The prevalence of underweight, overweight and obesity in children and adolescents from Ukraine
The main objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of obesity, overweight and underweight in Ukrainian children. The study took the format of a cross-sectional design where a representative sample of 13,739 was taken for the children. Measures taken from the children included body weight and height and the Body Mass Index (BMI) obtained from these. Results were interpreted based on standards of the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) International Obesity Taskforce (IOTF) and the World Health Organization (WHO).Results indicated that 12.1% of children are underweight, 17.6% overweight and 12.6% obese among children aged 12 to 18 years. More of the young populations are obese than the old in the country. The prevalence of overweight and obesity among Ukrainian children is higher than the average for Europe that stands at 30%. However, compared to the US, 18.5% obesity in children, Ukraine children are less obese. Included in the article are measures that would help reduce the prevalence of overweight at a national level (Dereń et al., 2018).
This article is relatively relevant to an average reader in the US. While it does not indicate the impact of the high rate of overweight and obesity, it shows that the US leads the world in cases of obesity and overweight. It has the capacity to influence group decision making more than individual based decisions. The article left out the most relevant information such as factors that have contributed to the high rate of overweight and obesity among children in Ukraine. Another important information that would have been included in the article are measures to control the overweight epidemic at an individual level (Dietz et al., 2015). Another important information would be methods to determine one’s weight status to determine if they are safe or not.

A multidisciplinary reflexion on health issues of the 21st century could lead to innovative solutions. One of the challenges to overcome in the coming decades is how to support the increasing number of chronic patients in a pressured healthcare ecology. Patients in chronic disease management are expected to increasingly use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for self-care during their treatment process and for co-decision with health care providers. The application of these types of information and communication technology is looked upon as one of the ways to get both patients and healthcare providers more involved in their treatment and to increase the health related quality of care, according to the WHO. Connecting patients and health care professionals would not only improve the technical system of communicating but also triggers social innovations of care models in which new ways of interacting and deciding improves the diagnostics and treatment. So far, a general overview of the extent and nature of published research involving this subset of ICT-interventions is lacking. Based on a scoping review conducted by Wildevuur e.o cancer was chosen as a case study to research how ICT could support cancer-patients in a person-centred approach to care.

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) supported a Children's Health Exposure Analysis Repository(CHEAR) program that needed to integrate data across exposure science and health. We led the data science effort of this program and design the CHEAR ontology to support data integration and to leverage a wide range of existing ontologies and vocabularies. We are refactoring the ontology to support human health (instead of just aiming to support child health, and broadening support a broad range of environmental health sciences applications.

Survey
Background: Nurses’ caring behaviors are central in the quality of care of
patients undergoing sophisticated chemotherapy protocols. However, there is a
scarcity of research regarding these behaviors in nonYAnglo-Saxon countries.
Objective: The aim of this study was to explore caring behaviors that nurses
perceive as important in caring for patients in Greece receiving chemotherapy.
Methods: We used a mixed-methods design, including a survey in 7 oncology
wards in 3 cancer hospitals in Attica, Greece, and a subsequent qualitative focus
group investigation. Caring behaviors were explored through the Caring Behavior
Inventory 24 and content analysis of 3 focus group interviews. Results: A sample of
72 nurses (response rate, 68.5%) were surveyed, and 18 nurses participated in the
focus groups. ‘‘Knowledge/skills’’ (5 [SD, 0.7]) was the most important caring
behaviors. No significant associations with nurses’ characteristics were noted, except
for higher scores in caring behaviors in participants who were married (PG.02). Six
caring-related categories emerged from the qualitative analysis: ‘‘the concept of
care,’’ ‘‘respect,’’ ‘‘nurse-patients’ connection,’’ ‘‘empathy,’’ ‘‘fear of cancer,’’ and
‘‘nurses’ professional role.’’ Moreover, they stressed barriers they faced in each
category. Conclusions: Integrated quantitative and qualitative data concur that
operational tasks are central in Greek nurses’ caring behaviors. In addition,
qualitative findings highlighted those skills equipping nurses to provide holistic

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
