6. The Zillai Constitution
One of the first organisation to be formed yet without any set of
rules governing the office bearers until 25th year if existence.
The constitution was initiated during the term of Pu S. Doliand
Capvung in 1964.

“In Words and In Deeds”
Originally Coined by Pu S. Doliand Capvung as “Not
only in Words, But also in Deeds” (1960’s)
“In Words & in Deeds” suggested by Pu Soitinkhup
Vaiphei, the then General Secretary was accepted and
approved later.

The Golden Sixties 1960-1969: Under the leadership of Pu P.
Kamlam and Pu Kaihau Vaiphei Zillai registered as Vaiphei
Students’ Association.
The Period Memorable for its crowd pulling activities and
entertainers like Vaiphei Dramatic Union and Vaiphei
Primary Circus.

23rd Conference held at Lingsiphai Village 1974 gave the first
ever Zillai Souvenir “The First Fruit” entrusted to HK.

26th Conference at S. Kotlian Village 1977 breached the
magical 1000 mark
1983 : With the support of S. Minlianthang, it was resolved to
use North East India (NEI) alongside Zillai
1984 : The first Zillai sports meet was held at Salampatong
Village under the leadership of Pu. T Manga Vaiphei & Pu
Khailianthang

resolved to delete NEI from the Official name of Zillai

18. It can be seen from the presentation that the
Zillai Organisation despite its humble
beginnings shows various transitions
throughout the years. From what started to
unify the vaiphei speaking group, it came
about to break the dialectical barrier and
bring forth friendship with others. From what
started to be merry making and interactions,
the organization itself has adapted to the
needs of quality educations and the
importance of encouraging it.
