3. “THE PARABLE OF NATURALA AND POLITICTAKA =
NATURE VS. POLITICS”
I am about to, fearlessly and with great pleasure, tell you my favourite
story.
My accident of birth dropped me in Stoneya which was the capital
township in the Land of Naturala.
Q. Where did your planned or accidental birth drop you?
From day one, and for the rest of my life, I was branded as a Naturalian
or a Stoneyian.
Q. What were you branded as by your birth location?
Stoneya was the township where the King of Naturala lived with his wife
and their twin sons.
As was the custom in the land children were named during the last three
days before their fourth birthday.
Names chosen for the children were based on their main interest at that
time in their lives.
My number one interest was in telling tales and stories of all kinds and
that interest continued through the rest of my life.
Now that you know why my name is Tellia, you, along with all of the rest
of my friends, can call me Tel for short.
I want to introduce you to my two younger and best childhood friends
who happened to be the twin sons of the King and Queen of the Land of
Naturala.
1
4. #1 POLATICIA
Polaticia ( Pol for short ) was named for his interest in politics.
He was the first-born of the twin sons and therefore he felt
that, upon the death of his father, he would be the new King.
He was known as a “daddy’s boy” even though he was not very much like
his father.
( “only 5% of boys are “daddy’s boys” )
He and his father argued a lot of the time and yet they managed to
maintain a great deal of respect and positive regard for each other.
Words used to describe Pol were:
Bully, egotist, arrogant, self centered, controlling, manipulative,
aggressive, abrasive and irresponsible.
He, unlike his father, never recognized the part that his own choices and
decisions played in bringing about the negative or positive outcomes in
his life.
He often said to himself:
“Why does this and that always have to happen to me?”
He blamed others for the negative outcomes in his life and, therefore, he
didn’t learn from his mistakes.
He was also unable to take credit for the positive outcomes in his life
which caused him to be quite unhappy for his entire lifetime.
2
5. Due to his early developed skills, abilities and interest in
politics he was recognized as a natural born politician.
He, unlike most people new to politics, did not require any special
training in power, control, manipulation, confrontation or debate.
He was very strong willed and managed to get his own way
with almost everyone, especially if they showed any signs of fearing him.
3
6. #2 NATURIA
Naturia ( Nat for short ) was named for his interest in nature and, of
course, he was the second born twin son of the King and Queen.
Being very much like his mother he was known as a “momma’s boy.”
( “95% of boys are “momma’s boys” ).
Words used to describe him were:
Compassionate, caring, supportive, kind, thoughtful, trustworthy, giving,
generous and responsible.
Like his mother, he never blamed others for his mistakes and always
acknowledged the part that his own choices and decisions played in
bringing about the negative and positive outcomes in his life.
He was able to learn from his mistakes and enjoyed taking full credit for
all of his positive outcomes.
For those reasons he was a very happy individual throughout his entire
life.
I want you to know that I was very pleased and honoured when the King
asked me, early in the lives of the two boys, to be a second father,
teacher and advisor to them.
4
7. OUR CAMPING TRIPS:
At least four times a year the King managed to take a break
from being the King and just be a father taking his boys and I on
hunting, fishing and camping trips.
We would go to the king’s favourite camping place deep in the forest half
a day’s horseback ride West of Stoneya.
There were all kinds of birds and wild animals in and around the camp
site.
The site was located on the shore of a beautiful lake that provided plenty
of fish to be caught, cooked and eaten.
It was a safe and well known camping place that the King had used for
many years.
The boys and I greatly enjoyed those camping trips.
During the trips the King taught us all that we would need to know to
survive in the forest.
Both Pol and his father liked to hunt and would kill some of the animals
just for sport or as a contest between the two of them.
Nat and I disliked the hunting and killing of animals just for sport and,
as a result, we were unable to bring ourselves to eat the meat from those
animals.
5
8. THE LAY OF THE LANDS:
At this point in the story I will share some information about the lay of
the land and about some of the events that were taking place in and
around the lands.
Bordering on the Land of Naturala was the Land of Politictaka.
Running between the lands and providing a natural boundary was a
beautiful, wide, shallow and slow moving river with a firm sandy flat
bottom.
The river was called “The Sanbotia River”.
There was a small island located in the up-stream northern part of the
river and a much larger island in the down-stream southern part.
There were beautiful lush green grass meadowlands on both banks of the
river and, together, they were known as the Battle Meadows.
As far back as could be remembered conflicted leaders and their warriors
had held battles on the meadows.
Either side might be victorious but both sides would suffer many
casualties.
The victorious warriors would then go into the townships of the losing
side to rob, pillage and plunder its citizens ruthlessly.
6
9. EVENTS TAKING PLACE IN NATURALA AND POLITICTAKA:
( Beginnings and Endings = Gains and Losses )
The Kings were making preparations for an unpopular battle to take
place on the Battle Meadows in four days.
The King of Politictaka was the aggressor having bullied the King of
Naturala into the battle that none of the people or warriors on either side
wanted.
The King of Naturala realized that if the other King were to win this battle
he would impose taxation and regulations on his people.
The King of Politictaka and the members of his court and council had
been taxing, regulating and gaining personal profits from their own
citizens for many years.
The people of Naturala had a well developed system of barter that,
without the use of money, was free, equal and effective for all.
Their social system was one that encouraged the people to take the best
possible care of themselves, their families and
neighbours.
They managed to keep themselves as healthy as possible, un-addicted,
out of trouble, clean, safe and without dependency on any major costly
bureaucratic government regulated programs that required the need for
taxation.
The other King, if he and his warriors were to win the battle,
would put the people from the various tribes of Naturala in
disuniting reservations and take away their independence,
property, religion and culture.
7
10. United they could stand but disunited they would fall.
Unlike other past relatively minor battles this one was
considered to be a major battle because of its profound
consequences for the people of the Land of Naturala.
