“Core” Experience - Exploring Less Obvious Design Approaches To Exercise Games
This presentation investigates the so far under-explored experiential potential of exercise games. It takes its departure from the observation that exercise games largely focus on simulating sports activities (e.g. snowboarding, surfing, dancing or yoga) instead of trying to model the experience of what it feels like to actually engage in these activities. The central hypothesis of this talk is that the experience of any kind of physical activity is never solely (or primarily) about the physical, tangible aspects of the activity but about how these aspects make us feel and think. Exercise games mostly
ignore this part of exercising, maybe assuming that by simulating the activity its mental aspects will happen by themselves. This presentation explores what is lost by this current design approach and what an alternative route could look like. By way of concrete, original design examples, new avenues of exploration for exercise games shall be sketched out and put forth for discussion.
These slides are about different philosophical ways of knowing. Knowing by senses, imagination, languages, emotion, etc. Hope this material will help you.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Creativity can be defined as the ability to see, feel, touch, think and

Creativity – the sudden cessation of stupidity.

14. Power of Ideas
Simplest idea, creatively and smartly executed, can differentiate the forgettable from the
memorable.
Ideas + Creativity = Logic + Magic.
You should only care about two things:
How to make the idea work and be relevant.
Ideas need to be the foundation for delivering creative solutions to business
problems.
Said another way, ideas are the foundation of any persuasive communication that
matters - internally or externally.

16. Don’t Let Execution Derail You
Even when strategy is clear, message can still be diluted if the
creative is too cute, too complex or just plain dumb.
The computer and software are just tools to enhance the idea and
message, not to compete with, replace, or screw it up.
Technology notwithstanding, be able to jot down your thoughts on
paper or the infamous cocktail napkin.

18. Creativity’s Way of Thinking
Don’t ever underestimate the power of your
mind or imagination.
In order to innovate or create, think
beyond the conventional.
To hell with the status quo (attitude)
Think Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (think in opposite direction)
Don’t be afraid to ask: “Why, why not, or what if?” . . .

Ask right kind of question to trigger curiosity
When faced with a dilemma, you tend to look

You can’t have success unless you’re prepared to have failure
Build failure into your culture as part of the process; don’t
ridicule it, but honor and embrace it.
Adopt Pixar Studio’s “SuckLess mentality”.
