Services to Product
We are working on a “GitHub” like tool to publish or
consume open-data, run simple analytics on them, build
visualisations and then piece together infographics.
57. We face a lot of challenges!
•
Branding: We are a design company in Mumbai selling
internationally. It is like selling exquisite wine from Bihar to a
Parisian.
•
Hiring: We operate in a multi-disciplinary field that intersects
design, algorithms, statistics, web mining and data modelling.
•
Bootstrapped: We eat what we hunt. Hence, we cannot pay
high up-front salaries.
•
India Market: Sales to corporates in India has been long and
unrewarding.
58. The one thing that mitigated a lot of these problems was
adopting a strong, consistent, well-defined culture.
59. •
We hire for aptitude and attitude. Not skills. It took 72 interviews
across 9 months before we hired our first employee.Three of our
developers are drop-outs and ex-entrepreneurs. Our lead
developer is a 21 year old fashion designer.
•
We spend 50%+ of our time doing R&D.
•
Every new employee who joins first intern.
•
We will do everything possible to help our developers “lean out”
their life. => {free food, office boy runs errands, bed to bunk at
night, etc.}
•
We contribute to and code open source.
