
another. 11 “Many false prophets will arise and will
mislead many. 12 “Because lawlessness is increased,
most people’s love will grow cold. 13 “But the one who
endures to the end, he will be saved.
14 “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the
whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then
the end will come.
Pre-rapture
1. False Christs,
prophets, teachers
2. Wars
3. International conflict
4. Natural disasters
5. Manmade disasters
6. Persecution and
martyrdom
7. Great falling away
8. Lawlessness
9. Loss of Christian love
10. Evangelism
Most obvious sign
2 Thessalonians 2:3–4…Let no one in
any way deceive you, for it will not
come unless the apostasy comes first,
and the man of lawlessness is revealed,
the son of destruction, who opposes
and exalts himself above every so-
called god or object of worship, so that
he takes his seat in the temple of God,
displaying himself as being God.
The spirit of antichrist is here
1 John 2:18…Children, it is the last hour; and just as you
heard that antichrist is coming, even now many
antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is
the last hour.
Jesus’ warning
Matthew 24:15–21…Therefore when you see the
ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through
Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place…then those
who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. Whoever is
on the housetop must not go down to get the things out
that are in his house. Whoever is in the field must not turn
back to get his cloak. But woe to those who are pregnant
and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
Jesus’ warning
But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on
a Sabbath. For then there will be a great tribulation,
such as has not occurred since the beginning of the
world until now, nor ever will.
Endurance of
the saints
But the one who
endures to the end,
he will be saved.
Matthew 24:13
A Wedding Promise
John 14:2–3…In My Father’s house are many dwelling
places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go
to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place
for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself,
that where I am, there you may be also.
Christ Coming for a
Faithful Bride
2 Corinthians 11:2…For I am
jealous for you with a godly
jealousy; for I betrothed you to
one husband, so that to Christ I
might present you as a pure
virgin.
Rapture
The Rapture
1 Corinthians 15:51–53…Behold, I tell you a mystery; we
will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment,
in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the
trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised
imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable
must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on
immortality.
Clarification
1 Thessalonians 4:13–18…But we do not want you to
be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep,
so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no
hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose
again, even so God will bring with Him those who have
fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the
word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain
until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those
who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself
will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice
of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the
dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive
and remain will be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall
always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one
another with these words.

What the rapture accomplishes
1 Corinthians 15:54–57…But when this perishable will
have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have
put on immortality, then will come about the saying
that is written, “DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory. 55 “O
DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR
STING?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin
is the law; 57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the
victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
What it means
Our bodies are like Christ’s
Death is defeated
Our sin problem is fixed
Victory
Our
Response
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved
brethren, be steadfast,
immovable, always
abounding in the work of the
Lord, knowing that your toil is
not in vain in the Lord.
We work ‘til Jesus comes
1. We work at building up the body of Christ
2. We share Jesus with others
3. We run the race knowing we win
