The Story of Two Touches | A Sermon on Mark 5:21-43Steve Thomason
Jesus heals two women. One enjoyed the center of community life, the other lived on the margins. See how each had to take a different path to find Jesus' healing touch.

Without faith it is impossible to please God. When we trust in God and ask him for help, He is willing to cooperate with us. This assurance provides healing for the soul.
Mini Bio (temperance lancecouncil)
Calling herself a poli-acto (short for politician-actress), like Fred Thompson, Al Franken, Nancy Kulp or Sheila Kuehl, Temperance Lance-Council does have a few role models in which to emulate in her entertainment and political endeavors.
As founder of The Anti-Hypocrisy Party of America, some may have seen her in The New York Times or POLITICO; but she's been a SAG actress for over twenty years.
Her personal and entertainment life is as storied as any Hollywood type backed up with appearances in The National Enquirer, various now-defunct game shows, on FOX News and CNN. She even ran a Los Angeles Marathon in a loin cloth to protest apartheid in South Africa ... and, she's even fronted her own R & B band.
She credits former Good Day LA and The Ricki Lake Show producer Lisa Kridos, for her first (and second) television appearance in a major market-Los Angeles - when Kridos booked her twice on AM Los Angeles.
Later, she was approached to appear on The Hot Seat, an over-the-top, TV staple in Southern California back then, where she bantered with the show's host, Wally George, a combative conservative, "who pioneered insult television," per the Los Angeles Times (Jean O. Pasco, Times Staff Writer). Maybe that was her foray into the lively repartee she found herself engaged in with The New York Post's Andrea Peyser, in a Boston TV studio earlier in her career.
SAG has her listed as Lancecouncil, but other media outlets have her as the hyphenated, Lance-Council.

Self-Restraint Vs Self-Indulgence (MK Gandhi)Pardeep Sehgal
"The future is for the nations who are chaste". The licentious conduct of our young people, prostitution, pornography, and marriages for money, vanity or luxury, adultery and divorce, voluntary sterility and abortion, have debilitated the nation and stopped its increase; the individual has been unable to conserve his energies, and the quality of the new growth has diminished simultaneously with its quantity. "Moral indiscipline at once dries up the fountains of the race, and hastens the wear and tear of the adults whom it debilitates both morally and physically."
Anorexia and bulimia are not organic diseases. They are learned behaviors which can be unlearned by the grace of God. Learning what it means to repent and "be transformed by the renewing of your mind" is the key to overcoming this spiritual and physical bondage.
This is a collection of writings about what the Holy Spirit desires and dreams to accomplish in our lives. His goal is to lead us to desire all that God desires for us.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2. Temperance
• Moderates the desire for pleasure
• includes all virtues, especially humility, that
restrain the ordinate movements of our desires
or appetite
3. Temperance
Classes:
• Abstinence
• Chastity
• Modesty
• Humility
• Prudence
• Self-regulation
• Forgiveness and mercy
Note:
Each of these involves restraining
some impulse, such as:
• Sexual Desire
• Vanity
• Anger

• Temperaunce (self-restraint, Moderation)– from Anglo-
French. Mid 14C
• Temperantia (moderation) – from Latin. Mid 13C. from
temperans, present participle of temperare "to moderate“
• Latin temperantia was used by Cicero to translate
Greek sophrosyne "moderation."
• In English, temperance was used to render Latin
continentia or abstinentia, specifically in
reference to drinking alcohol and eating; hence by early 1800s it had
come to mean "abstinence from alcoholic drink."

“it makes no difference whatever to virtue what or how much food a man
as long as he does it with due regard for the people among whom he
lives, for his own person, and for the requirements of his health; but it
matters how uncomplainingly he does without food when bound by duty or
necessity to abstain.”
-Augustine Thomas

• it is connected with the reproductive faculty; and
in regard of these there is, concerned with the
primary pleasure of the act of reproduction.
9. Part 3 : Modesty

attendant
circumstances of
pleasure in kisses,
touches and
embraces.

• Principally this vice versa regards not the quantity, but the desire for
food and drink, a desire that is outside the order of reason.
“The glutton does not eat in order that he may
live rather he has recognized his life in such a way
that he now lives primarily to eat. In ordinate desire
for food and drink gives rise to a most of offspring.”
11. Continence
• the practice of continence is very
important for the emotional
development of the human person.
• It is the part of temperance
whereby a person resists evil

13. Bible Quotes
Romans 12: 1-2
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the
mercies of God, to present your bodies as
a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to
God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not

transformed by the renewal of your mind,
that by testing you may discern what is the
will of God, what is good and acceptable
and perfect.”

and make no provision for the
flesh, to gratify its desires.”

worldly passions, and to live self-
controlled, upright, and godly lives in the
present age,”
1 Peter 5:8

adversary the devil prowls around like a
roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
1 Corinthians 3:16-17

temple and that God's Spirit dwells in
you? If anyone destroys God's temple,
