Cardanol is a renewable organic resource obtained as a byproduct from the cashew industry. The present study has been carried out with an aim to manufacture rigid polyurethanes from natural and eco – friendly sources due to the rising prices of petrochemicals and also as an environmental concern. Vegetable oil based polyurethanes promising a new generation polymers which are low cost materials in the family of polyurethanes. Cardanol based phenolic resin has been synthesized by condensing cardanol with furfural in a particular mole ratio using phthalic acid as catalyst. The progress of the reaction was monitored by determining the free furfural and free phenol content. The resin was cured by using the curing agent 4, 41 - methylene bis(cyclohexyl isocyanate) and the catalyst dibutyltin dilaurate to produce polyurethane. Polyurethanes are an important class of polymers that have found place in many applications. The physico chemical and spectral properties of resin and polyurethane have also been studied.

producing ester group with extended the arm substituted drug to
improve the hydrolysis and to prevent the steric effect of polymer
chains. Many advantages enhanced the prodrug of polymer. The
prepared polymers were characterized by FTIR, 1H –NMR
spectroscopies. Controlled drug release was studied in different
pH values at 37℃, using UV. Spectra with comparing with
calibration curve. The modification percentage test was studied, and swelling percentage was calculated and all physical properties were observed.
A variety of perfluorocycloalkenyl (PFCA) arylether monomers and polymers with enchained triarylamineunits were successfully synthesized, characterized andreported here. These polymers are highly thermally stableand show variable thermal properties. Successful conver-sion of the newly synthesized TAA enchained perfluoro-cyclopentenyl (PFCP) aryl ether polymers via formylationand EAS demonstrates the synthetic versatility of TAAmoiety and provides an excellent option for applicationspecific post polymerization reactions. The cross-linkingbehavior of PFCP aryl ether polymers was studied underdifferent reaction conditions. The combination of pro-cessability, thermal stabilities, and tailorability makes thesepolymers suitable for a wide variety of applicationsincluding electro-optics, proton exchange membranes andsuper-hydrophobic applications.

Abstract:Cotton fabric was simultaneously modified with maleic anhydride and Allium cepa and maleic anhydride and Terminalia arjuna in presence of sodium citrate as esterification catalyst and potassium peroxodisulfate as free radical polymerization catalyst using a dip-dry-iron-cure technique. Treatment of cotton with 8% maleic anhydride , 8% sodium citrate, 0.5% K2S2O8 and any of the above mentioned dyes with subsequent tumble drying at 700C followed by ironing of dried fabric at 700C and curing of ironed fabric at 1400C for 5 minutes produced most balanced improvements in respect of depth of shade, wrinkle recovery, colorfastness properties and strength. IR analysis indicated that, treatment of cotton with maleic anhydride and either of the above dyes under dual influence of esterification catalyst and free radical polymerization catalyst led to some degree of cross-linking of chains polymers of cotton.

Improved Stability of Formate Dehydrogenase by Coating with Didodecyldimethyl...researchinventy
Hydrophilic formate dehydrogenase (FDH) from candida boidinii was chemically modified by coating it with didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB). This coating changed the phase behavior of the enzyme, making it highly soluble in hydrophobic solvents and thereby offering the chance for biphasic enzyme recycling from hydrophilic substrates and products. Different coating procedures of FDH with DDAB were investigated and all proved suitable for efficient coating of the enzyme’s outer surface. A 50 mM Tris- (hydroxymethyl)-amminomethan (tris) buffer at pH 8 was chosen to make DDAB soluble and avoid aggregation. The reaction of NAD+ with uncoated and coated FDH to NADH and CO2 was monitored by UV-vis spectroscopy and kinetic parameters (rmax, Km, KI , EA) for the the FDH were determined. The coated enzyme resulted in a lower relative initial activity between 40-60% compared to the uncoated one. The stability of the coated enzyme (FDH*) was improved significantly and remained stable in long-term experiments, resulting in a deactivation rate kD smaller than 3% per day and a half-life time t1/2largerthan 23 days, while the deactivation rate of the uncoated enzyme was 260% per daywitha t1/2of 0.3 days. Both activation energies were similar, with 42 kJ mol-1 for the coated and 48 kJ mol-1 for the uncoated enzyme. This result suggests that there is not significant transport resistance originating from the DDAB coating layer. The reason for the significantly lower activity of the coated FDH probably stems from accumulation of formed CO2 in the coating layer, thereby preventing high equilibrium conversions

