Here’s a list I call the 7 Laws
of Branding:
LAW 1: Don’t use branding as an excuse just to get your name
out there, plan ahead.
LAW 2: Don’t try to win everyone over, only your target audience.
LAW 3: Always have a secret language, keep loyal folk in and
strays outside.
LAW 4: Build a tribe not a community, there is strength in the
former and room for weakness in the latter.
LAW 5: Be the brand not the Product or Service, branding is more
powerful than a product or service.
LAW 6: Separate yourself from the brand, so that it can outgrow
you and transform itself into a tank.
LAW 7: Never compromise on delivering a consistent product or
service, rather NOT deliver than under deliver.
