Technology serves as a visual
aid and can be used as a
teaching tool to enhance a
lesson plan or objective.
4. 21st Century Classroom
The 21st Century classroom is considered a
smart classroom. A smart classroom is a
classroom that has an instructor station
equipped with computer and audiovisual
equipment, allowing the instructor to teach
using a wide variety of media.
The 21st Century classroom integrates
technology that students interact with everyday
such as Twitter, Facebook, Podcasting, iPod,
iPad, cell phone, and many more.
5. • Technology is important resources to
integrate curriculum.

society.
• Technology solves diversity in the
classroom.

• Technology frees the student in the learning
process.
• Technology helps teachers assess students
on what they have learned.
6. Advantages of
Technology in
the Classroom

• Increases flexibility of
presenting material
• Improves lectures
• Backs up key concepts being
taught
• Provides visuals of
information presented
• Equips students to handle the
technical advances in their
society
• Teachers become more
efficient with instructional
time
• Student become more
motivated
8. Advantages “A-Ha” Moments
• Technology helps in the learning process.
• Teachers should use many technological
techniques when introducing subject matter.
• Technology makes learning fun.
• Technology motivates the student to learn.
• Technology brings life into subject matter
that some seem boring.
• Technology enhances student's reception to
material they think is hard.
9. Disadvantages of
Technology in the
Classrooms
• Expensive
• Students loose hands on
experience
• Students do not gain social
skills
• Literacy skills are not gained
• Emotional skills are not fully
developed
• Critical Thinking skills are not
acquired
• Cognitive skills are not fully
gained
• Safety of the students can
not all ways be monitored
10. Disadvantages of Technology
Lack of social
skills
Literacy is not achieved
Lack of attention
Lack of problem
solving skills
Cognitive skills are not
formed
11. Disadvantage “A-Ha” Moments
• Technology is not all ways a good way to
promote learning.
• Technology has it set backs.
• Technology is expensive and is not
manageable in urban communities.
• Technology is not measureable in
assessing students success
• Literacy should be master before
technology should be integrated in
classroom instruction.
• Technology may not all ways be monitored
for safe engagement.
12. Conclusion
Technology has its pros and its cons like any
other instructional tool. Literacy should be
promoted and gained before students are
released to interact with the technology in the
classroom. If students are set free to learn
with technology, the teacher must make sure
that students are utilizing technology in the
proper way. I think technology assist
teachers to create fun and interactive lesson
plans. I think that students could benefit
more from technology than not using it at all.
SMART boards help teachers in their
instruction time. Teachers are managing their
instructional time with technology in the
classroom. Technology has more pros than
cons.
