• As the world is fighting against the COVID-
19 outbreak, students around the world have been
impacted by Universities, Colleges and schools
closings and disruption.
• In a situation like this it is normal to feel sad, worried,
confused, scared or angry. Learn how students in the
affected countries keep learning and stay positive in
times of uncertainty.
• Have you also been affected by Universities, Colleges
and school closures? Are you staying home due to
quarantines? Stay safe, follow the guidance issued by
health authorities and take care of yourself. You can
also share your story with Voices of Youth on social
media!

3. •As the coronavirus disease continues to spread,
governments across the globe are enforcing
crackdowns to slow the spread of the virus.
•Lockdown," "shelter-in-place," and "stay-at-
home" are sometimes used interchangeably, but
restrictions vary by the nation, state, or city that
has issued the order.

4. CHINA
• The orders can differ in strictness. Residents on lockdown in Wuhan,
China, where the virus originated, can only send one household
member outside every 72 hours to gather food and medical
supplies.
• Nearly a third of Americans are currently living under a shelter-in-
place order and can leave their home for essential needs, like for
groceries or to go for a walk.

5. • India's recently announced lockdown will strictly
enforce a ban on anyone leaving their homes.
• In Italy and France, residents are required to carry
special government-issued paperwork if they step
outside during lockdowns.

1. Talk to someone you trust, like your parent or
teacher, educate yourself and get information from
reliable sources.
2. Protect yourself and others wash your hands
frequently, remember to not touch your face and do
not share cups, eating utensils, food or drinks with
others.
3. Be a leader in keeping yourself, your school, family
and community healthy, sharing good practices such
as sneezing or coughing into your elbow.
4. Don’t stigmatize your peers or tease anyone about
being sick, remember that the virus doesn’t follow
geographical boundaries, ethnicities, age or ability or
gender.
5. Tell your parents, another family member, or a
caregiver if you feel sick, and ask to stay home.
