The cover of this magazine appears to be very mellow and sombre due to the dullest tones
and colours of the cover.
This cover is mage up o an extreme close up, of an artist. The costume of this artist
matches the background of the cover. This creamy white helps to make the black of sell
lines stand out, the cream also compliments the red of the title.
The typography on this cover looks very orderly as it is all the same except the title which
is in a bold and slick font which has the connotations of being laid back to show what sort
of a magazine this is.
All of the sell lines on this cover are in bold so that they stand out more, rolling stone
magazine do this on most of their covers and is a key convention of their magazine.

This cover is good as it shows lots of the main contents of the magazine
which the previous magazine did not have. I like on this the different
sections of the magazine, as it gives the reader a good indication of what
sort of content there is in the magazine. The page colour matches the
cover of the magazine which is quite a dull white and looks vintage.
Also this sort of dull colour seems to be a trend which lots of indie
magazines follow.
The position of the model in this image looks very vain and serious
which is what the models in indie magazines act as.
The formatting of this magazine also looks very straight and orderly
which looks appealing as it is not as manic as some indie rock magazines.

This double page spread follows a lot of the codes and
conventions of indie rock. The image is made up of very
earthy colours in the setting as are the bands costumes.
The costumes used in this image look simple but cool, this
appears to be quite subdued which is quite powerful as it
makes the reader reflect on the band and themselves. They
have done this by using low key lighting and by having the
band positioned to be staring deeply into the camera.
For this image they have used a medium close up so that
you can see the indie looking costumes whilst being able to
identify the stern facial expressions.
The background of this image really draws the readers
attention to the article due to the contract of the earthy
colours of the image and the white of the article.
