Autotrophic and heterotrophic nutrition are the two types of nutrition. Autotrophic nutrition is the process by which autotrophs like plants produce their own food by taking in carbon dioxide and water and converting them into carbohydrates through photosynthesis using chlorophyll in the presence of sunlight. Heterotrophic nutrition involves organisms like animals depending on other organisms for food. Autotrophs include plants while heterotrophs include parasites, saprophytes, and humans.