8
11. THE RAVEN VISITS THE KINGS IN THEIR DREAMS:
Three nights before the day that the battle was to take place
the two leaders had similar dreams.
In the dreams a raven flew into each of their bedrooms, landed on the
footboard of their beds and said to them:
“If you go into this unpopular battle you will not return home alive or
dead.”
Both Kings laughed at the raven in their dreams and said:
“Who are you to tell me of such things and where do you come from?”
The raven said:
“Being the dark raven, I come from the dark side of divinity where I was
taught to see, understand and foretell the events of the future.”
The King of Naturala went on to say:
“If what you have foretold should come to pass, I will have to make
arrangements for one of my twin sons to replace me as
King.
I would like to hear your advice on this matter.”
The raven offered it’s advice and recommendation saying:
“We must plan a competition between your twin sons and you will have
to share the details of it with their mother, before you go into this battle.”
9
12. The raven went on to say:
“The boys will have to attempt to gain the favour of their mother because
she will be appointing the winner of the competition as the new King.
Both boys will have to take three trips into the forest, return to attend
separate meetings with their mother and share with her what they will
have learned from their trips.
They will also give her the gifts that they will have gotten from each trip
in an attempt to please her and gain her favour.”
Once the message and recommended plan had been given to the King in
his dream, the raven flew back to the dark side of divinity.
The King, as the raven had told him to do, held the meeting with his wife
to share the plan with her saying that:
“Nat must make his first trip up the northern path to the Y, take the
branch to the right, go up that path to a point at which he would feel was
the best place for him to turn to the right and go deep into the forest.
Then he is to continue toward the Battle Meadows and the river in order
to find what would be in store for him on his first trip of the
competition.”
The King also told his Queen that the raven had said:
“On Nat’s second and third trips he is to go up the path to the Y and, on
those trips, he is to take the branch to the left, go up the path to a point
that he will feel is the right place to go left and enter the forest.”
10
13. The King went on to say:
“Pol must make three trips up the northern path to the Y, take
the path to the right, go down that path through the forest to
the Battle Meadows and the river.
Once at the river he must cross it and continue his trips to the
capital township of Oddia, where the King’s castle is located, in the Land
of Politictaka.”
Pol’s father knew that he was very much like the King and, because of
that, he would find a place where he would be accepted and appreciated.
Once he could manage to gain the acceptance and support of the
members of the past King’s court and council he would be able to seek
his fame, fortune, and future in politics.
Pol’s father also knew that in order for him to realize his political
objectives and goals he would have to marry one of the King’s daughters.
His father was aware of the possibility that if Pol married one of the
King’s daughters as a result of his first trip his part in the competition
might come to an end.
11
14. THE BATTLE ON THE MEADOWS:
In spite of what the raven had said to them both Kings chose to go into
battle anyway.
The battle started with them on their horses entering the Sanbotia river
from each side of the Battle Meadows.
Their warriors held back on the banks of the river leaving the
two of them to charge at each other in the middle of the wide, shallow
and slow moving river.
Just before their first and only contact the raven flew in front of and
between their horses causing both Kings to be distracted.
As the raven had foretold they mortally wounded each other at the
moment of contact.
The river ran red with their blood.
Their horses carried them back to the banks on each side of the river.
They both fell from their horses to the ground and died.
Upon seeing the deaths of both Kings, at the same moment, the warriors
on each side lost their desire to continue with the unpopular battle and
they returned to their homes.
Five of the top warriors on each side stayed behind to bury their King.
12
15. They built monuments over the graves as reminders to future
kings, leaders and warriors to never allow a battle between these two
lands to take place on the meadows again.
Both Kings had the strongest and most beautiful horses ever known in
both lands.
One King’s horse was a stallion and the other’s was a mare.
The horses were set free in the meadow where they and their offspring,
over time, developed into a very large herd of
magnificent and sought after wild horses.
13
16. THE LAY OF THE LAND AND THE EVENTS TAKING PLACE IN
POLITICTAKA:
The Land of Politictaka was on the east side of the Sanbotia
River.
Oddia, the capital township, was a one-day horseback ride east of the
river.
It was the place where the King lived in his castle with his two daughters.
The raven had, as you recall, talked with the King in his bedroom three
nights before the battle was to take place saying to him:
“If you go into this unpopular battle you will not return home alive or
dead. ”
The raven went on to say to the King:
“You have no sons to become the next King.
I recommend that you prepare the members of your court and council to
accept and groom Pol, from the Land of Naturala, to become the next
King.
They will have the opportunity to meet and groom Pol when he comes to
Politictaka and the township of Oddia seeking his fame and future in
politics.”
The King, doing as the raven had told him to do, held a
meeting with the members of his court and council to share
the plan with them.
14
17. THE TWO DAUGHTERS OF THE KING:
#1 Detailia:
The King’s first born daughter was named Detailia
( Det for short ) because she loved detail.
She had remarkable skills, abilities and interests in the detail of
organizing major events.
She also desired to schedule the details of other people’s lives.
Det was known as a “daddy’s girl.“
( 95% of girls are “daddy’s girls” and 5% are “momma’s girls” )
She was very much like her father.
The words used to describe Det and her father were:
Powerful, controlling, self centred, egotistical, arrogant and
manipulating.
Det’s attention to detail gave her the opportunity to exercise her desire to
overpower, control and manipulate others.
She eventually overpowered her father and tried to schedule most of his
activities while he was alive.
Det, like her father, never accepted the part that her own decisions and
choices played in bringing about the negative outcomes in her life.
She was, like Pol, always asking herself:
“Why does this and that always have to happen to me?”
15
18. She always blamed others for her mistakes.
She never learned from her mistakes, couldn’t take credit for the positive
outcomes in her life and, because of all of this, she was very unhappy for
most of her life.
Det could explain exactly what manipulation is, saying:
“The ability and desire to get others to do what you want them to do
without their being aware of what it is that you are
doing.”
