- 2. Stars Stars are giant, luminous spheres of plasma. There are billions of them — including our own sun — in the Milky Way Galaxy. And there are billions of galaxies in the universe.

Introduction of Stars • Humankind has always been fascinated with the objects observed in the night sky , especially the stars. • Stars are cosmic energy generators that produce heat, light, and other forms of radiation. • Our early ancestors relied on them. On what crops they will plant and also to predict their future.
- 5. How star is born? • Stars are formed from giant clouds of dust and gas when a chemical reaction happened. • A Stars dies when it expands in to red , and super giant and finally run out of gas to burn.
- 6. Stellar Evolution • Stars are very dynamics. They undergo different stages of evolution from “birth” to “death”. This sequence of events occur within a time span encompassing billion of years. • Stars are born in interstellar clouds that are rich in gases and dusts. These thinly diffused clouds are called nebulae. In our galaxy , these clouds are mostly composed of 92% hydrogen , 7 % helium , and about 1 % other gases.
- 7. • At some point in time , some of these nebulae come closer to each other due of various factors. Then , the clouds contract. The initial potential energy is converted into kinetic energy and thermal energy. This causes a gradual increase in temperature and release of radiation. Then a protostar is formed.
