What is the eternal destiny of the unborn, the very young, and even the mentally handicapped, and the question of whether the Bible speaks about an age of accountability. Are all human beings centers by nature? Is God truly fair, loving, and just?
The document contains several Bible passages about prayer, devotion to prayer, and the importance of prayer. It highlights that early Christians were devoted to prayer, prayer should be made for all people including those in authority, and that prayer is essential but must be done with the right heart and intentions to be effective and heard by God.
The document describes a situation in the early Christian church where Greek-speaking widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. The twelve disciples appointed seven men, including Stephen, to oversee the distribution so that the disciples could focus on preaching. Stephen performed great signs and wonders but also encountered opposition from religious leaders. He was eventually falsely accused of blasphemy and brought before the Jewish high council, where he gave a speech defending his faith before being martyred.
This document is a summary of a sermon given at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi on February 22, 2015. The sermon discusses committing one's way to God according to Nehemiah 10:28-39. It provides three challenges for the church's education department in 2015: memorizing monthly verses, sharing one's faith with one person per month, and having class members share how they've seen God at work. The sermon discusses the coming of Jesus, the importance of watching and praying, and inheriting the crown of righteousness. It relates these concepts to current geopolitical events mentioned in the Bible like the Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38 wars.
This document provides a summary of a sermon given on 1 Timothy 3:1-16. The sermon discusses the qualifications for church leaders outlined in the passage, but notes that these qualifications can seem overwhelming. However, the "mystery of godliness" according to verse 16 is not a list of rules but a Person - Jesus Christ. The sermon then walks through each part of verse 16 about Jesus, from his incarnation to his resurrection and ascension. The key point is that godliness is found not through self-effort but by looking to Jesus, who intercedes for believers and lives within them by the Holy Spirit. Believers can be assured of salvation not by their own works but through faith in
Joshua challenges the Israelites to choose whether they will serve the LORD or other gods. Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter and instead chose to endure ill-treatment with the people of God. The passage contrasts following the flesh versus following the Spirit, stating that those who practice deeds of the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The document provides an overview of the gospel message. Some key points:
1) The gospel is the "good news" that Jesus came to save sinners and offer eternal life. He died on the cross for our sins and rose again.
2) All people are sinful and deserving of God's wrath, but through faith in Christ, God offers salvation, mercy, and a restored relationship with Him.
3) Believers are called to follow Christ, worship God, and share the gospel with others so that more may experience God's grace and salvation. The gospel transforms lives and gives hope of eternal life in heaven.
1. The document outlines a field trip for a church mission session, including visits to CedarCreek Church and St. George Orthodox Cathedral on June 6th.
2. For those unable to attend, an alternative assignment is provided - attend another church's worship service and write a 2-3 page review comparing the experience to their own church.
3. Biblical foundations of God's mission are discussed, showing how mission is central to both the Old and New Testaments. God's call to Abraham established Israel as a missionary nation meant to bless all peoples.
Jabez prayed that God would bless him, enlarge his territory, be with him, and protect him from harm. God answered Jabez's prayer. The document explores principles for effective prayer seen in Jabez's prayer and other biblical passages, such as asking God, asking in faith, having proper motives, recognizing that all good things come from God, trusting in God's presence, and finding protection in God.
The document is a 31 slide presentation on lessons from a cave. It contains multiple Bible verses from Psalms and other books that discuss taking refuge in God, crying out to God in difficult times, God sending his truth and love, praising God among the nations, and exalting God above the heavens. The presentation uses the verses to discuss themes of finding shelter, strength, and hope in God during hard times.
This document provides an introduction and overview to the Sermon on the Mount given by Jesus Christ as recorded in Matthew 5-7. It discusses the context and purpose of the Sermon on the Mount, noting that while it outlines an ethical standard, it does not provide the means or power to achieve it. The Sermon on the Mount lifts the Mosaic Law to an even higher standard and reveals mankind's inability to attain righteousness through works. It is meant to convict people of their sin and need for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
Christ learned obedience through suffering. Suffering produces perseverance and leads to an eternal glory that outweighs temporary hardships. While suffering, Job maintained his faith in God despite losing his family and possessions, and his example is one Christians can learn from. Suffering is common to humanity, but God promises to never abandon those who are His and to use hardship to draw people nearer to Himself.

