Literacy Technology Community_The Importance of Smart Technology in Workforce...Jan Stephens PhD
This document discusses the importance of technology access for adult education and workforce training. It notes that access to technology is now essential for full participation in 21st century education and training opportunities. The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) supports using technology to improve teaching, learning, and system efficiencies. However, many adults still lack basic literacy and job skills. Expanding access to technology and online learning resources through a "bring your own device" model could help address these issues by allowing literacy instruction and workforce training to reach more learners.
Education is becoming increasingly globalized and influenced by technology. Student exchanges across countries and continents are rising, and programs like the International Baccalaureate have contributed to internationalizing education. Technology also plays a growing role through online learning and tools that engage students. In the US, education is mainly provided through public schools with funding and oversight from federal, state, and local levels. It is compulsory and divided into elementary, middle, and high school levels with grades that group children by age.

Covid 19 is a social problem with both positive and negative implications on the people. A lot of studies were conducted on the negative implications of covid 19 on nation’s educational development, regrettably, there were paucity of scholarsly studies on the posivtive implication of this pandemic on the educational development in Nigeria. Therefore, this study seeks to fill this gap in scholarship by examining the positive implications of Covid 19 pandemic on educational development of tertiary institutions in the 21st century in Nigeria. Thus, the study was guided with three objectives and three corresponding research questions. The social change theory evolutionary perspectives and functionalist theory were used as the theoretical approaches to the study.. The study adopted a quantitative method, whereby, the survey design was adopted. The questionnaire instrument was used for data collection. The instrument was titled Covid 19 Pandemic Questionnaire CPQ and Educational Innovations, Improvement and Development Questionnaire EIIDQ . The four Likert scale SA, A, D and SD were also used. The sample size for the study was 400 derived through convenience sampling technique. The study equally used quota, purposive and accidental sampling techniques. Simple percentage, mean and standard deviation were used for data analysis. The paper reveals that apart from the negative outcome, the outbreak of covid 19 in Rivers State brought about positive outcome in the tertiary institutions, as there were perceived improvement, innovations and development in the system, through the use of online or e learning medium. Therefore, the study recommends that teachers who are the pioneer of teaching or education, should even at this period of time when there is ease of the pandemic, utilize or subject the students with e learning so as to avoid shock in case of future occurrence, and also, that teachers and students should do the needful to ensure they improve on ICT skills in case there is need for e learning. This document discusses the rapid growth of technology and distance education globally. It proposes that Turkey could take on a leadership role in the region by organizing distance education institutions from countries in Southeast Europe, the Balkans, the Baltics, Central Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. Turkey is well positioned due to its strategic location and historical and cultural ties to these regions. The document outlines Turkey's strong distance education program led by Anadolu University as an example and argues that regional collaboration could help address barriers to distance education in underdeveloped areas and lead to higher quality programs through knowledge sharing.
The document discusses how educational reform is needed to keep the American Dream alive in the modern global economy. It traces the history of education and its relationship to the economy from the industrial revolution to present day. In the past, many children left school early to work in factories, but computers and new technology have created a need for highly skilled STEM workers. The document argues that for the US to remain competitive, it needs to prioritize education in areas like science, math, and technology to stimulate interest in these fields and better prepare students for 21st century careers.