16
19. #2 MELLODIA:
The second born daughter of the King was named Mellodia ( Mel for
short ) because of her musical talents and lovely singing voice.
Mel was exceptionally beautiful, attractive and, along with her wonderful
skills and abilities to both write and play outstanding music, she was a
very desirable young girl.
Words used to describe Mel were:
Generous, giving, creative, imaginative, loving, talented, caring, graceful,
humble and forgiving.
On the negative side, the Queen had died while giving birth to Mel.
The King, mistakenly, could not forgive her for her mother’s death.
As a result, Mel was neither a “daddy’s” or “momma’s girl.”
On the positive side, she was free to fulfil her desires, interests and
establish her own identity as a wonderful singer and entertainer.
She was successful in developing a large group of followers in both Oddia
and Stoneya as she sang and entertained during special events
throughout both Naturala and Politictaka.
Mel always acknowledged how her own choices and decisions
contributed to and brought about the positive and negative outcomes in
her life.
17
20. She never blamed others for her mistakes, always learned
from them, and she was able to take credit for the positive outcomes in
her life.
As a result, she was, for all of her life, a very happy individual.
Unlike most people Mel, as a free spirit, could travel easily in and around
all of the townships of both lands without losing her identity.
Most people for fear of losing their identity or being strangers to others
couldn’t go away to places where others would not know who they were
by their family name or history.
Both Det and Mel, along with all others born in the Land of Politictaka or
living in Oddia, were branded as Politictakians or Oddians.
18
21. Now that you have a good understanding of Pol‘s, Nat‘s, Det’s and Mel’s
family lives and backgrounds, the time is right to share some general
thoughts about:
THE OVERTHROW OF ONES’ PARENTS:
The girls must try to overthrow their mothers who are seen as obstacles
and/or authority figures in their lives.
The boys must do the same with their fathers.
Both girls and boys are, through their attempts at
overthrowing their parents, trying to establish their own identities and
individuality separate from their parents.
In the case of Nat, Pol, Det and Mel the overthrows of their parents had
taken place through their deaths.
In a way, they had been cheated out of the opportunity to overthrow their
parents at the appropriate time in their lives.
When the parents die before their overthrow it can give the children the
feeling of having unfinished business.
They may try to overthrow other adult authority figures later in their
lives as an attempt to satisfy the feelings related to the unfinished
business.
They will have to deal with their unfinished business at some time in the
future.
The overthrow of one’s parents can be attempted in both positive and
negative ways.
19
22. The following are two specific examples of how young people deal with
the overthrow of their parents.
1. Young people who choose to overthrow their parents in ways that are
negative and self destructive, will try to:
Out drink, drug, smoke, blame, gamble, argue, curse, steal, cheat, etc.
their parents. ( generation after generation ) + any excuse will do.
Their intended and/or unintended outcomes are to bring shame upon
themselves and their family name.
Unless they can turn themselves around, they will have few
rewards in their lives, only like minded friends and they will be most
unhappy.
2. Individuals who decide to overthrow their parents in ways
that are positive will try to become better:
Educated, kings, queens, sons, daughters, wives, husbands, parents,
workers, preachers, teachers, singers, artists, etc. than their parents.
They will not blame others and/or their parents for the negative
outcomes in their lives. ( no need for excuses )
Their intended positive outcomes are to bring honour to themselves and
the family name.
They, by doing the right things in and throughout their lives, will benefit
the most in life, have like minded friends and will be the most happy.
20
23. THE LAY OF THE LAND ON MYIA ISLAND:
Now, it is time for you to know about Myia island.
It is the small island located in the up-stream, northern part of the
Sanbotia River.
It also became the place where my eventual wife and I built a travelers’
inn which we named “Innspire“.
EVENTS THAT WERE TAKING PLACE ON MYIA ISLAND:
In my late teens I took a wife named Diversifia ( Div for short) because
she was a very capable and diversified individual.
We went to the small island that I named Myia Island.
It was the perfect location to build a large comfortable travelers’ inn with
a hot tub, pub, out-buildings and a self sustainable animal and organic
produce farm.
Developed in the surrounding area of Innspire was a horse
stable, vegetable garden, winery and a large stocked fishing pond.
The project was designed with the ability to supply the required
recreation, entertainment, food and lodging for as many as thirty guests
at a time.
At the north end of the island I diverted water from the river so that a
small stream was made to run next to Innspire.
The stream supplied water for the stocked fish pond, hot tub, indoor
plumbing, and irrigation for the farm.
21
24. The small island was a one day horseback ride east of the township of
Stoneya, in the Land of Naturala, and a one day ride west of the capital
township of Oddia, in the Land of Politictaka.
Innspire became a central stopover place for travelers from both
townships and lands.
I had chosen the island location knowing that travelers from the
townships would be staying the night during their travels from one land
and township to the other.
Innspire provided a neutral place for the guests to tell and share their
stories and news from both townships.
The only rule was that anything of a personal nature that was done or
said on the island would stay on the island.
Nat and Pol came to Innspire at separate times to stay for the night
before and after each of the intended three trips of their competition.
My wife and I wrote up anonymous, general interest and weekly
bulletins.
The bulletins included the news, lists of upcoming events and stories
provided by the guests from both lands and their townships.
We wrote up and distributed the bulletins without breaking the one rule
of Innspire.
Both Pol and Nat, and of course all of our other guests, had a great
appreciation for the food, lodging, entertainment, advice
22
25. and news that Div and I were able to share with them during their stays
with us.
Div was a wonderfully creative, sensitive, talented and devoted wife who
played music and had the ability to write poetry and lyrics.
She was also a fine cook and a very good farmer.
Div was a great asset to Innspire, to me and to all of our guests and
friends.
23
26. Nat’s first trip of the Competition:
After staying for the night at Innspire, Nat followed his
instructions and got to the point on the path where he felt it
was the right place to enter the forest to his right.