The document outlines the fundamental beliefs of a church. It summarizes beliefs about the Bible being the inspired word of God. It also discusses beliefs about God, Jesus Christ including his virgin birth, deity, sinless life, death, resurrection and return. It discusses beliefs about the Holy Spirit, man being created by God but now fallen, salvation only coming through faith in Christ, security of believers, heaven and hell, the church, separation from false doctrines, and rejection of movements like tongues, neo-orthodoxy, neo-evangelicalism, and ecumenism.
The document is a slide presentation on the biblical book of Ecclesiastes. It contains various passages from Ecclesiastes and other books of the Bible that discuss themes of wisdom, the futility of life, and remembering God. The final slides conclude that people should fear God and keep his commandments, as everyone will be judged by God for their deeds.
Moses questions God about who he is to demand that Pharaoh release the Israelites from Egypt. God responds that He will be with Moses and tells Moses His name is "I AM". Throughout the Bible, God and Jesus refer to themselves as "I AM" to signify that they are the eternal, self-existent one. Jesus performs many miracles and makes statements where He calls himself the "I AM", such as "I am the bread of life" and "I am the light of the world". By calling himself the "I AM", Jesus was claiming to be God.

This document provides a summary of Ruth chapters 3 and 4 from a church sermon. It discusses how Ruth followed Naomi's plan to reveal herself to Boaz at the threshing floor in order to prompt him to act as their kinsman redeemer. Boaz agrees to redeem Ruth and Naomi's land. The next day, Boaz calls together the other potential redeemer, who declines, so Boaz marries Ruth. They have a son, Obed, who is the grandfather of King David. The document examines themes of redemption through Christ from the story and lessons that can be learned from Naomi's shattered dreams.
I Corinthians 14:37-38 God does not want us to be ignorant of concern for others, God's righteousness, the hardening of Israel, the possibility of our falling, spiritual gifts, what others do for us, Satan's Devices, the resurrection.
The document discusses the concept of offering to God that which costs us nothing through several Bible passages. It references Solomon building the temple on Mount Moriah where God appeared to David. It also discusses passages about the persecutions and afflictions that the early church endured for their faith, and how they offered their lives as living sacrifices to God. The document encourages offering our whole lives to God, including being willing to suffer reproach and rejection for Jesus.
Isaac dug again the wells that had been dug by his father Abraham, since the Philistines had filled them in after Abraham's death. He gave them the same names that his father had given them. Jesus told the woman at the well that whoever drinks of the water he will give will never thirst again, but will have a well of water springing up to eternal life. Peter declared that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and Jesus said he would build his church upon this rock.
A prophet from Judah prophesied against Jeroboam's altar and was invited by the king to eat with him, but refused due to God's command. An old prophet from Bethel lied and said God told him to bring the prophet back, who then ate with him and was killed by a lion on his way home as judgment for disobeying God's command. The story teaches that we must obey God rather than men and will all give an account to God for our actions.
This document discusses how God pursues a continuing love relationship with humanity that is personal and real. It notes that God is defined by love and has no competitors for our devotion, as shown through sending his son as a sacrifice for our sins. While God's love can be difficult for some to believe, the story of Hagar illustrates how even in her despair, God saw her and provided for her needs. The document encourages readers to pursue knowing God better by looking for where he is at work each day and participating in spiritual growth opportunities.
1. The document discusses the importance of discipleship for children who become Christians.
2. It provides resources for leading children to faith in Christ and for discipling them once they become believers, including programs that teach them about baptism, church, prayer, and Bible study.
3. It encourages readers to advocate for and participate in discipling children in their churches.
The relationship between religion and science has been a focus of the demarcation problem. Somewhat related is the claim that science and religion may pursue knowledge using different methodologies. Whereas the scientific method basically relies on reason and empiricism, religion also seeks (at times, primarily) to acknowledge revelation, faith and sacredness. There is no insoluble contradiction between faith and science, because there cannot be two kinds of truth. There is only one truth to which