A Framework to Achieve Quality and Excellence in Higher Education: A Literatu...Dr. Amarjeet Singh
Educating large numbers of people to a high
standard and disseminating knowledge can be considered as
the main objectives of today’s higher education sector. An
effective framework for delivery mechanism by enhancing
the functional responsibility and its effective execution will
help the nation in achieving quality and excellence in higher
education. Present paper tries to explore framework for
achieving quality and excellence in higher education by
analysing the various functional aspect of higher educational
system in the country. After extensive literature survey and
analysing the research work of eminent researchers and
thinkers, it is concluded that higher education has become
larger and more central to society and individuals; hence,
there a need to develop framework including different
functional components for performance indicator and
measurement. It is suggested that various enhancement
function should be executed primarily in systems of high
trust, whereas the accountability function has to be
developed to prevent bad quality of institutions and
programs, and thus to protect the beneficiaries i.e. students
and society. Universities need to be consciously and
explicitly managing the processes associated with the
creation of their knowledge assets and to recognise the value
of their intellectual capital to their continuing role in society
and in a wider global marketplace for higher education.
Transformation Strategies for Higher EducationCognizant
Across the education ecosystem, the basic tenets of teaching and learning are being challenged by business and technology drivers -- compelling institutions in the higher education field to adopt a new playbook in order to remain relevant.
The document discusses how life has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. It notes that things may never return to normal. During the previous months, there was fear, changed thinking, and increased activity. Education was heavily impacted, with 1.6 billion learners affected as schools and universities closed. Online learning increased through various platforms. Work was also impacted, with unemployment rising and many transitioning to work from home. The document concludes that online learning will be the future of education.
ReimaginED 2015: Trends in K12 EducationDavid Havens
We’re living in a time of tremendous technological change. In the next five years, another billion people will gain access to the internet. By 2020, 80% of the adults on Earth will have a smartphone, double what it is today.
We started the Seed Fund to seek out those places where technological change might be leveraged to improve education, and there is much to improve about our current system. One of the most troubling trends of the last decade is the decrease in educational mobility. As a country, we are doing worse than most at educating our neediest kids which now account for just over half of public school children.
For our neediest children, the problems are cumulative. A series of school failures and missed opportunities add up to an education of accumulated disadvantage, a reverse Matthew Effect of sorts. Our team is focused on how technology can be used to reduce and even eliminate these obstacles so that our school system is an escalator to opportunity for all.
We’ve invested in over 40 teams scaling ideas to improve our education system by empowering students, educators and families with the best tools technology has to offer. Through this lens, we share our second ReImaginED deck. Inspired by KPCB’s Mary Meeker’s widely shared Internet Trends deck, we set out to expose data about our K-12 education system and highlight some of the innovations in education technology. The goal of this deck is to draw out high level trends so it doesn’t include the human stories on the other side of these numbers and charts, see here for some of those.
In ReimaginED 2015 (building off the original published over a year ago), we review the latest systemic challenges, landscape shifts, and emerging innovations that are helping to solve these problems.
Let us know about other innovation trends you are seeing in the comments below or by sharing this on twitter, #ReimaginED2015.

function should be executed primarily in systems of high
trust, whereas the accountability function has to be
developed to prevent bad quality of institutions and
programs, and thus to protect the beneficiaries i.e. students
and society. Universities need to be consciously and
explicitly managing the processes associated with the
creation of their knowledge assets and to recognise the value
of their intellectual capital to their continuing role in society
and in a wider global marketplace for higher education.

4. hrough the course of time, the evolution of education has been
Tsignificant. From chalkboards to projectors, from notebooks to
portable devices, and from classrooms to laptop screens, the
transcendence has been reformative. The inclusion of cutting-edge technology
has fueled the education sector’s development and efficiency in terms of
matching up to the current employability standards required by the diverse
commercial market. It won’t be long until the use of artificial intelligence and
robotics become a prominent inclusion in the educational sector. There are
now trends being created in the methods of imparting education, like that of
the use of audio-visual courseware, 3D animation, cloud learning, and many
such offerings under the umbrella term named online learning. There are
currently more than 4,700 colleges and universities that provide online
courses to their students.
An online school or college trains students completely or chiefly online
and/or through the internet. A concrete definition would be an education that
uses technology to provide training to students who are disconnected from
their teacher and to support consistent and functional communication between
the students. Online schools have now become a common notion almost
globally, right from K-12, graduate schools and universities. Evidently, online
learning facilitates students to appear for recognized exams, earn transferable
credits and/or take a step further towards higher education.
Online learning is most frequently exercised at the high school or college
grade. Students of the age 30 years or more incline towards studying through
online programs at developed rates. This age group represents 41% of the
online education populace, while 35.5% of students of ages 24-29 and 24.5%
of ages 15-23 partake in online education.
Online learning is becoming increasingly used worldwide. In the year 2015,
more than 6 million students had enrolled to at least one online course, this
number propagated by 3.9% from the preceding year. 29.7% of all higher
education students are enrolling to at least one distance course. The total
amount of students learning on campus completely dropped by 931,317
students between the years 2012 and 2015. According to experts, because the
number of students at the college level is increasing, there will also be an
upsurge in the quantity of students enrolled in distance learning.

