This document outlines topics and subtopics to be covered in an environmental studies course for teacher training colleges in 2012-2013. The topics include environmental health and sanitation, ecosystems and biodiversity, people and the environment, urbanization and migration, education for sustainable development, information and communication technology, energy, and water. Under each topic, subtopics are defined that will be taught, such as defining different types of ecosystems, threats to ecosystems and sustainable solutions, population growth and its effects, the definitions and principles of sustainable development, and methods for obtaining clean water.