How the new world order is hijacking civilizationPeter Hammond
History testifies how God has blessed and used the Christian nations to bless all the families of the nations of the earth. The Protestant nations of Western Europe have a great Christian heritage. Despite violent opposition, Protestants emerged from the fires of persecution to change lives, make history and transform nations. Faithful believers contended for the Faith, preserved and translated God's Word, Reformed the Church and vigorously proclaimed the Word of God to all nations.
The Trinity refers to the one God in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Old Testament hints at personal distinctions in God, while the New Testament openly reveals the three persons through Jesus Christ. The persons are distinct yet united in their divine essence. The Trinity is central to Christian faith and expressed in the Apostles' Creed.
The document discusses the Christian doctrine of the Trinity, beginning with verses from the Bible about monotheism and faith in God. It then discusses how the Trinity belief developed over time, with influences from pagan religions. The Trinity holds that God exists as three persons (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) but is one being. The document examines the origins and evolution of the Trinity doctrine in early Christian thinkers and ecumenical councils, noting debates between views.
Book keeping basic concept: - raju mba 4semsridharvraju
The document discusses the basic concepts of book keeping and accounting. It explains that book keeping involves systematically recording business transactions, while accounting builds on book keeping by analyzing records to prepare financial statements and interpret financial results. The key principles of accounting include the money measurement concept, business entity concept, going concern concept, and matching concept. Financial statements like the manufacturing account, trading account, profit and loss account, and balance sheet are prepared according to accounting principles and concepts.
Book-keeping is important for all businesses for several reasons: to understand financial performance, meet legal requirements, and make informed decisions. Records of income, expenses, assets and liabilities like accounts receivable, accounts payable, and tax documents allow owners to track cash flow, profitability, and ensure compliance. While software can automate book-keeping, basic spreadsheets or paper-based systems also work for some small businesses.
Book-keeping is the recording and organizing of financial transactions for a business. It involves recording income and expenses in journals and ledgers, then summarizing the transactions to determine profit or loss over a period of time. The goal is to maintain accurate records of all monetary inflows and outflows so that financial reports can be produced and the business owner knows the overall financial performance and health of the company.
Keeping accurate financial records is essential for running a successful small business. Good records allow business owners to monitor the financial performance and profitability of the business, make informed decisions, obtain financing, prepare tax filings, comply with payroll regulations, and determine distributions to owners. Without proper record keeping, business owners risk making poor decisions, paying unnecessary taxes and penalties, and not having the financial information needed to expand or obtain capital. It is recommended that small business owners hire an accountant or bookkeeping service to properly maintain their financial records.

This document provides an overview of basic bookkeeping concepts including debits and credits, cash vs. accrual accounting, T-accounts, the chart of accounts, income and expense accounts, and how to set up journals, income statements, and a balance sheet. It discusses the importance of keeping accurate financial records for a business and introduces key accounting principles and terminology.
The document discusses different Christian denominations' views on salvation - Baptist view salvation as by grace through faith alone, Catholic view works as justifying faith, Church of Christ view requires belief and baptism. It then examines how to properly interpret scripture by distinguishing between time periods - the "time past" focused on God's promises to Israel, while the "but now" includes Gentiles. During Jesus' ministry and Acts 1-7, the early church's message was directed to Israel to repent, but they fell so salvation could come to the Gentiles.