Teamwork and working well with others was also important to being successful at ENMU, which is certainly a valuable skill

Words of Trust
“I am grateful that ENMU is considerate of students like myself who have family and work obligations and are not able to
attend the on-site classes. ENMU has been a life saver for me; just when I had lost all hope of ever completing college,
ENMU became the light at the end of the tunnel.” –Selene Chavez, Business Administration Major
Thanchira Suriyamongkol chose to study biology at ENMU after a campus visit in 2016. She liked the small campus, which
gave her the feeling of “home and family.” Intrigued by the diversity of animals in the High Plains, her master’s degree
focused on under-studied wildlife species. –Thanchira Suriyamongkol, Biology Graduate Student
T'Kayla Baker chose ENMU because of the small class sizes. “I wanted to go to a school where the teachers know you by
your first name because you have a better chance at succeeding, especially if you need extra help. That’s better than being in
a class three times as big where nobody knows your name, and you have to look outside of class for help.” –T’Kayla Baker,
Early Childhood Education Major, Track & Field Competitor
A Commitment to Student Success
ENMU’s history has been marked by many high points, steady enrollment growth and recognition, but none is more
important than the success of each student in achieving her or his personal academic, social and personal goals. Faculty, staff
and administration see this as their highest priority. In 1934, ENMU lit a lamp of learning. Today, the light from that lamp
burns brightly in its engaged students, successful alumni and dedicated staff. T R

33. Capitol Technology University’s mission is to educate individuals for proficient opportunities
inengineering, computer and information sciences, and business. It aims to prepare
individuals for professional careers and affords the opportunity to thrive in a dynamic world.
Education, lays down the foundations of a developed citizen and, thus, a developed nation. Learning
holds the key to numerous opportunities, when leveraged to its optimum. It is only when we learn
that we are driven towards progress, and the journey is both endless and enlightening. This
subsequently implies the vitality of an educational institution playing the role of a guiding light in
that journey. Thus, in our endeavor to discover and exhibit the 20 most valuable online colleges in
America, we came across an institution which redefines the benchmarks of comprehensive education.
This is Capitol Technology University, providing top-notch learning experiences that lead an
individual to success in the evolving global community.
The university was initially founded in Washington, DC, as the Capitol Radio Engineering Institute
in 1927 by Eugene H. Rietzke. A Navy veteran and radio operator, Rietzke foresaw the need for an
advanced school that could produce talented radio and electronics technicians. Over the subsequent
decades, Capitol Tech expanded into a college and then, in 2014, a full-fledged university. Today, it
offers more than 21 associate’s and bachelor’s degree programs, 10 master’s degree programs, and 6
doctoral programs.
Capitol Tech offers courses in both traditional and online formats. Most undergraduate programs are
on-campus, with third and fourth-year classes available online. Master’s programs are 100% online.
Doctoral programs range from low-residency to 100% online. Being a military-friendly institution,
Capitol Tech offers tuition discounts and other benefits to active duty personnel and veterans, as well
as asynchronous courses that can be taken by soldiers stationed anywhere in the world. The
university is part of the air force’s AU-ABC program, which provides a pathway to a bachelor’s
degree in Cybersecurity for airmen enrolled in the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF).
Capitol Technology University seeks to prepare graduates who demonstrate four characteristics, viz.

program, which was one of the first in
the nation. Launched in 2002, the
program has received unparalleled
designations from the Department of
Homeland Security and the National
Security Agency as a Center for
Academic Excellence (CAE) in
Cybersecurity education. In 2010, the
university launched the nation’s first
doctoral degree in Cybersecurity; the
doctoral program continues to attract
highly-qualified Cybersecurity
professionals seeking to advance their
careers or become recognized thought-
leaders.
The Astronautical Engineering

including the James Webb Space
Telescope. The university responds to
evolving industry needs through the
development of new programs, such as
its undergraduate and graduate degree
programs in critical infrastructure,
mechatronics engineering, and
unmanned and autonomous systems.
The efficiency and comprehensiveness
that these academic programs
carry are evidently visible in the
accolades the university has
received, and also through the
invaluable alumnus who avidly
contribute to the betterment of
the society. Capitol Tech is one
of a select group of colleges and
universities that are designated
by the Department of Homeland
Security and the National
Security Agency as Centers of
Academic Excellence (CAE) in
Cybersecurity education.
Capitol Tech graduates such as
Scarlin Hernandez go on to have
successful careers in some of
today’s most exciting fields.
Scarlin is a spacecraft engineer
for NASA’s signature space
mission, the James Webb Space
Telescope. As a distinguished
woman engineer from a minority
background in a field that has often
struggled to achieve diversity, Scarlin
is making history. Recently, the online
magazine Remezcla named her among
10 Latinas making their mark on
STEM. In 2017, the Society for
Women Engineers (SWE) highlighted
her work in a special feature marking
Hispanic Heritage Month, and also in
the previous year, NASA featured her
in a video presentation.
Opening the Doors to Prominence
Capitol Tech’s graduates pave their
way towards successful careers across
a myriad of technology and business
fields. Many work for federal agencies,
including the NSA, NASA, NOAA,
and the DoD, while others are
employed by federal contractors or by
companies in the private sector. The
hiring rate for Capitol Tech graduates
is high, wherein 85% of graduates land
jobs within their fields in less than six
months after graduation.
Under an agreement known as The
Capitol Technology University
Commitment, the university pledges
that graduates will find employment in
their fields at a competitive salary,

