This document discusses ways that children can serve God through small acts of faith, love, and obedience. It provides examples from the Bible of children who accomplished great things through trusting in God's help, including a young boy who offered his lunch to Jesus to feed a crowd, Miriam who helped protect her brother Moses as a baby, Timothy who faithfully studied God's word, and Jeremiah who found courage to speak God's messages. The document encourages children that with God's help they too can study the Bible, speak for God, be good friends, and do what is expected of them to love God and others.

1. With God’s Help Though I am small, with God’s help I can do many things. The
Bible says, “Be an example to show the believers how they
should live. Show them with your words, with the way you live,
with your love, with your faith, and with your pure life.”1
When I wonder what I can do for God, I remember that many
children and young people have done great things for God.

2. I can give to others.
A young boy who went to listen to Jesus teach offered his small lunch of fish and bread
to Jesus to help feed the crowd that had gathered. Jesus blessed the small meal, and a
miracle happened! The lunch was multiplied many times over, and it fed the crowd of over
5,000 people with bread and fish left over.2

3. I can be diligent. Miriam was given the important job of watching her baby brother Moses while he
floated in a basket on the river. She did so in order to keep him safe from those
who were trying to harm him. When the basket was taken from the river by a
princess of Egypt, Miriam offered to find someone who could help the princess
care for Moses. The result was that Moses’ own mother helped the princess
care for Moses!3

I can study God’s Word.
Timothy was a young man who was faithful to study God’s
Word. He learned a lot from God’s Word and used what he
had learned to tell others about God’s goodness and love.4

5. I can speak God’s message.

God called Jeremiah to tell his people God’s message.
At first Jeremiah was shy and did not think he could
do what God called him to do. But when he did as God
asked, Jeremiah found he was filled with courage. Jeremiah
proudly spoke God’s message throughout his life.5

I can be a good friend.
Prince Jonathan was a good friend to David. He helped
protect David, he was loyal to him during difficult times,
and he encouraged David when David was sad and
separated from his people. He believed in David and
what God promised David would become.6
