John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas by Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald fired three shots from the sixth floor window of the Texas School Book Depository, fatally shooting Kennedy while he was riding in a motorcade with his wife. Oswald was later shot and killed by Jack Ruby in the Dallas County Jail before he could stand trial. Forensic evidence and witness testimony supported the conclusion that Oswald acted alone in assassinating Kennedy.