As he went into the forest he began to feel smaller and smaller because
of the awesome grandeur of the forest and nature.
The farther he went into the forest the smaller he felt himself
to become.
As he made his way deeper into the forest he left his markers, as his
father had taught him on their camping trips, so that he could return
safely back to the path when his trip would be coming to an end.
As the first day was coming to an end and the night was beginning, Nat
found a good spot for a camp site, collected some dry wood and started a
fire to cook his evening meal before it got too dark.
It was very dark by the time he finished his meal and sat back to relax
and enjoy the heat of the fire before going to sleep for the night.
He began to think about his father’s death, how much he missed him,
and was wondering if perhaps some degree of closure might be the
reason behind this first trip.
The camp fire crackled and created a circle of light in the darkness.
Nat could see the reflection from the fire in the eyes of some
animals who were in the dark just beyond the edge of the circle of light.
24
27. The animals were watching Nat to see if they could gain
enough trust in him to come out of the dark into the circle of
light and talk with him.
They did see that he was young, of a quiet nature, innocent, non-
aggressive, trustworthy and very much like themselves.
One of the bears and a squirrel thought, as many people do, if you are
like us you must be OK.
When they were satisfied that Nat could be trusted not to bring harm to
them, the squirrel and bear came out of the darkness into the light and
the bear said:
“Of all the animals whose eyes you have seen reflected by the light of the
fire we are the only ones who were actually at the Battle Meadows to see
both of the Kings mortally wound each other and die.
At that point Nat decided to tell them who he was and all of the details
that had led him to the forest on that day.
Once the bear and the squirrel knew that Nat’s father was the past King
of Naturala they said:
“We went out onto the meadow from the safety of the forest and because
of all of the confusion on the part of the warriors, related to the death of
both Kings, we were able to take and hide your father’s sword and ring.”
The squirrel went on to say:
“I hid the ring in the same place that I store my food for the winter and
the bear hid the sword under an old fallen rotten tree trunk.”
25
28. The two of them, in agreement, said:
“Tomorrow morning we will take you to the monument where your father
is buried so that you can see it for yourself.
Then we will get his sword and ring to give to you for their
return to your mother in hope that you might please her and gain her
favour.”
The next morning, very early after breakfast, the three of them set out
through the forest for the meadow and the monument.
When they arrived at the monument Nat was so overcome with emotion
that he began to cry, grieve and mourn over the grave and death of his
father.
After a time Nat was able to regain his composure.
At that moment, he began to understand what it meant to have
unfinished business.
He had blocked the emotions inside himself as an attempt at denial and
to avoid the pain associated with his father’s death.
He had created the unfinished business back at home by not crying,
grieving or mourning at the exact time that he heard of his father’s
death.
Emotions had come up, at that earlier time, and feeling that he was
about to lose control he panicked and swallowed them.
Now he was relieved to realize that, finally, on this day he had
gotten, at least, some degree of closure related to his father’s death.
26
29. Upon leaving the meadow and going back into the forest the
bear retrieved the King’s sword from its hiding place.
The squirrel also brought out the ring from the place where he stored his
winter food.
The two of them carried the sword and ring back to the path where they
could give them to Nat once he felt himself to be
large and strong enough to handle them.
When he had taken them in his hands a surge of power came over him.
He realized that he was gaining strength and maturity as a result of the
things that he was experiencing on this first trip.
He turned to thank the bear and squirrel but he found that because of
the changes in himself he had lost the ability to talk with them.
At that moment Nat understood why he and others tend to resist change.
Change brings personal gains and losses with it.
Nat was now seeing his life as a journey with many steps and stages of
development.
He was starting to understand a little more about life.
He was beginning to look forward, with anticipation, to the next two trips
that would, hopefully, bring even more positive experiences and changes
in his life.
27
30. With the ring and sword in hand Nat headed down the path toward home
gaining more confidence and excitement with each step.
He came to Innspire, stayed for the night, and told Div and me all of the
details of his trip and what he had learned and experienced.
The next morning he again headed down the path for home.
His mother met him when he first returned from his trip before their
formal meeting and said to him:
“I can see that some wonderful changes have taken place in you as a
result of your first trip.
I am anxious to hear the details of what you have learned and
experienced.”
In the formal meeting with his mother he told her of all that had
happened, what he had learned and he presented her with the gifts of
the ring and sword that had belonged to her husband.
The ring had been used by the past King to seal letters and documents.
The seal served as his signature and had the power to keep the wrong
people from opening whatever was sealed with it.
The return of the King’s sword was important to both Nat and
his mother because it, also, served as a symbol of power and authority.
His mother was pleased to hear his story and to have the ring and sword
returned.
28
31. She put them in their proper place on the mantel over the fire place in
the castle for all of her guests to see.
When the King was killed and buried on the Battle Meadows, of course,
his wife, Nat, Pol and the members of the council couldn’t attend a
proper funeral for him at that time.
Without a funeral the significant people affected by his death didn’t have
the opportunity to gain a sense of completion or closure.
Whenever anyone looked upon the ring and sword in the castle and
heard the story of Nat’s trip that gave them, at least, a little of the closure
that they needed.
Nat was not only gaining the favour of his mother but, also, some
support, respect, and positive recognition from the members of the past
King’s council.
29
32. POL‘S FIRST TRIP OF THE COMPETITION:
Pol came to Innspire, stayed the night, and in the morning after
breakfast he started up the path.
Following the instructions he went to the Y in the path, took the branch
to the right, went through the forest to the Battle Meadow and the river,
across the river, and continued on to the capital township of Oddia, in
the Land of Politictaka.
His arrival in Oddia caused quite a stir.
Once the members of the dead King’s court and council knew that he
was in town Pol received an invitation to a top-level meeting with them.
After speaking with Pol for only a short period of time they knew that he
would not require grooming in order to perform well at a high level of
politics.
They made sure that Pol would have the opportunity to meet with, and
possibly court, the two daughters of the past King.