has consistently attracted a diverse
student body. It encourages students to
celebrate diversity through on-campus
clubs and activities, as well as through
special events, including presentations
by distinguished scientists and
engineers from minority backgrounds.
The university also works to foster
gender diversity on campus, both
through recruitment efforts and by
supporting programs designed to
encourage more women to enter STEM
fields.
A Personification of Distinction
Dr. Bradford L Sims, Capitol
Technology University’s President,
has been involved with technology
from an early age. As a child, he
received a Commodore 64 for his
birthday and taught himself basic
programming so he could do more with
his new computer. As a college student,
he attended Purdue University and
graduated and obtained a Bachelor’s of
Science in Building Construction
Management. He worked coast to coast
in the United States and briefly in
Europe in the project management area
of industrial construction; pertaining to
his technology background, he was
also involved with computer systems at
each company.
Following his flourishing private sector
career, Dr. Sims returned to higher
education. He obtained an MS in
building construction from the
University of Florida and a Ph.D. in
curriculum and instruction from
Purdue University, subsequently
becoming an assistant professor at the
University of Florida. As he moved to
different universities, he advanced in
administrative positions, becoming a
department head, dean, chief academic
officer, and president.
At Capitol Technology University, he
is spearheading the nation’s first
degree programs in critical
infrastructure, designed to equip a new
generation of students with the skills
and knowledge they need, to help
protect the most essential facilities and
services from attack. He has also
overseen the launch of new programs
in mechatronics engineering,
unmanned and autonomous systems,
aviation, and other fields.
“I value being able to be around and
develop programs that I feel will
provide good careers for students,
whether they’re undergraduates or
adult learners, including active and
retired military. I want somebody to
take an educational program, whether
it’s for credit or not credit, and be able
to utilize that to build a good career,
one that enables them to take care of
themselves and their families,” Dr.
Sims has said.
Rewarding the Worthy
At Capitol Tech, a full array of
institutional, corporate, foundation and
endowed scholarships are available to
students. High school and transfer
applicants for undergraduate
acceptance are automatically reviewed
for merit-based scholarships. The
Capitol Scholars Program offers
students the opportunity for a tuition-
free education at Capitol Tech. Each
year, at least five outstanding incoming
freshmen are designated a full four-
year scholarship under the program.
As a DHS and NSA-recognized Center
for Academic Excellence, Capitol Tech
is also among a select group of schools
offering the Information Assurance
Scholarship Program (IASP). Students
chosen for this prestigious opportunity
receive full scholarship packages
including undergraduate or graduation
tuition as well as a stipend for room
and board. In exchange, for each year
that they receive the scholarship,
recipients agree to provide one year of

37. The contemporary digital era has witnessed an
emergence of revolutionary concepts and ideas
which have spread like a wildfire across a myriad
of macro as well as micro level consumer disciplines. Since
the advent of the internet, an exponential amount of such
concepts have been conceived, either out of a necessity to
simplify a certain process or out of the need for disruption.
But, it is evident that these digitalized concepts or simply a
set of task-driven algorithms, have been efficiently
transforming their associated disciplines and on a larger
scale, the lives of people across the globe.
Similarly, the discipline of education has also been
witnessing a reformation since the inception of the internet.
Seamless opportunities and fathomless possibilities have
been derived through an appropriate application of
digitalization and its advancements. The one major
development which insinuated its presence into the list of
digital advancements is online learning. It creates a virtual
setting wherein the use of varied techniques inclusive of

