The document discusses the biblical teachings about the New Earth. It describes the New Earth as a perfect place where righteousness dwells, created by God for the redeemed to live with Him eternally. There will be no more suffering, death, or effects of sin. Several Bible passages are cited that refer to God making a new heaven and new earth (Isaiah 65:17; 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1-4). The New Earth will be similar to the Garden of Eden, with God and the redeemed living together forever in a place where sin has been destroyed and the results of the Great Controversy have ended.

The document discusses the role of the Holy Spirit according to passages in the Gospel of John. It states that in John 14-16, Jesus says the Spirit will be a helper, teacher, testifier, and convicter. The Spirit will guide believers and glorify Jesus. Acts 2 shows how this worked in the early church. Additional passages indicate that the Spirit still speaks today, can be grieved, and can be quenched. The overall message is that the Spirit aims to help believers.
The document discusses how the Bible views humanity and earthly things as "vanity". It provides over 30 examples from scripture where vanity is used to describe the fleeting nature of life, riches, wisdom, pleasures and other worldly pursuits. Vanity encompasses humanity after the fall, our transient existence, the emptiness of living for temporal things, and the foolishness of trusting in one's own righteousness or the ways of the ungodly.
1) God promises to guide believers through His Word, Spirit, and circumstances. He teaches us what is best and directs us in the way we should go.
2) There are three lights that provide guidance: God's Word, the Holy Spirit's witness, and divine providence seen in circumstances. We should seek guidance through Scripture, listening to the Spirit's whispers, and paying attention to how God orchestrates events.
3) While people can plan their own course, God ultimately determines our steps. We should seek His will and timing through prayer, counsel, and using common sense. When we trust in God, He will guide us in the right path.

The document discusses the key concepts and principles of the Kingdom of Heaven according to passages from the Bible. It describes how Jesus and John the Baptist preached about the Kingdom of Heaven being at hand and how Jesus gave his disciples power to preach and heal. It discusses humility, faith, citizenship in heaven, being ambassadors on Earth for Christ, and finding refuge in God's fortress, the church.
Proper preaching involves proclaiming God's message as commanded, calling people to repentance and alignment with God, and providing hope through the gospel. Effective preaching teaches God's word through scripture and magnifies Christ, with the goal of establishing people in the faith and conquering the flesh through repeated proclamation, despite the risks or perception of foolishness. God uses preaching as the primary means of saving believers and manifesting his word throughout history.
The document describes a situation in the early Christian church where Greek-speaking widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. The twelve disciples appointed seven men, including Stephen, to oversee the distribution so that the disciples could focus on preaching. Stephen performed great signs and wonders but also encountered opposition from religious leaders. He was eventually falsely accused of blasphemy and brought before the Jewish high council, where he gave a speech defending his faith before being martyred.

This document contains several passages from the Bible, including from the Gospels of John and Mark, as well as Psalms, Isaiah, Revelation, and John 3:16-18. The passages discuss Jesus saying whoever loves their life in this world will lose eternal life, his troubled feelings in the garden of Gethsemane, the crowd's confusion around his references to the "Son of Man", judgment according to deeds from the books of life, and God's love for the world in sending his son for salvation rather than condemnation.
The document discusses several Bible passages about Jesus Christ being God incarnate who came to save humanity. It references his virgin birth, miracles performed, death to atone for sins, and wise men following his star to bring him gifts. The overall message is that God loved the world so much that he sent his son Jesus to redeem mankind.
Exodus 1-3, The angel of the Lord, Moses And The Burning Bush, I AM's in John...Valley Bible Fellowship
Exodus Chapters 1 to 3 summarize as follows:
1) The Israelites multiply in Egypt but a new king arises who enslaves them, forcing them into hard labor. He orders the death of all newborn Hebrew boys.
2) Moses is born and placed in a basket in the Nile river, where he is discovered and adopted by Pharaoh's daughter.
3) As an adult, Moses flees Egypt after killing an Egyptian taskmaster. He settles with the Midianites as a shepherd. At the burning bush, God appears to Moses as an angel and commands him to return to Egypt to demand Pharaoh free the Israelites.
The document discusses the obligation of Christians to "go" as part of the Great Commission given by Jesus. It explains that Jesus commanded the apostles and early church to go and spread the gospel to all nations. Today, this obligation belongs to all Christians. We should go because Jesus commanded it, we love the truth and souls, and we want to prioritize our faith. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all want the gospel to be shared with all people. Christians can go in any lawful way using modern technologies. We are to go now and for our whole lives after proper preparation, in order to save as many as possible before death.
The document contains several Bible passages from 1 Corinthians, Acts, Matthew, 1 John, 1 Timothy, James, Luke, Hebrews, Mark, and Ephesians about maintaining an undistracted devotion to the Lord. It discusses how being married, wealth, friendship with the world, jealousy, and the cares of this life can divide one's interests and attention away from solely pleasing God. It emphasizes the importance of single-mindedly serving the Lord with one's whole heart, soul, mind and strength.
Luke 20, Jesus’ gospel and authority, amazed thaumazo, OT Resurrection, Viney...Valley Bible Fellowship
Jesus is questioned about his authority by the Jewish leaders. He responds by asking them about John the Baptist's authority. When they are unable to answer, Jesus refuses to tell them by what authority he acts. He then tells a parable about a vineyard owner who sends servants to collect fruit from the vineyard but the tenants kill the servants. When the owner sends his son, they kill him too. Jesus indicates that God will judge Israel for rejecting him. The religious leaders try to trap Jesus on the issue of paying taxes to Caesar but he avoids the trap with a response about rendering to Caesar and God.