He had already seen Mel and had heard her sing when she
was entertaining and singing in his home town of Stoneya.
Unknown to Mel he had fallen in love with her but he hadn’t actually
courted her at that time.
Now he thought surely he would be able to impress her enough, while
courting her, that she would also fall in love with him.
Unfortunately the courtship was a disaster.
30
33. Mel realized when being courted by Pol that he was exactly like her
father and she expressed a deep hatred for him.
Broken hearted, Pol had to settle for Mel’s older sister Det.
Det thought during their courtship that Pol was wonderful precisely
because he was so much like her father and she fell madly in love with
him.
In a short period of time, in spite of the fact that Pol still loved Mel, he
and Det were married.
They were both looking forward to the time when Pol might be crowned
the new King of Politictaka and Det could be his Queen.
Det tried, as she had done with her father, to control and
schedule all of Pol’s activities now that he was, probably, going to
become the new King.
Pol had to make sure that she was kept busy with controlling other
people’s lives and being caught up in the details of organizing special
events.
He couldn’t let Det interfere because he didn’t want fear to enter into the
kingship of Politictaka.
Not yet being King, Pol decided to make the trip back to Stoneya for the
meeting with his mother to talk to her about the results of his first trip.
He still felt, since he was not yet the King of Politictaka, that he would
like to be considered for his late father’s position as the King of Naturala.
31
34. He also wanted his mother to meet and, hopefully, like his new wife Det.
His gift for his mother was that he could teach her about the values and
all of the concepts of taxation and regulation, as applied to the citizens of
Naturala.
His mother was furious with him and Det because of what they thought
was a suitable gift for her and she said:
“My people would rather die than give up their barter system
for the use of money from taxation and regulations.”
Pol must have forgotten that his mother was quite aware of
conditional, consequential and toxic gift-giving.
She much preferred non-consequential gift-receiving without
manipulation, conditions, or strings attached.
She didn’t care for Det’s attitude and her attempts at controlling their
meeting and she told both of them to leave Stoneya.
Pol was beginning to see that he was not likely to be gaining
his mother’s favour now or in the future.
Right then he decided to give up trying for the position of the King of
Naturala and concentrate his efforts on becoming the new King of
Politictaka.
Det was pleased with the negative outcome of the meeting.
She wanted more than anything to be Pol’s Queen of Politictaka so they
returned home to Oddia.
32
35. Nat’s Second Trip:
Nat came to Innspire, stayed the night, and after breakfast he
began to follow the instructions for his second trip.
He went up the path to the Y and took the branch to the left.
When he felt he was at the right place he entered into the forest to his
left.
He again had the feeling of becoming small.
From his first trip he had gained some degree of confidence about being
alone and on his own in the forest.
Using his markers along the way, for his safe return, he went deep into
the forest to a place where there was a very high hill
that rose above the top of the forest.
He made his way to the top of the hill.
Never having seen the forest from above it he was amazed to be able to
see over the top of the forest and clearly to the horizon in all directions.
He was standing there on the top of the hill enjoying the
experience of having discovered a new point of view.
At that moment a white dove flew down from above and
landed on his left shoulder saying to him:
“My father has sent me from the light side of divinity to be a sacrifice for
you because he knows that your (nature’s) survival means more than
anything else on earth.”
33
36. The dove went on to say:
“You must have me for your meal.
When you are preparing me for your meal you will find three seeds inside
of me.
You must plant the three seeds in the proper places that I have marked
out, twenty feet apart, in a row, on the top of this hill.
Planting the three seeds in that row will place their trees in a perfect
alignment with the sun, moon, stars and the universe.
Because of that alignment they will grow to maturity faster than anyone
could possibly imagine.
When you have finished your meal and have planted the seeds
you will fall asleep.”
When Nat had completed all that the dove had spoken of he
did, instantly, fall into a deep sleep.
When he woke from his sleep he didn’t know if he had slept for minutes,
weeks, months or years.
The trees had become fully mature and were covered with their beautiful
large and matching apples, peaches and pears.
Nat made a basket of reeds and began to pick enough fruit to fill the
basket.
To his amazement every time he picked a piece of fruit from one of the
trees it was immediately replaced on the tree.
34
37. Further to his amazement when he took a piece of fruit from his basket it
was immediately replaced in the basket.
Three days later when Nat was leaving the top of the hill he looked back
and saw a white dove flying up into the sky.
He thought that it must be the same dove returning to the light side of
divinity to be, once again, with it’s father.
Nat made his way through the forest following his markers back to the
path and with the basket of fruit in hand he started for home.
He came to Innspire on his way home and told Div and me all that had
happened on this his second trip.
He made a small basket for us and put an apple, peach and
pear from his basket into ours.
When we took a piece of fruit from our basket it was
immediately replaced.
From that day forward we made small baskets for all of our guests and
they, in turn, made baskets for all of their friends with the same results.
Nat also mentioned that when he was on the top of the hill and a
pleasant light warm breeze was blowing he could hear singing coming to
him on the breeze from his right side.
The song and voice were so beautiful that if all of the fish in the river
could speak their words alone could not describe it.
The next morning, basket in hand, Nat started down the path heading
toward Stoneya.
35
38. Going down the path he was thinking that on his third and final trip into
the forest he would like to try to find where the singing was coming from.
As soon as his mother saw him she said:
“Even more remarkable and easily noticeable changes have taken place
in you as a result of your second trip.
When I look at your face and into your eyes I can see that you have
become more spiritual, full of grace, understanding, peaceful, and loving
than you were before this trip.“
Nat, regarding the changes, told his mother what the white dove had
said:
“When you have eaten of my flesh and hence tasted my blood during the
sacrificial meal you will take on my attributes, characteristics and
behaviours.
Furthermore, your offspring and theirs’ until the end of time will, also, be
filled with peacefulness, grace, understanding and love.
