Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated President John F. Kennedy in Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963. Oswald fired three shots from the sixth floor window of the Texas School Book Depository, fatally wounding JFK. He then fled the building and fatally shot Dallas police officer J.D. Tippitt before being arrested at a movie theater. However, there is still debate as to whether Oswald acted alone or was part of a larger conspiracy, with some pointing to Cuban or Soviet involvement or a plot by organized crime figures.
