2. If + present, will/won’t + verb
• Use if + present to talk about a possible situation and
will/won’t + verb to talk about the consequence.
If I miss the last bus, I’ll get a taxi
If you tell her the truth, she won’t believe you
What will you do if she doesn’t call you?

3. If + present, will/won’t + verb
• The if-clause can go first or second
If I miss the last bus, I’ll get a taxi
I’ll get a taxi if I miss the last bus
• If the if-clause comes first, use a comma before the
next clause
If I miss the last bus,I’ll get a taxi

4. If + present, imperative/can
• You can also use the imperative or can + verb instead
of will/won’t+verb
If you miss the last bus, get a taxi
If you miss the last bus, you can get a taxi