You and the offspring over the years will be looked upon by my father
and me as being like us, therefore OK, and all may come to live with us,
some day, in the light side of divinity.”
Nat gave his mother the basket of fruit and told her all of the details of
his second trip.
She was extremely pleased to hear his story and, especially, pleased to
have the basket of endless fruit as his gift for her.
36
39. She was quite surprised to see that the fruit was immediately replaced
when she took some of it from the basket.
When guests came to visit she would show them the sword and ring and
tell them the story about his first trip.
Then she would tell them the details of his second trip and
make small baskets of fruit as gifts for her guests.
The only condition connected with receiving their baskets was that they,
in turn, would have to give baskets of fruit to all of their friends and tell
them the story of Nat’s second trip.
Nat felt that he was gaining the favour of his mother along with the
favour and positive support from all of the new friends who had been
given the gift of unending fruit.
37
40. POL RETIRES FROM THE COMPETITION:
Pol didn’t have to comply with anymore of the instructions of the
competition because after the first meeting with his mother he realized
that he was not going to be given any consideration for becoming the
king of Naturala.
Staying in Oddia, both Pol and Det realized their goal of becoming King
and Queen of Politictaka.
Now that he had become King, Pol was more and more upset and heart
broken as his love for Mel haunted him and his relationship with Det
deteriorated.
They came to realize that one of many obstacles in their lives
was that they were unable to produce children.
38
41. POL’S FIRST SELLING OF HIS SOUL TO THE RAVEN:
Pol decided to call for the raven saying to it:
“Because of Mel’s unwillingness to return my love for her and her
becoming more popular then me; I want you to put a curse on her
turning her into a raccoon and sending her into the forest of Naturala to
live alone for the rest of her life.”
The raven did as it was told and, for her punishment, the curse was
applied as an obstacle in Mel’s life.
Due to his toxic dealings with the raven and now having become the new
King Pol decided not to continue with the competition.
He came to realize that he would have to be content with being married
to Det and with being the King of Politictaka.
39
42. Nat’s Third and Final Trip:
Nat, once again, following the instructions and coming to a point on the
path that felt right to him; he turned left leaving the path and entered
the forest.
As he left the path he felt himself, again, becoming small as he
had on the first two trips.
He began to mark his way as he went farther into the forest.
He could hear the beautiful singing off in the distance in front of him.
Having gone a long distance the time had come for him to stop and have
his noon meal.
At this point, as he was preparing his meal, Nat realized that the singing
was coming from behind him.
When he had finished his meal a strange feeling of fatigue came over him
and he decided to have a short nap.
POL’S SECOND SELLING OF HIS SOUL TO THE RAVEN:
In the mean time Pol had heard that Nat was gaining the favour of their
mother so he called upon the raven and sent it to keep an eye on him
and to try to spoil his third and final trip.
While Nat was sleeping Pol decided to have the raven place an obstacle in
his way to keep him from having another
successful trip and possibly even kill him.
40
43. Looking over the situation the raven chose to take Nat’s markers and put
them in a large circle.
The raven thought that Nat would just keep going around in the circle
until he would simply give up and go home or stay circling until he
would die.
The raven, fortunately for Nat, had forgotten my favourite saying that
goes like this:
“The obstacles in life become precisely what is required.”
When Nat awakened from his short sleep he started to backtrack using
his markers.
He discovered that he had passed the place where the singing was
coming from.
As he backtracked he came to realize that someone had changed his
markers so that he was going in a large circle.
He decided to make one complete circle.
As a result, Nat knew exactly where the sound of the voice was coming
from.
He went to the centre of the circle and sure enough there was a hole in
the ground and the beautiful sound of the singing voice was coming up
out of that hole.
Nat was so taken by the singing that he tried to look into the hole to see
who was singing and leaning over the edge of the hole he fell headlong
into the opening.
Falling into the hole he struck his head on the side of the entrance and
knocked himself unconscious.
41
44. There was something very soft at the bottom of the hole.
Fortunately, in Nat’s state of having become small, his landing upon the
soft object saved his life.
The soft thing at the bottom of the hole turned out to be a lovely female
raccoon and she was quite startled by Nat falling upon her.
Nevertheless, she picked him up, carried him up out of the hole and took
him down to a nearby stream to wash him off.
She hoped that by washing him off he would come back to
consciousness.
When washing him off she saw that he was a beautiful young man in his
prime and glory.
At that moment she fell utterly in love with him.
After washing him off she put him up high on a large and beautiful rock,
in the sun, to dry.
Little did the raccoon know that by putting Nat on that rock and falling
in love with him she was, in many ways, putting him in his proper place
and that Nat would soon be returning the favour.
The proper place for Nat was where he could become a husband, parent,
father and the new king of Naturala.
Nat awakened as the warmth from the sun was drying him and when he
tried to sit up his nose happened to touch the nose of the raccoon.
42
45. Nat didn’t know, until their noses touched, that his brother Pol had the
raven put a spell on Mel turning her into a
raccoon and sending her away to live alone in the forest for the rest of
her life.
The moment that their noses touched Mel stood naked before him as the
beautiful young girl whom he had seen and heard, in the past, singing
and entertaining during special events in his home town of Stoneya.
Even more beautiful now, in her prime and glory, she was so attractive
that Nat could not help but fall immediately in love with her.
As they stood naked and speaking of their future together they
decided to cover themselves and, in respect for each other,
they agreed to wait until they were married to fulfil their love for each
other.
Nat was also putting Mel in her proper place where she could become his
wife, a parent, mother and, of course, his new Queen of Naturala.
Covering themselves with clothes made of leaves they made their way
back to the path and began the long walk toward Stoneya.
As the day was coming to an end they decided to make their way to
Innspire and stay for the night.
When they arrived Div and I got them some proper clothes.
When they had changed into their clothes they told us of all that had
taken place on Nat’s third and final trip.
