Plot Overview:
The music video for the song, She’s Hearing Voices by Bloc Party, is going to centre around a
teen who struggles with mental health problems. They have good friends and are loved very
much. The band featured in the music video is formed of the protagonist’s classmates. At
the beginning of the video these characters are very real, although as time elapses the
audience is shown these characters aren’t real after all and these are the visual
representation of the voices the protagonist hears. The protagonist also comes to realise
this at the same time as the audience does.
Character Overview:
The drummer is not real. They seem very real to the audience at the beginning, however
they ‘glitch’ and seemprogressively fake as the video reaches the end. At the end of the
bridge, at the lyrics, ‘I was never alive’, the singer falls to the ground and disappears from
the screen, the rest of the band follows suit and also disappears after this. They feel
conflicted about what to do regarding how the singer treats the protag, they want to help
them but they also don’t want to make the singer annoyed at them.

They have good friends and are loved very much. The band featured in the music video is formed of the protagonist’s classmates. At the beginning of the video these characters are very real, although as time elapses the audience is shown these characters aren’t real after all and these are the visual representation of the voices the protagonist hears. The protagonist also comes to realise this at the same time as the audience does. Character Overview: The drummer is not real. They seem very real to the audience at the beginning, however they ‘glitch’ and seemprogressively fake as the video reaches the end. At the end of the bridge, at the lyrics, ‘I was never alive’, the singer falls to the ground and disappears from the screen, the rest of the band follows suit and also disappears after this. They feel conflicted about what to do regarding how the singer treats the protag, they want to help them but they also don’t want to make the singer annoyed at them.
