Three bantam hens shared the task of incubating a single egg together. When the egg hatched, the hens walked away, each thinking one of the others would care for the new chick. The chick was left alone until a lonely Leghorn rooster nearby took pity on it and adopted the orphaned bantam chick, caring for it like a father. The story shows how another animal can step in with fatherly love and care for a chick that had been abandoned, much like how God cares for those who trust in Him.
