- 3. The Patchbay is the central connection point for ALL audio equipment in the studio. Patchbays offer the convenience to quickly change the path of select signals.

- 16. TOS and RIB: • TOS = Top, Output, Send. • RIB = Return In Bottom.
- 17. Means no signal will flow through the patchbay without inserting a patch cord.
- 18. A normalled section automatically routes whatever is plugged into the top output of the patchbay to the input directly beneath.
- 19. This is essentially the same as normalled but means you can insert a patch cord into the output without breaking the signal flow to the input.
- 20. A patchbay set up in parallel allows you to split the signal. Whatever goes into the back input will be routed out of the front top and bottom and rear bottom.

- Otherwise we would have to patch in to create a signal path
- Feeds to external processing devices are normalled from the console aux outputs to rear mounted XLRs
- Two sets of 4 way parallels are provided. These are useful for paralleling a number of inputs.