This document provides an overview of a sermon given at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi on November 12, 2017. The sermon discusses the biblical concept of the priesthood as established in Leviticus chapters 9 and 10, including God's ordination of Aaron and his sons as the first priests and their offering of sacrifices. It also examines the story of Nadab and Abihu being killed for offering "unauthorized fire" and defines a biblical theology of worship, emphasizing that worship must be in spirit and truth, with reverence and obedience to God.

The document discusses giving one's heart fully to God. It provides several Bible verses that emphasize loving God with all one's heart, seeking God with all one's heart, and returning to God with all one's heart. It warns against only outwardly following God's commandments without inward devotion, and encourages prioritizing time with God over distractions and worries.
The document discusses the parable of the Sower and Soils from Mark 4. It explains that the sower is Jesus and others who spread the gospel message, which is likened to a seed. It describes how we should plant seeds by loving others, allowing our faith and good works to be seen, and telling people about God's impact in our lives. The value of the seed is that it gives birth to life, salvation, and spiritual blessings like pardon, peace, redemption, adoption, and the Holy Spirit.

The document discusses the authenticity of Mark 16:9-20 in the Bible. It summarizes that while some of the oldest Greek manuscripts from the 3rd and 4th centuries CE do not include these verses, the majority of later Greek manuscripts and translations in other languages do contain them. It also notes that early Church fathers, such as Irenaeus, quoted from these verses, indicating they were present in the texts during the 2nd century CE. Therefore, while some verses were possibly added later to complete the ending, there is significant evidence that early Christians accepted Mark 16:9-20 as authentic parts of Scripture.

The document summarizes research on strategies to reduce distractions during medication administration in acute care settings. It defines a medication administration error and reviews literature on the negative effects of errors. Current practices used to reduce distractions, such as protective clothing and designated quiet zones, are described. The literature shows these strategies have had inconsistent results in reducing errors. Alternative methods that have shown benefits include fully stocked medication areas and patient/staff education. More research is still needed to determine the most effective approaches.

The document describes Jesus' baptism by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. It recounts how John initially did not want to baptize Jesus but Jesus insisted it was necessary to fulfill all righteousness. At Jesus' baptism, the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in the form of a dove as a voice from heaven declared "This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased." The baptism marked Jesus' divine appointment by God as the light to the nations and judge of the living and the dead.
John the Baptist preached repentance in the wilderness and baptized many who confessed their sins in the Jordan River. Jesus also came to John to be baptized, saying it was necessary to fulfill all righteousness, after which the Holy Spirit descended on him. Baptism involves repentance, humility, surrender, and obedience to God.