This document provides a summary of key biblical prophecies and doctrines from a sermon by Bro. Jimmy S. Garin. It discusses the importance of revelation to believers, explaining concepts like the seven seals and seven thunders from the book of Revelation. Several Bible passages are examined, highlighting prophecies about Israel, the end times, God's sovereignty, election, and the mystery of the gospel. In conclusion, it suggests we may be living in the time period described by the opening of the seven seals and reveals the mysteries contained within.

Numbers Chapters 15-16, Defiant, presumptuous sin, strange fire again, grumbling against the Lord, owning the land does not mean possessing it, bread dough, unintentional sin, sins of ignorance, gathering sticks a capital offense, Biblical blue tassel, snail, Korah's rebellion
This document discusses the necessity of salvation through Jesus Christ. It begins by explaining that we must understand God's holiness and our own sinfulness and unrighteousness. It then explains who Jesus is as the Word made flesh, who lived a sinless life and died for our sins. We are called to repent of our sins, deny ourselves, and follow Christ by taking up our cross. Counting the full cost of discipleship is required. Finally, it emphasizes that salvation through Jesus is worth any cost, as it is the only way to be reconciled to God and spared from His wrath.
The document examines evidence from the Bible to determine if Jesus can truly be considered the son of God. It presents several passages that refer to Israelites, David, and others as God's "son" in a metaphorical sense. It also questions the authority and teachings of Paul, who first identified Jesus as the son of God, noting ways in which Paul contradicted the teachings and example of Jesus. The document concludes that the Bible does not confirm Jesus as the literal son of God, and that Christianity embraced the teachings of Paul, who may have been an anti-Christ for distorting earlier monotheistic teachings.

This document discusses the need for intense engagement in evangelism. It notes that billions are dying without Christ and churches may cease to exist unless more is done to meet this need. However, the need is not being met due to a lack of concern, knowledge, courage, faith and focus among Christians. The document urges Christians to fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples, to love others by offering salvation, and to have the zeal of the early church. It argues intense engagement is needed because of God's command, to show love for others, and because of the joy in saving souls and the terror of judgment day. The conclusion calls Christians to restore the church's original mission of intense engagement in God's vineyard.
This document discusses the need for Christians to engage intensely in evangelism. It notes that billions are dying without Christ and churches may cease to exist unless more is done to spread the gospel. Some reasons evangelism is not being done effectively include a lack of concern, knowledge, courage, faith and focus among Christians. The document urges Christians to fulfill Christ's command to make disciples of all nations and show love for others by sharing the gospel. It encourages emulating the evangelistic zeal of the early church to fulfill their purpose and experience the joy of saving souls.
1) The document provides background information on the book of 1 John, including its author (John), purpose of writing (so readers may have full joy and not sin), and key themes (perseverance of the saints, nature of sin, sons of God).
2) It examines several passages in depth, explaining theological concepts like the neuter usage regarding Jesus, distinction between singular and plural references to sin, and definition of sin involving transgression of Mosaic law.
3) Passages about seeing God, deception, and idolatry are discussed in the context of warnings for believers during the end times tribulation period concerning taking the mark of the beast or swearing oaths to the antichrist.
The document discusses two paths in life according to the Bible - the broad path leading to destruction and death versus the narrow path leading to life. It explores what the paths entail, including that all have sinned but can be saved through repenting and believing in Jesus, who died for sins and was resurrected. The document encourages examining one's own path and considering placing one's faith in Jesus to receive salvation and eternal life.

