5. Target Audience…
NME magazines have a target audience with the age range of 15-25 years, in which only
27% are female and 73% male. This shows that a vast amount of males are more
interested in the music industry compared to females.
It is most likely that the readers of NME magazine have attended at least one, or more,
pop/rock music concerts as roughly 80% of NME readers feel that music plays an
Important part within their lives as it introduces them to new bands, artists and widens
their taste in music.
The social classes of the target audiences vary from higher, middle and working class.
As well as this, 26% are full time college students, 34% are working full time and 18% are
working part time, whom have been reading NME magazines for the last, or over, 3
years.
