The BBC Trust is the governing body of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). It is responsible for setting the BBC's overall strategy and business performance, and assessing commercial proposals from the BBC Executive to ensure decisions are made in the best interests of license fee payers. The Trust, led by Chairman Rona Fairhead and consisting of 12 Trustees, oversees the BBC's operations and editorial output to ensure the BBC delivers its mission and the public receives the best value from the license fee.