It is essential for a business organization to get the customer feedback in order to grow as a company. Business organizations are collecting customer feedback using various methods. But the question is ‘are they efficient and effective?’ In the current context, there is more of a customer oriented market and all the business organizations are competing to achieve customer delight through their products and services. Social Media plays a huge role in one’s life. Customers tend to reveal their true opinion about certain brands on social media rather than giving routine feedback to the producers or sellers. Because of this reason, it is identified that social media can be used as a tool to analyze customer behavior. If relevant data can be gathered from the customers’ social media feeds and if these data are analyzed properly, a clear idea to the companies what customers really think about their brand can be provided.
the effect of nickel incorporation on some physical properties of epoxy resinINFOGAIN PUBLICATION
The J-E characteristics of samples of epoxy resins mixed with nickel powder in different concentrations have been tested and a log-log straight line behaviour in both the low- and high field regions is observed. Ni-concentration has significant influence on the calculated constants of the J-E relationship. The d.c. electrical resistivity (ρ) of the samples are measured from the room temperature up to about 400 K. The variation of ρ with T obeys the exponential relation of ordinary dielectrics in three temperature regions. The parameters characterizing the ρ -T dependence change considerably with Ni-concentration. Due to the existence of nickel in different concentration a "true" compensation effect is observed with three characteristic compensation temperatures. The mechanical hardness of the samples was investigated as a function of Ni-concentration.

The Effect of Formic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxyde and Other Conditions on Epoxidiz...ijtsrd
Epoxidized vegetable oil have drawn much attention in recent yearrs, especially in the polymer industry as they are economical, available, environmentally friendly, non noxious and renewable. Cashew nut shell liquid CNSL , an agricultural by product abundantly available in tropical countries such as Vietnam, India, is one of the major and economical resources of naturally occurring phenols. Cardanol a byproduct of CNSL could be epoxidized by reacting carbon carbon double bonds of long unsaturated chain with peracids via the Prileshajev epoxidation process or the conventional process. This paper deals with the epoxidized reaction of cardanol take place in formic acid and hydrogen peroxyde. The results shown that the conversion efficiency of the epoxidized reaction reacheres 80 at 600C, stirring rates 1800 rpm, 2 p toluenesulfonic acid catalyst and rate of double bonds DB HCOOH AF H2O2 = 1.0 0.5 1.5. The product of epoxidized cardanol is also characterized by FT IR, 1H NMR and13C NMR. Inherent flame retardant polyester fibre using organophosporous compounds as ...iosrjce
Flame retardant polyester fibres have been produced using various organo-phosphorous compounds
as melt additives. To ensure proper blending at the molecular level and stability at the spinning temperatures,
four organo-phosphorous compounds with melting point lower than that of polyethylene terephthalate (PET)
and boiling point higher than the processing temperature were selected. These compounds are
triphenylphosphine oxide (TPPO), diphenylchloro phosphate (DPCP), phenyl phosphonic acid (PPA), and 2,4-
diterbutylphenyl phosphite (DTBPP). The flame retardant polyester fibres are melt spun at 80 m/min on a
laboratory melt-spinning unit and subsequently drawn-heatset. The limiting oxygen index (LOI) has been found
to be in the range 25-27 at 2.5 -10.0% loading. The effect of additives on mechanical properties of fibres has
been investigated and correlated with the structure of the fibres. The TPPO is found to be most appropriate
additive among the selected compounds for providing adequate flame retardancy with very small loss in
mechanical properties. The, flame retardant PET fibres containing 10% TPPO showed tenacity comparable to
control sample. The study suggests the possibility of developing mechanically strong flame retardant polyester
fibres using a more economical dope additive route

The polyaniline were prepared by using different inorganic and organic acids via oxidative polymerization
method. The prepared samples were characterized by FTIR, the peaks are found to be at 507 cm˗1, 592 cm˗1, 798
cm˗1, 1138 cm˗1, 1244 cm˗1, 1302 cm˗1, 1471 cm˗1 and 1556 cm˗1. These predominant peaks may be
confirming the formation of polyaniline. The structural analysis was studied by employing XRD; found that
polyaniline is amorphous in nature. The SEM studies reveal that they are agglomerated, irregular and size of
these grain increases with increasing amount of polyaniline with different organic and inorganic acids. The dc
conductivity (dc) as a function of temperature (T) for polyaniline is studied in the temperature range from 30 to
1600C. At higher temperature it is found that conductivity increases because of hopping of polarons from one
localized states to another localized states. The ac conductivity of polyaniline was prepared by oxalic acid show
high conductivity at 106 Hz. This is due to the space charge polarization and electrode polarizations.

