The British Board of Film Classification is an independent, non-
governmental body.
It has classified cinema films since it was set up in 1912 and
videos/ DVDs since the Video Recordings Act was passed in
1984.

4. Our thriller
To attract audiences we could consider doing what the producers of the
Woman in Black did and try to make it a 12a. It was successful for the
Woman in Black because fans of Daniel Radcliffe want to see where his
career would take him next.
Typically thrillers would be classified as 15 or 18 ratings.
If we aim for our thriller to have a 12a rating it means the film can appeal
to a wider audience.
