This History Quiz was held in September 2021 and set by Rajat and Udit as part of our weekly sessions. The set was meticulously compiled and hosted by the QMs.
Quintessence is the Quizzing Society of Zakir Husain Delhi College, University of Delhi. The society has been active for 10 years and has been actively holding Intra quiz sessions and quizzes for both school and college students in the circuit.

whom many compositions have been attributed in northern regions of the Indian subcontinent.
He began his career and spent most of his adult life in the court and patronage of the king of Rewa
where X's musical abilities and studies gained widespread fame. This reputation brought him to the
attention of the Mughal Emperor Akbar, who considered him as one of the Navaratnas .Numerous
legends have been written about X, mixing facts and fiction, and the historicity of these stories is
doubtful.

Mihira Bhoja was a king belonging to the Gurjara-Pratihara Dynasty. He succeeded his
father Ramabhadra. Bhoja was a devotee of Vishnu and adopted the title of Ādivarāha

River in the South, Sutlej River in the northwest, and up to Bengal in the east.
In modern times his name is associated with a proverb which contrasts something very

36. Chandrashekar Narvekar better known as N. Chandra was a bollywood director. One day he
summons Laxmikant Pyarelal and Javed Akhtar because both of them were trying to come
up with a song for his movie. His actual idea was to have a jam session but this was quite a
struggle because it went on for weeks but still they were not able to come up with anything.
Finally, Pyarelal came up with a tune to help Javed Akhtar, Pyarelal also wrote some
dummy lyrics which he wanted Javed to replace eventually.
But instead of replacing the dummy lyrics, he actually used them to make up. Song.

They would show 10-15 minutes of footage in length. These particular storefronts had
names which comprised of 2 parts.

48. In 1912, when there was no traces of sports research and analysis. Japanese athletes
tend to have this misguided belief that sweating makes an athlete more tired. This is why
Japanese athletes refuse to drink anything before the sporting event. Shizo Kanakuri,
A marathon runner who represented Japan shared the same belief and refused to properly
hydrate on the day of the event.
Unfortunately, he started the race but collapsed while running. He was taken in by a
local family and when he woke up after recovery, he faced a difficult decision that either he
should go to to to officials and except or he travel back home while being incognito. He
chose the latter.
He silently left the country and went back home. But after not knowing about his
whereabouts, he was declared missing in Sweden. And she would remain missing in the
Swedish files for the next

58. Chika Vira Rajendra, was the ruler of Kurk(which is in present day karnataka). On 24th
April, 1834 Vira Rajendra lost his kingdom and was deposed and exiled. Before going he
asked the overthrowing ruler to adopt his daughter gauramma.
The ruler agreed and made her a princess but under different name. She was kept with
families related to the ruler. The ruler banned her from getting in contact with her father.
She tried to escape numerous times but was unable to do so.
Eventually, she gave up and got married and gave birth to a baby girl.
At age 23 she died.
