Matteo Rimini took pictures for a horror magazine cover with a small budget. Through experimenting with lighting, camera angles, and a model's body language, Rimini found that side lighting was most effective as it created a mysterious feel by only half showing the model's face. Rimini also researched professional horror magazines and decided to use a close-up image for the cover, as most covers were close-ups, and editing could make the close-up scarier than it initially seemed despite lacking body language.
