This document outlines seven major lies that can hold people back from being cheerful. These lies become beliefs over time if they are thoughts that are consistently repeated. The lies offer temporary comfort but ultimately harm happiness. Some of the major lies identified include thinking that others will change, procrastinating goals by saying "I'll do it one day", blaming a lack of time for inaction, thinking happiness depends on acquiring something, believing one is stuck and can't make changes, saying one is not ready when really one is afraid or uninterested, and believing one is not good enough. Overcoming these lies allows one to accept reality and feel free to pursue goals and happiness.
