This document provides an overview of updates to the EMT-B curriculum presented by Patrick Batenhorst in the summer of 2013. Key updates include: (1) the addition of auto-injectors for self-defense from chemical/biological/radiological/nuclear attacks; (2) teaching Sellick's maneuver to reduce gastric inflation; (3) expectations around using automatic transport ventilators and manually triggered ventilators; and (4) adding pulse oximetry, aspirin for chest pain, nebulizers, and eye irrigation as new BLS skills. The presentation concludes by taking any remaining questions.