In the morning, after a hearty breakfast, we told them that we
43
46. were very pleased and happy for them and sent them on their way to
meet with Nat’s mother.
When they arrived in Stoneya the word traveled very quickly throughout
the community.
A great number of the people had already met Mel when she was singing
and entertaining at various festivals and events in Stoneya.
Nat’s mother knew of Mel, also, and when she saw them together, hand
in hand, she couldn’t have been more pleased.
She could hardly wait to hear all of the details of Nat’s third and final trip
of the competition.
The three of them had the formal meeting and Nat told his mother of all
that had happened on the trip.
She could tell just how much Nat and Mel were in love with each other
and that they wanted to be married as soon as
possible in order to fulfil the love they had for each other.
After being home for a week they were married and three weeks later Nat
was made the new King of Naturala.
The beautiful rock where Mel had put Nat in his proper place to dry was
carved into a grand throne for him to sit in during meetings with his
council, in the castle.
44
47. PROBLEMS ARISE FOR NAT AS THE NEW YOUNG KING:
Nat came to Innspire to stay for a night and talk with Div and me about
serious matters that were troubling him as the new King.
He told us that whenever he suggested any positive changes, that the
people of Naturala wanted, the council members would say:
“If your father, the old King, was still here we wouldn’t have to be
listening to any proposals for changes from the people.
The past King and we, as council members, didn’t have to take into
account what the people wanted.
The way we operated in the past was to simply plan and do what we saw
as being the best for us and the people.”
Div and I, knowing of Nat’s preferred style of being King, could
understand that he wanted to change the way he and the council
operated by providing as much inclusion as possible on the part of the
people.
We knew that Nat had discovered, on his first trip, how people could and
would resist change.
Change brings both personal gains and losses with it.
I said to Nat:
“By using your father’s ghost to block your desire for changes his old
council members are denying your people an appropriate level of
inclusion in decision making.
45
48. By keeping your father’s ghost alive they are infecting the community
and the operation of the council meetings in toxic negative ways.
They are protecting against the loss of their comfortable and profitable
old style of operating.
You must show them what they can expect to gain from the proposed
changes that you want to put forward now and in the future.”
Nat, leaving Innspire armed with his new insights related to the problem,
decided to give the council members another chance at dealing with his
desire for change.
He returned two weeks later saying:
“When I tried, again, to share thoughts for future changes with the old
council members they made it clear that they wanted nothing to do with
me and any ideas for change.”
I said to Nat:
“This is a critical turning point regarding your authority as the new King.
It would be best, at this time, for you to take some drastic
action related to the old council and the exorcism of the ghost
of your dead father.
In order for you to gain your own authority you will have to retire the old
council members and, without a vote, appoint your own, new and
younger council.
46
49. It is obvious that the old council members still want to resort
to using the authority of the ghost of your father.”
In offering my advice to Nat regarding the exorcism I said:
First:
“You must invite the most significant and appropriate people to attend
the exorcism of your father’s ghost.
Second:
The participants including yourself, your father’s friends and his council
members will write down appreciations and resentments of your father
and bring the papers to the location where the exorcism will be taking
place.
Third:
You will announce the location as being in the open area on the lawn at
the front of the castle and for all of the participants to assemble there in
order to be involved in the exorcism.
Fourth:
When the people arrive you will have them stand in a large circle with
you at the centre of the circle.
Fifth:
You will dig a hole in the centre of the circle and then have each person
read aloud their appreciations and resentments of your father.
Sixth:
Then everyone must set fire to their papers letting the smoke go up into
the air and allowing the ashes to fall into the hole.
47
50. Seventh:
You will have brought to the site your father’s favourite kind of tree ( a
small weeping willow ) and you will plant it in the hole over the ashes in
the centre of the circle.
Eighth:
Each person will then have the opportunity to share their feelings,
emotions and any unfinished business related to your father’s death and
the experience of the exorcism with each of the other participants.
Ninth:
After everyone has shared their thoughts you will declare that the
exorcism has come to an end and that everyone may return home.”
A GENERAL USE OF GHOSTS:
As an example for Nat, regarding the positive use of ghosts, I told him:
“The last time I visited the council meeting room I saw that your father
had used the ghosts of the past five Kings as
life-sized oil paintings of them in a very positive and powerful way.
He placed their paintings on the wall behind his throne in the council
meeting room.
When the council members addressed him head on, from their chairs, it
looked as if all of the past Kings were literally standing behind your
father in support.”
48
51. TAKING THE PRINCIPALS & PRACTICES ONE STEP FURTHER:
Nat came to Innspire to let Div and me know that the exorcism was a
great success and to let us know that he had taken his problem solving
one step further.
He said:
First:
“I took your advice about selecting my own, new and young, council
members without a vote.
Second:
I used the principals of exorcism to facilitate a smooth transition when
the new council members replaced the old members.
Third:
I had the new and old council members assemble on the lawn at the
front of the castle in a large circle, around my father’s weeping willow
tree, and had them stand together paired up around the circle based on
their similar responsibilities.
Fourth:
The old members, before arriving, were told to bring copies of the policies
and procedures that they had been working on.
Sixth:
They were told to (a) bring small trees of their choosing to the site (b) dig
holes around the outer edge of the large circle (c) set fire to the copies of
the old policies and procedures letting the smoke go into the air and the
ashes fall into the holes (d) to plant their trees over the ashes in those
holes.
49
52. Seventh:
Together the new and old members made permanent signs for each tree
showing the name of each old member and spelling out the appreciations
for their past services over the years.
Eighth:
All in attendance shared their feelings and thoughts about the experience
and then returned home.”
The short term positive results:
The successful transition allowed the old council members to retire with
dignity and honour and for the younger members to learn from the
experience.
The long term positive results:
There is a large beautiful circle of pine trees now standing
with the old King’s weeping willow tree in the centre of the
circle as a living monument of appreciation to him and his past council.