What’s in the store?
Online learning is undoubtedly an essential tool in this fast-
paced, cutthroat competitive and a conventional skills
demanding age. It allows students around the world to avail
online programs and other relevant options through an
online portal or platform. However, online learning is still
vulnerable to stereotypes and relevant criticism. It is often
perceived that students who opt for online courses aren’t
eligible enough for traditional college or university. These
perceptions discourage students on a vast scale, from opting
for online courses, thus getting jammed in the traditional
system that exhausts a considerable chunk of their money
and years off of their lives.
Following are a few pointers, emphasizing upon the
benefits one can relish through online learning:
1. A freedom of choice:
Although traditional education can
Provide you the scope for picking
The program of your dreams, it
Would cost travelling to a different
City and the struggles adjacent to it.
However, through online learning,
One can afford any and every
Educational program available in
Traditional universities, from the
Comfort of their homes.
2. Complying with everyone’s needs:
Online learning is an apparent example of how content
can be accessed, utilized, shared and debated upon,
exhibiting the trait of suiting to the need of every
individual. Be it a working professional or a stay-at-
home parent, depending on their availability and
comfort, learners can schedule the lessons of their opted
program.
3. Learning at your own speed:
Online learning programs allow
students to complete tasks at their
own time, and they can schedule a
particular class that meets their
individual needs. Enrolling in a
traditional college program may
require you to disregard important
things in your life. Learning at
your own comfort and rhythm
allows more space for progress.

38. The requirement of attending webinars or other live sessions become negligible pertaining to the access of
learning materials being at your disposal.
4. Reduced Environmental impacts:
Another minor yet non-negligible aspect of online learning is that it propagates the protection of the
environment through being paperless. With regards to a survey conducted on eLearning courses, it was
analyzed that online learning programs (distance learning) recorded 90% reduced power consumption and
amounted to the generation of 85% less CO emissions, all this, in comparison to the traditional classroom2
based learning.
5. Saving your pockets:
In contrast to the traditional form of learning, online programs are cost effective. The convenience this mode
of learning delivers, aids to the reduced costs in travel, learning materials, training and lodging. An abundant
amount of online learning programs are completely free of cost, however, not promising a certificate of
completion. But these are still more nourishing for those seeking knowledge from prominent instructors.
6. Boosting your career:
The presence of an online program on your resume only adds a positive reflection of your willingness to learn
more and that of self-development. Potential employers would apparently comprehend your sense of
commitment towards obtaining more knowledge. It is merely a common misconception that employers are
biased towards candidates who’ve acquired traditional college degrees. However, having an online degree
from a prominent university will certainly spearhead your career.
In its entirety, online learning exhibits a much lucid picture of what can possibly be considered as the future of
learning. Although it contains the potential to radically change the face of traditional education, online learning
can only thrive by being parallel or in concord with the old school, classroom learning. However, it remains
undisputed when the question of accessibility of updated content, convenient course planning, and career
enhancement arises. T R

41. oncordia University Wisconsin is a Lutheran higher education community
Ccommitted to helping students develop in mind, body, and spirit for service to
Christ in the Church and the world”
Well known for its wonderful location, Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) has
extremely breathtaking views of Lake Michigan, with its 200-acre residential campus
situated along a half-mile of Lake Michigan shoreline in suburban Mequon. Today’s
academic landscape is rapidly changing and Concordia’s administration has embarked
on a mission that prepares its students to stand apart from the crowd and live an
Uncommon Life. CUW has a 137-year history of helping students develop in mind, body,
and spirit.
The institute was founded in Milwaukee in 1881 and is affiliated with The Lutheran
Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS), and is a member of the Concordia University System.
Concordia began offering four-year undergraduate degrees in the late 1970s. The Board
of Regents approved a move to university status in 1989, and CUW became the first
university among the 10-member Concordia University System. “Concordia University
Wisconsin is about so much more than just earning a degree. It’s about being part of a
bigger community that shares uncommon purpose and values,” asserts Dr. Patrick T.
Ferry, President of Concordia University Wisconsin.
A campus expansion and major library renovation was set to take place in 1982, before
the campus was moved to Mequon prior to the start of the 1983 academic year. Today, it
has a big campus which is surrounded by several attractive places and its location is one
of the factors that attract students from all over the place to enroll and attend CUW. It
has a modern campus with all required facilities and state-of-the-art infrastructure. Apart
from these, it also has a perfect learning environment for students to explore new ideas,
encourages creativity, and independent thinking. Moreover, the entire university is
interconnected by an underground tunnel system. The university has four core values
that guide the university's mission each day: Christ-Centered, Truth Integrity,
Excellence, and Service.
A Christian University
‘CUW is a Christian university, not because we’re perfect people, but because we’re
forgiven sinners who gather together in Christ’. CUW is a Christian university that
instills in its students that ‘living a full Christian life is about more than worship.’
Several opportunities are provided for students to display their faith and make a
difference in the lives of others. The institute provides ‘Excellence in Christian
Education’ and two years back introduced a 'Live Uncommon’ theme where students are
asked to stand apart from the crowd and develop a mission and servanthood mentality.
Chapel is held from 9:30 am to 9:45 am daily during the academic year, as students,
faculty and staff come together. In summary, at Concordia there is a Christian emphasis
from how professors teach in the classroom to how athletes play on the field. “We
deliver a distinctive, Christian higher education experience, where faith and knowledge
intertwine,” asserts Dr. Patrick T. Ferry.
Supporting Diversity and Encouraging Inclusion
CUW embraces diversity and strives to encourage as well as display ethnic diversity.
Every year more than 500 international students attend this institute, making CUW a
truly international university. Moreover, such international students have grown
exponentially over the years. Geographic diversity is high at Concordia University
Wisconsin, which has a female to male ratio of approximately 3:2. Since classrooms are
at the heart of student learning, and faculty members are the key to promote inclusion on
campus. The faculty members play important roles in supporting the diversity in the
class and teaching in more inclusive ways.