1. Repent and God will forgive you. Christ suffered to fulfill prophecies and people should repent so their sins may be wiped away.
2. Christ must return to the earth for the Millennial Kingdom to start. He will return after a period of restoration as foretold by prophets.
3. The priests and Sadducees arrested Peter and John for preaching about Jesus' resurrection, as they did not believe in resurrection or the afterlife. Many people believed despite the persecution.
What is the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Why is proclaiming the Gospel of Christ necessary? What are some reactions you have had when you shared the Gospel? Why do many people react negatively to the Gospel of Christ? (John 6:60-66; Mark 6:1-6)
The document discusses the meaning of the word "anon" as it is used in the Bible. It provides several Bible verses from Matthew and Mark that use the word "anon" and defines it to mean "immediately" based on a parallel verse in Mark. It also discusses Jesus ordaining the twelve disciples and lists the names of the disciples from the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Finally, it compares Jesus giving the Beatitudes from Matthew 5:1-12 with the parallel account in Luke 6:17-22.
Peter explains to other believers that God had shown him a vision telling him it was acceptable to preach to Gentiles. He recounts visiting Cornelius, a Gentile, where the Holy Spirit fell upon those listening before they were baptized. When questioned about this later, Peter recounts the vision and emphasizes that God had given the Gentiles the Holy Spirit, showing God had accepted them. The other believers then accept that God had granted repentance and salvation to Gentiles as well.
The document discusses John the Baptist and his role as the precursor to Jesus. It provides biblical references showing the parallels between John the Baptist and Elijah, including that John went before Jesus in the spirit and power of Elijah to prepare people for Jesus' coming. The document also examines John's ministry of preaching repentance and baptizing people, as well as his boldness in confronting religious leaders.
Prophecy involves speaking the mind of God under divine inspiration. Effective prophecy will be in line with scripture, glorify Jesus, edify and not divide, love sinners but hate sin, convict without condemnation, present God as the solution, not be controlling, stand the test of time, be tested, be a sign to unbelievers, exhort and comfort others, and be given according to the speaker's faith. Prophecy should build up the body of Christ.
Christ testifies about John the Baptist to crowds and his disciples. He asks three rhetorical questions about what people went to see John for: a reed shaken by the wind, a man in soft clothes, or a prophet. Christ says John is more than a prophet and fulfills the prophecy of preparing the way for the Lord. He says among men, no one is greater than John, but the least in God's kingdom is greater. Christ testifies that John was like Elijah to turn people to God in preparation for Christ.
This document discusses Jesus teaching his disciples about the fulfillment of prophecies concerning him in the Old Testament scriptures. It explains that Jesus opened their minds to understand by taking passages and showing how they were fulfilled in him. It then discusses how Jesus taught his disciples that it was necessary for him to suffer and rise from the dead on the third day according to scripture. Finally, it states that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem.
All of us (Christians) have a responsibility to teach the gospel of Christ. In this second lesson we continue to study evangelism. Both audio and slides can be found at www.cmcoc.org Sermon by: Brian Birdow
The document provides an overview of the key parts and timeline of the New Testament. It discusses:
- The Gospels which describe Jesus' life, teachings and sacrifice. Acts which describes the transformation of the disciples after Jesus' death. Paul's letters to churches and leaders. Other letters by figures like Peter and John. Revelation which ties up the current and future world.
- Jesus fulfilling the law by living a perfect life and enabling followers to fulfill it through their relationship with him based on acknowledging and reciprocating his love and forgiveness.
- Jesus as the perfect savior, leader, and role model and the perfect future after judgment of victory and glory. However, humans continue to be imperfect but strive for
The document discusses several Bible passages related to the work of the Holy Spirit. It describes how the Holy Spirit came upon believers in Acts, empowering them to speak in other tongues. It also discusses how grieving the Holy Spirit can occur through corrupt speech or hardness of heart rather than through ministering to sinners. The document emphasizes allowing the word of Christ to dwell richly and ministering to one another with grace.
What is the eternal destiny of the unborn, the very young, and even the mentally handicapped, and the question of whether the Bible speaks about an age of accountability. Are all human beings centers by nature? Is God truly fair, loving, and just?
The Powerpoint outlines for this series of lessons on The Great Commission were downloaded from the Duluth, GA Church of Christ website at: http://www.churchofchristduluthga.org/sermons.php
This document discusses the need for intense engagement in evangelism. It notes that billions are dying without Christ and churches may cease to exist unless more is done to meet this need. However, the need is not being met due to a lack of concern, knowledge, courage, faith and focus among Christians. The document urges Christians to fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples, to love others by offering salvation, and to have the zeal of the early church. It argues intense engagement is needed because of God's command, to show love for others, and because of the joy in saving souls and the terror of judgment day. The conclusion calls Christians to restore the church's original mission of intense engagement in God's vineyard.
The document provides commentary on Jesus' temptation in the wilderness. It summarizes that Jesus resisted temptation by quoting scripture, showing the importance of relying on God's word rather than taking matters into one's own hands. It then discusses various biblical examples of testing and temptation, exemplifying how Jesus overcame through obedience to what is written.

The document discusses the sanctuary from the time of Moses and its significance. It notes that John the Baptist called Jesus the "Lamb of God" who takes away the sin of the world. It then discusses the earthly sanctuary patterned after the heavenly one, with the holy place and most holy place housing the ark and law of God. The 2300 day prophecy of Daniel 8 is examined, finding its starting point in 457 BC and ending in 1844 AD, marking the start of the judgment and cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary. The document asserts this cleansed the corruption of the daily ministry by the papal priesthood and restored Jesus as the true high priest in heaven.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