Peter explains to other believers that God had shown him a vision telling him it was acceptable to preach to Gentiles. He recounts visiting Cornelius, a Gentile, where the Holy Spirit fell upon those listening before they were baptized. When questioned about this later, Peter recounts the vision and emphasizes that God had given the Gentiles the Holy Spirit, showing God had accepted them. The other believers then accept that God had granted repentance and salvation to Gentiles as well.
This document provides summaries of several Bible passages about the five-fold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. It discusses their purpose of perfecting saints, doing the work of ministry, and building up the body of Christ. It also defines the roles of each position, with apostles being missionaries who set things in order, and prophets being people who receive the word of God and foresee future events. The overall message is about the importance of these ministries in preaching the gospel and bringing people to unity in faith.
Psalm 8, What Is Man That God Cares For Him? What does it mean to be made in ...Valley Bible Fellowship
Greg Koukl questions what it means to be human and discusses the implications of different views. The document summarizes Koukl's argument that if we are just "highly evolved pond scum" without purpose, there is no basis for morality. It then analyzes what the Bible says about humanity's status and role, finding that we are made in God's image and crowned with glory and dominion over creation.
Christians And The Law; Ten Commandments; Law Of Christ; Liberty Not License;...Valley Bible Fellowship
The document discusses a Christian's relationship to the law. It argues that Christians are not under the Mosaic law but under the law of Christ. It asserts that the Bible does not divide the Mosaic law into civil, ceremonial and moral categories and that Christians are freed from the law through Jesus' fulfillment of it. Christians' obligation is to love God and their neighbor, fulfilling the whole law.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.
The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.
Introduction
Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.
Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1

wicked will be charged against him. [Jeremiah
31:29-30, Ezekiel 18:2-4]
8. God Is Completely Just, Fair

willfully after receiving the knowledge of the
truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for
sins...
• NAU Hebrews 9:27And inasmuch as it is
appointed for men to die once and after this
comes judgment, 28 so Christ also, having been

11. An Age Of Not Yet
Knowing Good From Bad
• Rom 7:9 Once I was alive apart from law; but when
the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I
died.

be taken captive, your children who do not yet
know good from bad--they will enter the land. I will
give it to them and they will take possession of it.

every one of you twenty years old or more who was
counted in the census and who has grumbled against
me.
• Josh 5:4 Now this is why he did so: All those who
came out of Egypt-all the men of military age-died
in the desert on the way after leaving Egypt.
12. Accountable Or Able To Understand
• NAU Nehemiah 10:28 Now the rest of the
people, the priests, the Levites, the
gatekeepers, the singers, the temple servants
and all those who had separated themselves
from the peoples of the lands to the law of
God, their wives, their sons and their
daughters, all those who had knowledge and
understanding,
• Ex 30:13-15 …14 All who cross over, those
twenty years old or more, are to give an
offering to the LORD… 15 “…to make
atonement for yourselves….
13. Romans Chapter 5 Is A Must
Read
• NAU Romans 5:12-13; 12 Therefore, just as
through one man sin entered into the world,
and death through sin, and so death spread to
all men, because all sinned— 13 for until the
Law sin was in the world, but sin is not
imputed when there is no law.
14. God Freely Gives Justification
• NAU Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to
these things? If God is for us, who is against
us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but
delivered Him over for us all, how will He not
also with Him freely give us all things? 33 Who
will bring a charge against God's elect? God is
the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who
condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes,
rather who was raised, who is at the right
hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
15. God Freely Gives Justification

anyone to perish, but everyone to come
to repentance.

17. God Is Gracious And Merciful
• NAU Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have
been saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves, it is the gift of God;
• God can bestow that gift according to His
righteousness, and His righteousness is not
tarnished if He counts the sins, sinfulness,
and sin nature of these “little ones” as
paid in full by the sacrifice of His Son. If
He paid the fine, who are we to say He is
not being just or fair?
18. A Few Other Verses To Examine
• Here are some other verses I have found
in my studies. Examine them yourself
(Acts 17:11) in light of Scripture; Rom.
5:13,7:9, 9:11, Isa.7:16, 2 Sam.12:23,
Eccl.6:3, Ex.30:14, Neh.10:28, Josh.5:4,
Gen. 18:25, Jonah 4:11, Mt.18:1-6, 19:14.
• My PowerPoint on;
slideshare.net/dkooyers;
• Numbers Chapters 26-28
19. Where does that leave us now?
NAU Acts 17:28 for in Him we live and move and exist, as even
some of your own poets have said, 'For we also are His children.'
29 "Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the
Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by
the art and thought of man. 30 "Therefore having overlooked the
times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people
everywhere should repent, 31 because He has fixed a day in which
He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He
has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him
from the dead."
19
20. Where does that leave us now?
Matthew 28:19 …”go there for and make disciples of all the
nations…”
Proverbs 22:6 …give instruction to her youth about his way, even
when he is old he will turneth not from it.”
20