42. An Able and Thought-out Leader
The Rev. Dr. Patrick T. Ferry was elected as eighth President of Concordia University
Wisconsin in 1997. He began his career at CUW as an Assistant Professor in 1991. He earned his
Ph.D. as well as M.A. in history and M.Div. from the University of Colorado.
Dr. Ferry asserts, “It is my great privilege to work each day alongside winsome people who
champion the needs and concerns of others.” He continues, “Concordians are freed to
pursue the uncommon path of dedicating their lives to make someone else’s life better.”
Under his able leadership, the university has witnessed growth and initiated
several innovative systems. In the past decade, he has overseen some important
changes that include the construction of a new Business School, School of Pharmacy,
and a residence hall that affords students breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. Dr.
Ferry believes the measure that matters most is whether the Concordia education has
ultimately driven students to live, breathe and demonstrate the university's excellence and
that they are making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Divers and Specialized Curricula
The university provides innovative syllabuses, multi-disciplinary programs, projects, and student centered pedagogy. The
syllabus is specially designed to provide practical learning and hone the professional skills. Concordia University Wisconsin
offers over 70 undergraduate majors and 40 graduate programs in six academic schools: Batterman School of Business,
Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, Arts and Sciences, and Health Professions. The university offers more than a degree, as
students make real connections in and out of class – relationships that can last a lifetime. CUW offers cutting-edge and
extraordinary academic programs which provide lucrative employment opportunities.

43. Financial Aids and Scholarships
CUW provides deserving students with a number of
scholarships, aimed to help them in their search for
excellence. They not only foster and nurture academic
brilliance, providing aspiring achievers with the
wherewithal, but also encourage achievers by
acknowledging and honoring their achievements. While
many colleges and universities across the United States
boast that nearly 100% of their undergraduates receive financial aid assistance, scholarships are granted to more than a third of
Concordia students. The average amount of total financial aid a student is awarded is approximately $24,000.00.
Major Accomplishments
Major achievements over the last three years include finalizing a state-of-the-art, 48,000 square foot School of Business that
will be completed this June. While it will house the School of Business, it will invite collaboration among all the disciplines
(health care, education, and science) with the purpose of infusing Christian business ethics and free enterprise principles to
prepare graduates for the workforce. Health care remains a prime area of focus, as half of CUW’s six schools are in health
care disciplines. The venue is meant to be a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship and transformational learning experiences
that will both support and empower the next generation of leaders. A new Doctorate of Education of Leadership in Innovation
and Continuous Improvement was added to the curriculum last summer, and Concordia’s 32,000 alumni are invited to be a
part of alumni association events, with a number of local and out-state chapter events held annually.
Career Development Activities
The university has a career service office that is dedicated to helping the students and alumni to fulfill their desired career
goals. It is committed to attend to the individual needs of students and ensure to achieve desired platforms for launching
students’ professional careers. It offers ample employment opportunities, internship, engagement with employers and
connection to resources. Moreover, it offers a variety of programs, services, assessments, and more to help build the career
confidence and skill development. Placement rates following graduation are consistently well above the national average in a
number of disciplines, including Nursing and Physician Assistant. T R
