The iron ore production has significantly expanded in recent years, owing to increasing steel demands in developing countries.
However, the content of iron in ore deposits has deteriorated and low-grade iron ore has been processed.
The fine ores resulting from the concentration process must be agglomerated for use in iron and steelmaking.
Bentonite is the most used binder due to favorable mechanical and metallurgical pellet properties, but it contains impurities especially silica and alumina.
Better quality wet, dry, preheated, and fired pellets can be produced with combined binders, such as organic and inorganic salts, when compared with bentonite-bonded pellets.
While organic binders provide sufficient wet and dry pellet strengths, inorganic salts provide the required preheated and fired pellet strengths.

Cement industry is one of the major markets for industrial fans. Fans in cement industry are heavy duty and perform two basic functions i.e., supply of air or removal of exhaust gases and material handling. There are many process fans that find applications in cement industry such as raw mill fans, induced draft fans, cooling fans, raw mill exhaust fans, coal mill fans and cooler exhaust fans.

This research establishes the correlation between clinker quality, residue, particle size distribution and performance behaviour of cement. Different qualities of clinker were identified to understand the influence of mineralogy on the performance of cement. Chemical and mineralogical evaluation of clinker and gypsum were carried out as per the Indian specified standards, XRD and Optical microscopy. Cement samples were prepared by inter mixing of clinker and gypsum with 95 and 5% respectively for different fineness zones such as 225, 250, 275, 300, 325 and 350 m2/kg. The resultant samples were studied for residue, particle size distribution and performance evaluation as per IS 4031. It was observed that clinker quality plays an important role to achieve the desired performance characteristics in addition to the residue and particle size distribution of the cements.

ABSTRACT: Cement Industry is a very big Industry. It has many sub-units, in which some are fully
automated and some are semi-automated. These fully automated sub-units are controlled by
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The aim of this paper is to convert the semi- automated clicker
cooling systems into clicker cooling fully. Pre-Heater is a process in which materials are subjected to high
temperatures at 1400 to 1500oC to bring a chemical change. This is fed into the Kiln. Kiln is a hollow
cylinder with refractory lining rotating at variable speed. The temperature inside the kiln is 1300 to 1400
oC and the material undergoes various reactions. The product obtained from the Kiln is called Clinker.
Coolers are used to cool the clinkers to a temperature of about 300oC. This automated system is
automated using PLC. The proposed system is simulated using INDRA WORKS Engineering, which is
firmware of BOSCH REXROTH PLC’s.

Cements Industry was a very big fully automated
industry and it is controlling by PLC. The raw
materials of cement are calcium carbonate, Silica,
alumina and iron which are generally extracted from
Limestone rock [1], chalk, and clay. These raw

crushed lime stone of size less than 10mm is
transported through conveyor to the limestone stock
pile to stack under covered shed through tipper
conveyor. From the limestone stock pile material with
uniform quality will be transported to hopper through
belt conveyor.
B. Hoppers
There are three Hoppers in which two bigger hoppers
are limestone hoppers and comparatively small
hopper is iron hopper [2]. If the iron content is less in
the mixture, then it automatically adds iron in the
required quantity.
C. Raw mill and Ball meal preparation
Raw mill is a ball mill meant for grinding limestone,
latertite and iron ore of size below 10mm to less than
212 micron size this powdered material is called “raw
meal” and is transported to storage silo.
D. Blending Silo and Kiln feed extraction system

produced by raw mill and also facilitates blending
through aeration system to homogenize and maintain
consistent quality of raw meal. Homogenized raw mill

Production of plaster of paris using solar energyeSAT Journals
Abstract Plaster of Paris (POP) is an important building material. Most of the units producing POP are in small scale sector. These units use wood, coal to calcine gypsum. The average consumption of wood to produce one ton of POP is 300kg. The electrical energy constitutes only 5% while rest is thermal energy. Most of POP units are situated in western Rajasthan. This region has about 300-320 days of clear sun shine. Since thermal energy has major contribution in energy mix, it makes sense to supplement the same with concentrated solar technology. Experiments were conducted to establish feasibility. A commercial parabolic concentrator of 4 sqm was used to calcine small samples (5kg) and the result show great promise. An industrial method of producing POP using commercially available solar concentrator technologies (CST) has been proposed. The payback period is observed to be of the order of 4 years.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Workflow for the calcined gypsum plant
The nature gypsum ore is crushed into small particles(under 15mm), then send into the raw material
silo by the No.1 bucket elevator.
By the vibrating feeder, the gypsum granular are fed into roller mill to grind into 100-200 mesh
powder. Then flow into the transit(buffered) silo by the No.2 bucket elevator.
With the dosing screw conveyor the gypsum powder is fed into furnace boiler and reaches the
material bed area. The roots blower under the kettle blows the air into furnace to let the gypsum
powder into boiling statue. There are many coil pipes in the materials bed area, the heat conductive
oil is circulated in the tubes, release the heat into the inside of furnace. Under a certain temperature,
the dried and dehydrated powder become light, and flow to the outlet automatically. There is the
dust catcher to collect the dust and air at the roof of kettle, to make sure the boiling gypsum powder
in the balance condition.
After the calcining progress, the qualified powder will flow out to the No.3 bucket elevator. By the
lifting, the powder is transported into the final powder silo. After the temperature decrease down,
the calcined gypsum powder is packed into 25kg or 1 tons jumbo bags.

2. Without the wear part, simple structure
The furnace don’t has the running part. And due to the low-temperature source, the furnace does not
have any risk of being burnt in any condition.
3. Easy controlling, high heat exchange rate 67-76%
The feeding size, air flow speed, heating temperature can be controlled.
The heat oil tube and pipes temperature is uniform, heat transmission directly to powder.
4. Better quality for the final gypsum powder
Adopting the low temperature heat source, avoid the over-head situation, the anhydrite (CaSO4)
content under 5%.