gift.
• NAU John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My
word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and
does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death
into life.
• NAU Galatians 4:4-6 But when the fulness of the time came,
God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
in order that He might redeem those who were under the

25. A Biblical Age Of
Accountability?
Age Of Accountability, Twenty
Years Old, Numbers Chapters 26-28
Editor's Notes
Hello I'm Pastor Dave Kooyers and I find a lot of people that are very concerned about the eternal destiny of the unborn, the very young, and even the mentally handicapped. This often brings up the question of whether the Bible speaks about an age of accountability. [CLICK]
http://www.amazon.com/Pastors-Manual-Doing-Church-Growth/dp/097170094X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=8-2&keywords=a+pastor%27s+manual+on+doing
As I taught through the book of Numbers I notice that the phrase “twenty years old.” [CLICK] It is used 19 times there, in the new American Standard Bible. That is 7 times more than in any other NAS book of the Bible. [CLICK]
Numbers 26:2 further defines the 20-year-old and upward ones as "whoever is able to go to war” this struck me as a little strange, since almost every nation chooses older teenagers to be their soldiers.
Yet, God in His sovereignty decreed the “20 years old” age limit, for His purpose. A divine line in the sand was drawn, not based on human reasoning. It seems God punished everyone over 20, and no one under twenty. [CLICK]
Numbers 14:29 brings in another qualifier, those; “who have grumbled against Me.” If you know teenagers, it seems impossible that 100% of the under 20’s did not grumble. It’s reasonable to also speculate that there were 17-19 year olds who were heads of households, whose father’s had died, who would have had to decide to join Joshua and Caleb, or the grumblers. The Bible does not record anyone under twenty punished for their sin in this.
Many people think this repeated phrase seems to indicate that God did not account the sin of refusing to enter the land to those under “twenty years old.” So, who were these under twenty’s? [CLICK]
When the 12 Hebrew spies went [CLICK] out and 10 gave a bad report, the people grumbled and said in [CLICK] Numbers 14:3 "Why is the LORD bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will become plunder; would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?” [CLICK]
Then Numbers 14:29 and 31, seem to indicate that those under twenty years old were not punished for grumbling.. [CLICK]
This causes many to wonder about an age of accountability.
But first, let’s consider what an age of accountability does not mean. [CLICK]
An age of accountability does not mean, or even imply that there is any age when humans are not sinners by nature, without sin, or not a son of Adam. The Scriptures are very clear; [CLICK] in Romans 5:12 That, “through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned” Then in Romans 3, God's Word says that, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;… and also in verse 23 that, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” And [CLICK] Ecclesiastes 12:14 promises a judgment to come, “For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.” Is also very clear that we all are afflicted with a sin nature from conception. [CLICK]
Our very being, and nature is sinful. No one has to teach us to sin, it is the core of our being. [CLICK]
Ps 51:5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
Yet, I can’t think of a verse that says we will suffer eternal torment because we were born with a sin nature. Instead, God’s Word says He will punish every sin. We are all sons of the 1st. Adam and consequentially need the Last Adam, Jesus Christ. Because, as descendants of Adam, we inherited a sin nature from him, and we bear the consequences of his sin, but not Adam’s punishment. God says He will not punish the children for the sins of the father; [CLICK] Ezek 18:20 The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him. See also, [Jeremiah 31:29-30, Ezekiel 18:2-4] [CLICK]
Yes, God Is completely just, and fair, and that justice includes [CLICK] Hebrews 10:26 "or if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, There no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.” As well as Hebrews 9:27 [CLICK] , “…it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment…” [CLICK] Here are a few other verses worth studying. God Is Completely Just, Fair, Yet it seems that in God’s infinite justice, and sovereignty, He can account people’s sin to His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. [CLICK]
