Dr. John Oakes gave a presentation for the South Florida Church of Christ in Miami on 9/1/13 on answering the hard questions (the question of evil, the question of suffering and the question of hell). The power point is attached.
Dr. John Oakes taught a class on the commonly-held doctrine known as âOnce Saved, Always Savedâ, also known as Perseverance of the Saints. The class was taught in San Diego Nov. 6, 2014 at the Mission Center of Hope. The outline of the class was: I. Where did this doctrine come from? II. What proof-texts will the believer in this doctrine use? and III. What does the Bible teach on perseverance/falling away?
This presentation was given to the Clergy Retreat of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America, November 08-11, 2011, in Scottsdale, AZ. An in depth discussion of many of the Retreat topics can be found in the articles I have written, which are posted on: Orthodoxy Today [www.orthodoxytoday.org/archive/morelli] and the Antiochian Archdiocese [http://www.antiochian.org/author/morelli] website. The high technology, secularist society we live in today poses many challenges to living Christ's teachings, being committed to His Church, and living a Christ-like life family life. Even greater challenges are faced by the successors of the Apostles, the bishops and priests who are called to shepherd Christâs Church in the modern world. By the grace of the Holy Spirit, may this resource be of some assistance to all called to minister to our communities in Christ.
Dr. John Oakes taught a class on apocalyptic literature, including the Book of Revelation on six consecutive Saturdays beginning September 28 at the Mission Center of Hope in San Diego. The audio of this lesson is now available in the web site store. Go to the front page and click on EFC Store in the upper right hand corner of the page. A presentation given by Fr. George Morelli at the Society of St. John Chrysostom-Western Region (SSJC-WR) General Meeting, held at Prince of Peace Benedictine Monastery, Oceanside, CA on March 15, 2014.
John Oakes taught a two-part Introduction to the Old Testament for a group of new Christians in San Diego May 17 and 24, 2015. The first class serves as a general introduction as well as covering the Book of Genesis. Genesis is studied as a work of Christian theology-setting out the Christian world view and as a source of prophecy, prefigure and foreshadow of the Messiah. The second class finishes an intro to Genesis and covers Exodus to Deuteronomy, emphasizing prefigures and foreshadows in the story of Israel and in the laws, sacrifices, tabernacle and festivals.
This is a study of Jesus as the light of all mankind. This was the case in His pre-incarnate state in eternity. He was already the life and light of the world.

One of the first PowerPoints that I made when teaching theology. It is crazy. It has animations, links to further slides, and terrible graphics. But it is fun share and does give an accurate view of the history of Christianity. (Although the animations and links don't work in this slideshare.)
The Bible tells us,
"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth . . . The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament proclaims His handiwork." (Gn 1:1; Ps 19:2)
Creation is the foundation of Godâs saving plan and the beginning of salvation history which culminates in Christ (cf. CCC 280). Christian Faith teaches that all three Divine Persons act together as ONE GOD in creating, redeeming and sanctifying.

It is very important to call if you cannot make it to your appointment. The clinic and the parent decide on a rescheduled appointment time. The appointment will now take place a different day and the clinic will be able refill that time slot with another patient. Some clinics will not make any more appointments with people who have not shown up to scheduled appointments in the past. By calling and telling the clinic you cannot come will allow you to still make appointments at that clinic.
Saints are those who follow Jesus Christ and live their lives according to the Catholic teaching. They are holy men and women who have lived a virtuous and are enjoying eternal bliss in Heaven.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Â
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
âĸ The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
âĸ The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate âany matterâ at âany timeâ under House Rule X.
âĸ The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

3. Prayer - The Apostle's Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of
heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son,
our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius
Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He
descended into hell; the third day He rose again from
the dead; He ascended into heaven, is seated at the
right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence
He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I
believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
