Joseph Rudyard Kipling author of the famous Jungle book was born in British India, which inspired
much of his work. He was deeply influenced with Indian culture and his work reflects that. Kipling’s
own introduction to X certainly came through his father’s encyclopaedic knowledge of Indian art.
His book entitled “Choosing the next King” shows a sacred elephant kneeling before the Prince who
was to accede. The top of the elephant’s head was covered with a cloth embroidered with asymbol.

and its usage stopped for some reason

The X is a shrine located in the Khanyar quarter in downtown area of Srinagar in Kashmir, India. The word
means tomb or a place of burial. Locals believe it to be resting place of a sufi saint.
The shrine was relatively unknown until the founder of the Ahmadiyya movement, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad,
claimed in 1899 that it is actually the tomb of Y. The shrine is first mentioned in the Waqi'at-i-Kashmir
written by a local Srinagar Sufi writer , who states that the tomb is of foreign origin . Mirza Ahmed wrote a
book advocating the view that Y did not die at the place believed by almost everyone instead he traveled to
subcontinent and died here.
BBC also released a documentary exploring the theory, as a result the place started gaining popularity among
western tourist as possible tomb of Y .

There is an important school of the Rajasthani style of Indian miniature painting that lasted
from the 17th to the end of the 19th century in the princely state ruled by Hadoti Rajputs. One
of the earliest examples of these Paintings is the Chunar Ragamala painted in 1561. These
paintings emphasized on hunting, court scenes, festivals, processions, life of nobles, lovers,
animals, birds and scenes from Lord Krishna's life and predominantly features green and blue
colour.
The Chitrashala, which is also known as the Ummed Mahal, is a living example of splendor of
these paintings. It was built in the 18th Century, and forms a set of rooms on an elevated
podium above the garden courtyard. The famous Chitra Shala provides a colourful glimpse of
history. The walls, ceiling of this palace are completely covered with paintings of this school
which are still in very good condition.

X, one of the most celebrated and widely known figures of India has earned her popularity
in a different field .But Long before she chose her career, X had made her mark in Indian
tennis. Her name would appear frequently on the national dailies of the 1960s and 70s.
Drawing inspiration from her father she picked up the tennis racquet at the age of nine. As

This very unique natural phenomenon occurred in 2001 in the southern region of India.
Though the first instance was first reported in 1896 & it has occurred several time since,
most recently in 2012.
Similar phenomena has often been seen in southern Europe for which the airborne dust
from Sahara is held liable, But due to geographical factors like location & winds, the
same reason is very much unlikely for this incidence. Considering the large sound &
flash of light that was followed by this, another hypothesis suggests that it was caused
due to a meteor blast. But a study commissioned by GOI concluded that it had been
coloured by airborne spores from a locally prolific terrestrial green algae.

The story of this unique interfaith festival at a particular place goes back to earlier 14th
century when X was in extreme sadness because of his beloved nephew’s death. One of
his famous disciples, Y, also a renowned poet-scholar, tried everything to relieve his

by and singing with a great joy, Y asked them the reason of their happiness and was