50
53. NAT’S PLAN FOR CHANGING THE METHOD OF BATTLING:
Three weeks later, with a proposal in hand, Nat came to Innspire, stayed
for the night and shared his plans for a different way to settle conflicts
without major battles, at least, on the Battle Meadows.
Nat went on to say:
“I have declared that the large island at the southern part of the Sanbotia
river is the only place where small battles can take place in the future.
The name of the island is now “Battle Island.”
The new rules of conduct for battle, after all attempts at peaceful
settlements of conflicts have failed, would be as follows:
1. In preparation for battle the conflicted leaders, on each side, would
assign six of their top warriors to join them to go into battle.
2. The seven warriors for each side would choose exactly the same
number and kind of weapons to be used during the battle.
3. The leaders from each side along with their top six warriors would set
up camps at opposite ends of the large neutral island in the down-
stream, southern part of the Sanbotia river.
4. Large fires would be set by both sides, at each end of the
island, using the smoke from the fires to signal that the time had come
for the battle to start.
5. At the end of the battle the surviving members on the
victorious side would clean up the island by collecting the bodies of the
victims from both sides and burning them in their fire.
51
54. POSITIVE RESULTS FROM THE NEW RULES OF BATTLE:
First: There would be a smaller number of battles when only the leaders
and six of their top warriors, on each side, would be fighting.
Second: Only a few people would be killed or wounded when coming to
fight on Battle Island from any region, land or country.
Third: No longer would citizens of townships or rural communities have
to experience genocide, rape, robbery, loss of property, or being pillaged
ruthlessly by great numbers of victorious warriors and their leaders.
Forth: A greater number of people would begin to trust that they could
plan for a prosperous, peaceful and long life without major negative
destructive battles.
Fifth: No leader or king, in all of the world, would be allowed to say such
foolish things as “Virgins are waiting for martyrs killed in battle” or “God
is on our side” when saying those things in the recruitment or training of
young warriors.
Sixth: Battle propagandists would no longer be allowed to say that
“Parents should only sacrifice their children to God” for the purpose of
recruiting young people for battles.
52
55. NAT’S OTHER GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
AND HE & MEL’S DESTINIES:
Nat, with his wife Mel at his side, became a trustworthy,
honest and powerful advocate for his people.
He was able to accomplish many great and positive things
throughout all of the land and he brought relative peace to many other
regions, lands and countries in the world.
Under the guidance of the white dove Nat, Mel, and all of their offspring
lived long, happy and rewarding lives until the end of time.
As the promise of the story goes they lived happily for the rest of their
lives and all went to live in the light side of divinity with the white dove
and it’s father when their wonderful and fruitful lives were over.

Would you prefer to positively deal with these issues / problems and resolve them?
Yes ____ No ____. ( If Yes and they are resolved you will not be able to continue to
blame others or to use others to justify your present behaviours )
Note: If you no longer can use others ( blaming or justifying ) then you will have to take
responsibility for your own future choices, decisions, behaviours and outcomes.
( or find some other thing or person(s) to blame and use to justify your present and future
negative / dishonourable / self destructive behaviours ).
* Problems / issues can be brought to closure even when the contributors / people are no
longer living and in situations ( war, drowning, etc. ) where no body is recovered /
available for closure through a proper funeral.

62. The Overthrow of the Parent(s) / Authorities = Positive & Negative:
Typical rebellion = trying to find one’s own way and independent identity.
A positive overthrow is accomplished by becoming a better = educated
person, student, worker, artist, husband, wife, father, mother, parent, teacher, singer,
preacher, etc. than your parents were / are.
A negative overthrow is accomplished by out = drinking, smoking, doping, cursing,
eating, stealing, fighting, arguing, partying, bar hopping, cheating, gambling, etc. your
parents. ( can go on generation after generation )
Note:
The intended outcome of a positive overthrow brings honour to the
over thrower and to the family name.
The intended or unintended outcome of a negative overthrow brings
dishonour to the over thrower and to the family name.
Proposed Solutions of Personal Problems:
Fire, Smoke, Ashes and ( Tree / shrub is optional = a living monument )
Step 1.
Write down the words that best describe the person(s) that you believe you have a
problem(s) with. ( resentments and appreciations )
Write a description of the event(s) that took place in relation to the development,
outcomes / results of the problem(s).
Note:
If anger surfaces when you describe the person(s) and / or event(s) be sure to be as clear
and detailed as possible in separating the person(s) contributions and your own
contributing factors / actions in bringing about the problem(s).
( Try to distinguish the difference between self anger and anger held against the other
person(s) ).
60
63. Step 2.
Gather together some personal items ( pictures, article of clothing, T shirt, letters, e-mail
copies, etc. ) that belong to the person(s) that you have the problem(s) / issues with.
Step 3.
Find a spot / location that is visible to you ( front / back yard ), where you can dig a hole (
suitable for planting a small tree or shrub ) and dig the hole.
Step 4.
Bring to the hole (a) a small tree / shrub (b) the papers describing the person(s) and
event(s) (c) the personal items belonging to the person(s) that you have the problem(s)
with.
Step 5.
Read aloud the information on your papers and set fire to both the papers and the
personal items + letting the smoke go into the air and the ashes drop into the hole, then
plant the tree / shrub in the hole.
Note:
“The planting of a tree, shrub or crop represents hope for the future”.
You can do all of this alone ( only for yourself ) or you can include others who would
benefit from gaining closure related to solving the problem(s).
The important thing is to RELIEVE THE ANGER by resolving the problem(s) for
yourself . = ( without a negative confrontation that would only cause further problems
for all concerned ).
Choosing a location of high visibility will provide a constant reminder that you have
buried the problem(s). ( in case you should allow them to surface again, in the future).
Fire / Smoke / Ashes = Burning, Burying, Planting and LET IT GO =
Then GET ON WITH YOUR POSITIVE ANGER FREE LIFE =
( Forgiving Yourself and Others )
