Corporate Coworking - Leveraging Coworking to Increase Innovation in your Company.
Corporate coworking is the application of the principles of the global
coworking movement in corporate environments. In building communities
grounded in trust, openness, autonomy, and creativity, coworking spaces
have become some of the most innovative work environments in the world!
Through our proprietary program, OpenWork delivers the coworking
experience to companies seeking to ‘open up their cultural operating system’
to become more creative and innovative
Jacob Sayles and Susan Evans of Office Nomads put together this presentation for a Great City Brown Bag on 7/8/2010. This presentation references their coworking space in Capitol Hill: Office Nomads.
In order for Franklin to grow and evolve in a sustainable manner, the city must
recognize the economic realities of post-industrial America. The primary resource
that desirable businesses search for when looking for a community within which
to take root is a well‐educated, digitally‐enabled, creative, and motivated
workforce.
That digitally‐enabled workforce, in turn, is less dependent upon geography,
making the qualities of individual places matter much more in locational
decisions.

The future role of NGOs - Miquel de Paladella, 15 April 2013UpSocial
The presentation of Miquel de Paladella on April 15, 2013 at ESADE Institute for Social Innovation, on the future role of NGOs. He argues about the need to back to the roots for most NGOs, meaning: Social Innovation. He also proposes how social innovation could be implemented in the different NGOs playing different roles.
Innovation through Experience Design: Designers as InnovatorsJason Ulaszek
The pressure to create amazing, groundbreaking product and service experiences has intensified within just about every industry. Entire industries are now competing heavily on larger, connected ecosystems, not just individualized experiences. Competing organizations are increasingly enlisting designers to help bring clarity to decisions supporting the what, where, how and when of it all. In turn, the pressure point becomes the designer.
Designers possess the ability to influence the creation and design of new products and services. Sometimes they’re even given opportunity to influence business model transformation. But, what about innovation? Do designers possess the ability to disrupt the status quo and become the innovator? And, are they ready for it? I think so. And, after this session I think you’ll see why too.
Together, we’ll examine the role of an experience designer as an innovator and the skills designers command that can engineer new business opportunity and effect social change. We’ll share examples, models and skills that you’ll need in order to lead the charge.

Design will never be the same

Ten Step Guide to the Perfect Coworking Space Stevie Glaveski
With almost 2,500 coworking spaces worldwide since DeskMag’s last coworking survey in February 2013, the quality of coworking spaces is imperative to fulfill their mission and ensure that they keep their doors open.
This guide highlights key takeaways from Steve Glaveski’s Ten Step Guide to Perfect Coworking.
An ExO is a purpose driven project and the MTP paves the way toward two amazing opportunities.
The nature of the purpose is to convey the identity of the entrepreneurial project, to transmit it to the world (inside and outside the project ecosphere).
For this reason, it is indispensable to building a modern brand, whose essence goes well beyond the sphere of the product or the service and it reaches the unconscious sphere to meet the emotions of clients, collaborators, investors, shareholders and suppliers so as to create with all of them a new brand experience dimension.
The paradox of the massive transformative purpose is in its intangible nature that nevertheless concretizes and conveys the most authentic way of being of the entrepreneurial project, allowing it to emerge from the noisy context of modern communication.
The work of the framework, if done with seriousness, places the entrepreneur in front of a choice:
1) inspiring all the communication of the entrepreneurial project (new or pre-existing) to what emerged from the five questions, using it as a not negligible competitive advantage to building a modern brand,
2) or starting the ExO project: in this case, the first and only mandatory among the ExO model exponential attributes, is ready with other indispensable elements to building a modern brand identity.

Coworking, Incubators, & Accelerators - What's the Difference?Paul O'Brien
As our experience with acquiring working capital evolves, from the comfort with risk on the part of VCs in your town shifting over time to the introduction of Crowdfunding as a serious source of capital, entrepreneurs everywhere are trying to understand not just how to connect, network, and collaborate, but how to develop relationships with the right investors. Incubators, accelerators, and coworking spaces are the place to start.
Finding the right fit for you as a person, your team, and your passion, is critical. To wit, the initial Boston operation of Y Combinator was closed out of frustration with New England’s typical investment style; making it difficult for Y Combinator’s consumer, web-based ventures to to receive funding.
Suggesting that where, precisely, matters more than if you get in, no?
To know where and how you fit, you have to explore your community from the 30,000 foot view and first ask why such resources exist. What role do coworking spaces, incubators, and accelerators play in your community? How do they benefit you? And why should you get involved?