1. The message of John
the Immerser (Baptist)
by
Brian Birdow
Sermon text: Matthew 3
2. Our aim to know
1. Who is John the immerser?
2. What was his purpose?
3. What was his message?
4. What was John’s urgency!
3. Who is John the immerser?
• Matthew 3:1 In those days came John
the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness
of Judea,
• Matthew 11:9 But what went you out to
see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and
more than a prophet.
4. Who is John the immerser?
• Isaiah 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in
the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the
LORD, make straight in the desert a
highway for our God.
• John 5:35 He was a burning and a
shining light: and ye were willing for a
season to rejoice in his light.
• John was very zealous and fiery!
5. Who is John the immerser?
• Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah
the prophet before the coming of the great
and dreadful day of the LORD:
• Malachi 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of
the fathers to the children, and the heart of
the children to their fathers, lest I come
and smite the earth with a curse.
6. His message
• Matthew 3:2 And saying, Repent: for the
kingdom of heaven is at hand.
• Matthew 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits
befitting for repentance:
• Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness,
and preach the baptism of repentance for the
remission of sins.
7. His message
• Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with
water unto repentance: but He that comes
after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am
not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with
the Holy Spirit, and with fire:
• Acts 13:25 And as John fulfilled his course,
he said, Whom think you that I am? I am not
he. But, behold, there comes one after me,
whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to
loose.
8. His message
• Repentance
• Told people they needed to change
• Obviously they are not going in the right
direction
• He stress the value of the kingdom of heaven
and what they need to do!
9. Kingdom of Heaven
• 1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say unto you by the
word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain
unto the coming of the Lord shall not precede them
who are asleep.
• 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall
descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of
the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the
dead in Christ shall rise first:
• 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we who are alive and
remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we
ever be with the Lord.
10. Who did he preach to?
• Matthew 3:5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all
Judea, and all the region round about Jordan,
• Acts 13:24 When John had first preached before his
coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of
Israel.
• Pharisees
• Sadducees
• Tax collectors
• Harlots
• Anybody that came to him!
11. Our preaching should be
• To everyone who will hear.
• Higher educated people
• Lower educated people
• Criminals
• SINNERS!!!
12. Our preaching should be
• To all who are in darkness!
• Matthew 4:16 The people who sat in
darkness saw great light; and to them who sat
in the region and shadow of death, light is
sprung up.
• Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to
preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom
of heaven is at hand.
13. John’s urgency!!!!
• Matthew 3:10 And now also the ax is laid
unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree
which brings not forth good fruit is hewn
down, and cast into the fire.
• This illustrates the fact that the judgment has
begun and it is against every non-productive
tree. John is saying their delay can bring
about death. If one does not bring forth fruits
for repentance, it could mean death. The axe
represents God’s judgment upon men.
14. John’s urgency!!!!
• Matthew 3:3 For this is he that was
spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying,
The voice of one crying in the wilderness,
Prepare you the way of the Lord, make his
paths straight.
• Matthew 11:13 For all the prophets and
the law prophesied until John.
15. Change is here!
• Acts 14:15 And saying, Sirs, why do you
these things? We also are men of like
passions with you, and preach unto you that
you should turn from these vanities unto the
living God, who made heaven, and earth, and
the sea, and all things that are in them:
• Acts 14:16 Who in times past allowed all
nations to walk in their own ways.
16. Change is here!
• Acts 17:29 Therefore then as we are the offspring of
God, we ought not to think that the Deity is like unto
gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's
device.
• Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God
overlooked; but now commands all men everywhere to
repent:
• Acts 17:31 Because he has appointed a day, in which
he will judge the world in righteousness by that man
whom he has ordained; and of this he has given
assurance unto all men, in that he has raised him from
the dead.
17. John’s urgency!!!!
• 2 Corinthians 6:1 We then, as workers
together with him, beseech you also that you
receive not the grace of God in vain.
• 2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he says, I have heard
you in a time accepted, and in the day of
salvation have I helped you: behold, now is
the accepted time; behold, now is the day of
salvation.)
18. Baptism-Repentance = 0
• Matthew 3:7 But when he saw many of
the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his
baptism, he said unto them, O generation
of vipers, who has warned you to flee from
the wrath to come?
• Matthew 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits
befitting for repentance:
19. John the immerser
• Did not consider baptism to have any
saving significance apart from the
fundamental change of life indicated by
conversion!
• In other words if they did not cease from
sin it did not matter if they were baptized
are not!
20. Baptism and sin
• Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say then? Shall we
continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid.
How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer in
it?
• Romans 6:16 Know you not, that to whom you yield
yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to
whom you obey; whether of sin unto death, or of
obedience unto righteousness?
• Hebrews 3:7-16..Turn with me please
21. Baptism and Sin
• 2 Peter 2:21 For it had been better for them
not to have known the way of righteousness,
than, after they have known it, to turn from the
holy commandment delivered unto them.
• 2 Peter 2:22 But it is happened unto them
according to the true proverb, The dog has
turned to his own vomit again; and the sow
that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
