 With more than 20 years of medical experience, William D. Jones, MD, practices as an
occupational and preventive medicine physician in Oklahoma City, OK. Active in the OK
community, William D. Jones, MD, maintains a charitable commitment to the SWAT
Academy, a softball and baseball center, and the affiliated Angels Foundation.
The SWAT (Starts With Attitude and Toughness) Academy creates unique opportunities
for young athletes to develop their skills and character by playing on high-level softball
and baseball teams. In addition to their work on the field, players in the SWAT program
focus on reaching out to the community, and they support a number of nonprofits.
One of the main organizations with which the SWAT teams participate is the Angels
Foundation. This group raises funds to open doors for children in need. Through silent
auctions, homerun derbies, and other regular events, the foundation creates scholarships
that allow youth to play the sports they love and benefit from the invaluable experience
of being on teams with their peers.
In 2017, the SWAT Academy partnered with the Angels Foundation to host a charity
poker tournament. Prizes included a grill, tickets to see the Oklahoma City Thunder, and
a weeklong vacation at a luxury resort. All of the proceeds went to helping children get on