Due to a typographical error, 7,800 coworking spaces were projected for 2015, the correct projection was 8,700.

The PSFK Future of Work Report deep dives into the talent and development landscape to identify the conditions and qualities that cultivate tomorrow’s leaders in the workplace. In return for investing in greater opportunity and education, employers will reap the rewards of increased efficiency, engagement and entrepreneurship—reducing mistrust, stress and ultimately turnover across teams.
Additionally, PSFK has developed six workplace visions that were inspired by 10 strategies to develop a new era of internal leadership. These boundary-pushing product and workplace concepts reimagine how teams can onboard employees, expand the office, and prevent miscommunication.
This report uncovers major themes, key trends and opportunities to help you grow your business and progress your career into the future. Available in different formats to buy or just preview, the themes of PSFK's Future of Work report cover the Ideal Workforce, Empowered Culture, Intuitive Connection and Agile Workplaces. PSFK extends its 'Future of' reports with the 140 page document that covers the new ways we are working and the implications for business and for workers.
Within each theme we describe 4 trends and each trend is supported by 4 examples, supporting statistics and implications defined by our PSFK Labs team. During this process we spoke to a number of experts to understand the trends better. Their feedback can be found in quotes and interviews throughout the report.
As a bonus, we also turned to a number of creative agencies to bring the trends to life. We asked them to imagine the future of work and you will find their concepts within this document. At the end of the report, you will also discover the submission of examples of progressive work environments. These were submitted by the readers of PSFK.com after we asked for their input into the report in 2012.
We hope that you find inspiration in every section of PSFK's Future of Work report. For copies, downloads or an in-person presentation please visit: http://bit.ly/VghG9z

Brochure The Taste of Innovation | Beyond Performance Experience
How to build your 10x-ValueFactory in 90 days (introduction)
Wendy Woods - Sr. Partner Boston Consulting Group: “Smart, committed people. They are our most precious and powerful resource. And many of the innovations that people have created recently enable even more people to contribute in even more substantial ways. That’s a significant part of why I’m so optimistic about our future.”
Ed Catmull - Co-founder Pixar: “Talent is rare. Management’s job is not to prevent risk but to build the capability to recover when failures occur.”

new life into an old model by allowing
static corporate offices to evolve into
true hubs of dynamic, collaborative
innovation.
10 | Fifth Age Program
11. We know that disruptive innovation occurs
at the level of customer experience. Apple,
Amazon, GE, 3M, P&G, WL Gore, and
Google are consistently at the top of lists
of the most innovative companies in the
world. But how do they do it?
What kinds of structures, processes,
capabilities, policies, and patterns of human
interaction are at work to make them
successful innovators?
Each of these companies has developed the
capacity to innovate by mastering the Three
Building Blocks of Innovation.
Our Framework
11 | Fifth Age Program
12. Talent
In order for a diversity of ideas and outputs
to flourish, there needs to be a sufficient
variety of talent (left-brain and right brain)
that can bring fresh perspective and skills
to the table.
Space
While there will always be a need for
private, individual work and workspaces,
innovation is driven by group work and
is grounded in collaboration. Rather than
being the exception, group work needs to
become the rule.
License
Talented knowledge workers want choice-
where they work, when they work, how
they work, and what they are working on.
Giving them this flexibility and autonomy
drives their energy, engagement, and
productivity.

from three coffee shops a day in
order to meet his needs for inspi-
ration and human connection.
In 2008, having recognized the
growing common need for stim-
ulating, community-driven work
environments, David launched
Austin’s first coworking space,
Conjunctured, which went on to
be a cultural and market leader in
a city of innovation.

the subject of coworking and offers
his expertise through consulting
with a passion for authentic ex-
pression, personal empowerment,