God paid the penalty, so… in his abundant grace he can account sins of people to Jesus. [CLICK] Romans 9:18 says, “Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.” And Ps 32:2 [CLICK] says, “Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him” [CLICK]
The Bible does not mention an age of accountability, or even address the issue directly. Yet, there are some of the verses worth studying; In [CLICK] Matt 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Solomon said in Eccl 6:3 [CLICK] says, “…I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.” Then we have King David, who after the Bathsheba sin, when he was grieving for his dying son, he fasted and lay all night on the ground. But when finally the child died, he said, in [CLICK] ; 2 Sam 12:23, “But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me." It certainly seems that King David assumed the same eternal destiny for his dead infant as he did for himself. And from Psalm 23:6 we know where he felt his eternal destiny was because he said "I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” Then in [CLICK] Isaiah 7:15-16, Isaiah says, “He will eat curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right. 16 But before the boy knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right…” [CLICK]
In the New Testament, we have Paul who was a Jew born under the Law from birth, “circumcised on the eighth day” it says in Phil 3:5, yet he says in, [CLICK] Rom 7:9 Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.” This brings up the question of when was Paul “alive apart from law”?
Then in [CLICK] Deut 1:39 from Moses we get a little more insight about these “little ones” who were under 20; “And the little ones that you said would be taken captive, your children who do not yet know good from bad--they will enter the land. I will give it to them and they will take possession of it.” Remember, these are everyone under the age of 20. [CLICK] because everyone over at the age of 20 died in the desert. [CLICK]
Wow! have you ever known anyone under twenty who did “not yet know good from bad”? Either the Bible has a huge mistake here, or God is not counting the children's sins against them. [CLICK]
Nehemiah makes a distinction in [CLICK] 10:28 he refers to “their sons and their daughters, all those who had knowledge and understanding” and some think this excludes those without mental competence. Then as they are ready to enter the land, the LORD decrees in [CLICK] Ex 30:13-15 that; “… All who cross over, those twenty years old or more, are to give an offering to the LORD. And God explains in verse 15 “…to make atonement for yourselves.” Why did those under 20 not need an offering to make atonement for themselves? God made a sovereign decree here concerning the accounting of the sins of these “under twenty’s". God said it, that settles it. [CLICK]
All of Romans Chapter 5 is a must read concerning how by grace we can be justified by faith, and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. [CLICK]
NAU Romans 5:1-21… 12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned-- 13 for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
The statement that “sin is not imputed when there is no law" causes many to wonder what the law is within the womb, Or for the mentally incompetent. Yet, many argue vigorously against the idea of an age of accountability. [CLICK]
I think before anyone scoffs at the idea that God would be so gracious as to pardon these “little ones” of Deut.1:39, who have “no knowledge of good or evil”, who are under “twenty years old” they should consider, and weigh in, how loving, kind, long suffering, and patient He is. [CLICK] And remember that it is He who elects, calls, justifies, and glorifies, and He alone can account someones sins to the cross of Christ. We are not the judge, we don’t get to decide who, how, or when God will punish sin.
He elects, calls, justifies, and glorifies, and He alone can account some ones sins to the cross of Christ
[CLICK]
So I think any scoffers that reject God’s sovereignty in electing and saving children, should consider what Paul says in [CLICK] Romans 9:20; “On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God?…” And [CLICK] then also look at (Romans 14:4, James 4:12) [CLICK]
So, I think, when we consider abortion, the death of a still born child, or a person mentally retarded from birth, we are evaluating God’s fairness more than the child’s capacity or condition. There is no question that every human from the beginning deserves hell (there are none righteous) Yet God’s Word says; [CLICK] In;
Ezek 18:23 Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live? [CLICK] And in
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is ….not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. [CLICK]
NAU Psalm 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb; These who speak lies go astray from birth.
