Constraints
Every project gives you opportunities to create but also constraints to work to. Use this hand
out to consider the constraints which will affect your project.
Constraints
What timescale have you got for this project? How could this impact your work?
We get 6 week for this production, If I am able to keep up with the speed and do future
research into my product designs it will be able to help me be more prepared whilst in
production which may mean that I wont have to waste time during production trying to think
of a design and instead use the extra time to do any kind of alterations that may be
required.
Are there any resources you will need for this project that you will not be provided with?
How could this affect your project? What can you do about this?
There isn't any particular resource that I require for the production for this project but if I
were to need something that I needed and I wasn't able to get for the production of my
project it may effect my initial ideas and I may not be able to get the end result that I was
accepting to get. Another issue it may cause is that It may slow down my production speed
as it may take time to find an alternative way to create the end result that I wanted.
What constraints are in place regarding your approach to marketing? Do you think this will
help of hinder your project and why?
The constraints that I have to be aware of whilst creating my product are the CAP rules.
The rules that I would have to take into consideration whilst creating this product would
have to be misleading advertising such as if I were to say that the product is made out of
complete organic produce which would also tie into another CAP rule food, food
supplements and associated health of nutrition claims.
What restraints could be imposed by an organisation such as the Advertising Standards
Authority (ASA)? How could this impact your project?
The ASA would make my production process harder as I would have to take into
consideration all the rules that my product must apply to and make sure that the end result
fits in to all the criteria and is legally acceptable to be served to the public without any one
getting offended or without my products misleading any of the customers in any kind of
way.
