2. Hazard equipment/ risk assessment
Loose wires
When producing this documentary we must make sure that we are aware of the safety hazards. For
example we must be careful not to be tripping up any loose wires or equipment that could possibly
damage or harm the cameras as we would have to pay for them if they broke or got damaged.
Wet and slippery surfaces
Another safety hazard could be the wet and slippery surfaces from spilt water or even the rain as the
summer holidays are over now and it’s September and beginning to rain again, and because of the
amount of students in Leyton Six Form walking up and down the corridors in their wet shoes it can
cause the floor to become wet and slippery so we must be careful not to slip over or fall especially if
we are holding expensive camera equipment. So we must stay aware and keep a keen eye out to
look out to see if we can spot any warning signs/cones saying to be careful of slippery surfaces as the
college usually puts them up when this is the case.
Dropping any important equipment and bumping into students
When recording our documentary we must also be careful not to drop any of the camera equipment
and make sure not to put any of the equipment in any sort of danger that could potentially damage
it in some way. In addition to this Leyton Six Form is a very busy college and the street is especially
busy in break times so we should watch out for rushing students so we don’t bump into them when
holding the cameras as this could cause us to drop it or damage it.
3. The script
Onder introduces, “so today we are going to make a
documentary……”
Thaddeus starts off by reading off facts e.g. “At least 1 in 25
people sentenced to the death penalty in the U.S. are innocent”.
After reading off the facts, Thaddeus starts asking questions such as
“How do you feel about the death penalty?”
When Thaddeus received the answers, we went on to another
person to ask the questions.
Throughout the whole of the interviews Onder will be filming the
action/interviews.
The cameraman will also be taking different shots e.g. close-ups,
medium shots, long shots.
4. The Questions
The questions:
Did any of these facts change your mind about the death penalty?
How do you feel about the death penalty?
Would you allow the death penalty in the UK?
How do you think people should be punished?
Why do you think the death penalty is used a lot in areas such as
South America?
Why do you think the death penalty was introduced?
5. Facts
At least 1 in 25 people sentenced to the death penalty in the U.S.
are innocent.
Death penalty trials are 20 times more expensive than trials seeking
a sentence of life in prison without parole.
The Death Penalty is legal in 32 U.S. states.
Iran sentences its citizens to the death penalty if they decide
to change their religion from Islam.
Nike’s slogan “just do it” was inspired by the last words of man about
to be executed.

7. The recce
There are various of different areas where we are going to film.
We made sure that the place where we are going to film is quiet
and a friendly environment. For comfortability we can put a
couple of chairs into the corner to make it safe and organised.
The place we chose is right next to the photography studio
which makes the interview more realistic.