The question is; “Is God gracious and merciful, and does He have the right to credit a child’s sin to His crucified Son?” [CLICK]
We see that God is gracious and merciful in [CLICK] ; Ephesians 2:8, “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God” [CLICK]
God can bestow that gift according to His righteousness, and His righteousness is not tarnished if He counts the sins, sinfulness, and sin nature of these “little ones” as paid in full by the sacrifice of His Son. If He paid the fine, who are we to say He is not being just or fair? [CLICK]
Here are a few other verses [CLICK] you can study concerning this. You can pause the video at this point and look them up in context yourself. I will also include some articles by other Bible teachers after the ”THE END" slide of my PowerPoint presentation on Numbers 26–28 [CLICK] , at [CLICK] www.slideshare.net/dkooyers. [CLICK] You can download this PowerPoint for free and copy and paste these articles into a word document. But, I know some of you are saying, “Well Pastor Dave that sounds fine for 3500 years ago, under the theocracy, when Israel was about to conquer the land, but where does that leave us now? I know that my child is a sinner and needs a Savior.” Well, I'm glad that you asked because Paul seems to touch on this when he spoke to the unbelievers in… [CLICK]
Acts 17:28, “for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, 'For we also are His children.' 29 "Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man. 30 "Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, 31 because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.” Did you catch that in verse 30? God's Word says that there was “times of ignorance” but now “all people everywhere should repent”. The translation "all people everywhere" is from the Greek word anthropos and it is translated that way in the NAU, the NET, the NJB. And the NIV translates it "everyone everywhere”. Everyone must understand their sinful condition before God, that Jesus Christ is the only Savior, and trust in his finished work on the cross. There is no more important message to convey to our children and to everyone else. [CLICK]
Child evangelism is not only essential, it is an imperative commandment to us. In [CLICK] Matthew 28:19 Jesus commanded His followers to "go there for and make disciples of all the nations…” and that includes everyone. Gods word in [CLICK] Proverbs 22:6 commands us to "give instruction to her youth about his way, even when he is old he will turneth not from it.” And the NIV translates this verse as "start children off on the way they should go…” The New Testament in about 150 places indicates that salvation from the eternal penalty for our sins is a gift. Please go forth and offer this free gift to everyone. [CLICK]
Because, it is an unspeakable gift [CLICK] worth more than we can imagine. Jesus said in [CLICK] , John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
Whatever age you are, if you do not know that you have “passed out of death into life” because your sin debt has been paid for by Jesus Christ, then you need to talk to God right now about your sins. [CLICK] because Jesus’ sacrifice paid the penalty for sin and provided a way for you to be reconciled with God. Ask Him to account your sins to Jesus so they are paid in full, and to account the sinless, perfect, righteousness of Jesus Christ to you. Because the Bible says [CLICK] in, NIV John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”. [CLICK] Ask God for that gift of eternal life that He offers you, and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. [CLICK]
So, in conclusion. If you are one of the multitudes of people who are deeply grieved about the loss of a little one. You can take comfort in the fact that God changes not. Even though, he does deal with different groups of people, in different times, in different ways. [CLICK] Remember that God is love, and also what Jesus said in [CLICK], Mark 10:14 “…Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” If you have little ones now, explain the good news to them and offer them Christ’s gift of eternal life. Norm Geisler recounts when his four-year-old grandson received Jesus Christ as Savior. And God has blessed me by allowing me to be with my five year old grandson when his sins were paid for by Jesus Christ. Please, do not leave anyone wondering about an age of accountability, take the time now to explain the good news of Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection and offer of a free gift of eternal life. Help them to settle this issue concretely today my receiving Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. [CLICK]
I hope this has helped your understanding of what the Bible teaches about the salvation of the unborn, very small children, and those without mental capacity.
