What is an editor…
 Edwin Porter was the first person to edit a film, and he made a famous fire

 The editor needs to tell a story with rhythm in order for it to make sense
 Editing is one of the most key parts of making a film
 People like editing because they want to edit there own lives much like a
film. They want to remove the bad bits and cut out the slow bits.
Jump cut
 It is an abrupt switch from one screen to another, and it is used for dramatic
effect
Cross cut
 A cut from one story or line of action to another
 Mostly used in films to establish action happening
Camera movement/the 180 degree rule

 The editor must know how the shots will match up when filming so that the
movement is smooth
