This document discusses issues facing the telecom industry in India compared to other countries. It notes that India has more mobile operators competing for less spectrum than other nations, and the highest government fees and taxes on the industry at 30% compared to 3.5-6.5% elsewhere. Despite this, mobile services in India remain very inexpensive at 3.5% of per capita income compared to 5% in developed countries. The document calls for the government to facilitate cell tower infrastructure and educate the public about unfounded health concerns regarding radiation to help the industry and expand digital services.

PeopleBAWX is a revolutionary project designed to bring TV and awareness programmes to the masses in India.
Through our research, we realized that TV today was the most common media in India. As a viable media platform, TV can be used to reach out to the millions of people in India currently, who may have no awareness about social issues and deadly diseases such as HIV.
We believe that if information can be extended as a privilege to these people, their lives will change drastically. In so doing, we seek a prevention to the problems in society, and try to solve real problems such as rampant HIV transmission at its root - i.e. when people know about the disease, they will be better able to protect themselves.

Mobile phones and cancers: What is the evidence? - Prof Mike RepacholiThe Radiation Doctor
This is the ultimate research study which will demystify all the myths related to cellphones & cell-tower radiation! This piece presented by Prof Mike Repacholi, Former Co-ordinator, Radiation and Environmental Health
World Health Organization, Geneva, Switzerland. He has presented all the relevant facts about relation of cancer & other health hazards with radiation.
Cellphones, one of the most handy gadgets in the world, are under scrutiny due to the claims of them being carcinogenic, but are these true? What are the studies supporting them? What are the procedures that these studies go through? This infographic tries to shed light on this escalated topic. Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
We discuss the purported link between cell phone
radiation and cancer. We show that it is inconsistent with the photoelectric effect, and that epidemiological studies of any link have no scientific basis. Read this doc to know more.
Do you believe that 'Cellphones Cause Brain Cancer?' If yes, then its time to demystify your myth. Check out the article featured in NYTimes.com by Siddhartha Mukherjee (Assistant Professor of medicine in the
division of medical oncology at Columbia University).

•
Malaysia has made significant progress in basic connectivity, but there is an opportunity to expand access to and use of higher quality broadband.
•
Ubiquitous, high quality, affordable broadband will increasingly be a critical foundation of the digital economy. Better connected economies will do better.
•
Malaysia’s ambitions for the digital economy will only be realized, and its investments (DFTZ, Industry 4.0 etc.) pay off, if fixed broadband services become more affordable and their quality is improved.
•
Malaysia can consider a new strategy, with more ambitious targets, to promote competitive markets, accelerate infrastructure deployments, and attract private capitalto increase broadband network roll out and use.
Bad habits like smoking, drinking and erratic diets are the primary causes of cancer. Cell phones emit low frequency magnetic energy and are not responsible to cause cancer.

11. Everywhere else in the World
•Responsible bodies ( Health, Government, Professional) have opined that there is no conclusive evidence on Mobiles’ radiation as harmful to humans. Limits are prescribed; Adherence to standards are monitored
•Our governments should over radio and TV educate citizens on the exaggerated and unfounded fears of radiation hazard.

12. What Government should do
•Governments should facilitate rapid construction of cell tower infrastructure
•Without power transmission towers and poles, there can be no electricity service to consumers. They are not taxed
•No cell towers, no mobile services. Why should antenna mounting cell towers be taxed and revenue stripped
•No 3G/4G infrastructure, no extensive e-governance, no e-learning, no e-societies… THC_CTMS S717_July 2014 12
