The Legend of Zelda series was inspired by game designer Shigeru Miyamoto's childhood explorations of forests, lakes, and villages. • The franchise has sold over 67.93 million copies by 2011,with the
original The Legend of Zelda being the fourth best selling NES game
of all time
• Ranked as the 64th top game (collectively) by Next Generation in
1996.

realised world and the most varied game-play of any title on any
console, Zelda is a solid bet for the best game series ever."