Nanocrystalline Nickel Zinc Ferrite as an efficient alcohol sensor at room te...IJEAB
In the present communication, nanocrystalline nickel zinc ferrite (NZF) has been successfully synthesized by temperature and spin controlled coprecipitation techinique. The structural and surface morphological characterizations of the sample have been analyzed by means of Powder X-ray Diffraction (PXRD) and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM). The minimum crystalline size of prepared NZF sample calculated from Scherer’s formula and is found to be 25 nm. FESEM images exhibit the porous nature of the sensing material with a number of active sites. In a comparative study on the sensing characteristics of nanostructured NZF pellet towards three primary alcohols viz. ethanol, propanol and butanol, the maximum sensitivity is found to be nearly 90% for 1000 ppm of the ethanol vapour at room temperature. The sensing response followed the order of ethanol > propanol > butanol with respect to time. The experimental results show that nanostructured NZF is a promising material for alcohol sensor. The sensor responses are quite stable and highly reproducible even at room temperature.
Perfluorocyclopentenyl (PFCP) Aryl Ether Polymers via Polycondensation of Oct...aaaa zzzz
ABSTRACT: A unique class of aromatic ether polymers
containing perfluorocyclopentenyl (PFCP) enchainment was
prepared from the simple step growth polycondensation of
commercial bisphenols and octafluorocyclopentene (OFCP)
in the presence of triethylamine. Model studies indicate that
the second addition/elimination on OFCP is fast and poly-
condensation results in linear homopolymers and copolymers
without side products. The synthesis of bis(heptafluoro-
cyclopentenyl) aryl ether monomers and their condensation
with bisphenols further led to PFCP copolymers with alternating structures. This new class of semifluorinated polymers exhibit surprisingly high crystallinity in some cases and excellent thermal stability.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

Abstract— Cardanol is a renewable organic resource
obtained as a byproduct from the cashew industry. The
present study has been carried out with an aim to
manufacture rigid polyurethanes from natural and eco –
friendly sources due to the rising prices of petrochemicals
and also as an environmental concern. Vegetable oil
based polyurethanes promising a new generation
polymers which are low cost materials in the family of
polyurethanes. Cardanol based phenolic resin has been
synthesized by condensing cardanol with furfural in a
particular mole ratio using phthalic acid as catalyst. The
progress of the reaction was monitored by determining
the free furfural and free phenol content. The resin was
cured by using the curing agent 4, 41
- methylene
bis(cyclohexyl isocyanate) and the catalyst dibutyltin
dilaurate to produce polyurethane. Polyurethanes are an
important class of polymers that have found place in
many applications. The physico chemical and spectral
properties of resin and polyurethane have also been
studied.
Keywords— cardanol, dibutyltin dilaurate, furfural,
polyurethane, resin.
I. INTRODUCTION
Cardanol is a meta substituted alkyl phenol derived from
cashew nut shell liquid and can be regarded as a versatile
and valuable raw material for polymer production and
also it can be condensed with active hydrogen containing
compounds to yield a series of phenolic resins, for
instance base catalyzed resoles and acid catalyzed
novolacs [1-5]. Considerable attention from polymer
scientists is devoted to utilize their potential attributes as
a substitute for petrochemical derivatives and had found
use in cardanol based phenolic resins for brake linings,
surface coatings, and other miscellaneous applications [6-
8].
The synthesis of vegetable oil based polymeric materials
is having an admirable physical and chemical property
[9]. Raw materials based on vegetable oils are important
in our life because they have a number of excellent
properties for producing valuable polymers such as
polyurethanes, amides, polyesters, and epoxy resins.
There is a developing attentiveness in the improvement of
vegetable oil based polyurethane. This interest is
economically guided due to vegetable oils are which
cheap and renewable resources [10].
Polyurethanes are a unique class of polymers that have a
wide range of applications because their properties can be
readily tailored by the variations of their components
[11]. Thus polyurethanes provide a versatile range of
properties and find extensive applications especially in
the biomedical field which include synthesis of catheters
of wide range [12], pacemaker lead insulation [13],
polyurethane vascular grafts and artificial heart valves
[14].

2. 2 METHODS
2.2.1 SYNTHESIS OF CARDANOL – FURFURAL
RESIN
Cardanol – furfural resin was synthesized from cardanol
and furfural by using phthalic acid as catalyst. The
catalyst was dissolved in 10 ml methanol. Cardanol was
taken in a three neck round bottom flask and furfural was
added by drop wise to the cardanol through a dropping
funnel along with the catalyst solution. The reaction
mixture was heated under constant stirring at 1200
C. The
reaction resulted in the formation of cardanol - furfural
resin [CFR].
2.2.2 SYNTHESIS OF POLYURETHANE
Polyurethane sheets (CFRPU) were prepared by treating
cardanol- furfural resin with 4, 41
– methylene
bis(cyclohexyl isocyanate) and the catalyst dibutyltin
dilaurate were mixed physically in a small plastic cup at
room temperature. When the heat is liberated the solution
mixture was poured into a silicone oil coated flat glass
mould. The polyurethane sheets were allowed to stand at

III. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
3.1 PHYSICO CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF
CARDANOL – FURFURAL RESIN
The physico chemical properties of the cardanol and the
synthesized resins are presented in Table 1. From the
table it is clear that the resin possess mild phenolic odour.
A slight decrease in the iodine value of the resin may be
due to the steric hindrance of adjacent bulky groups to the
addition of iodine mono chloride. The specific gravity of
the resin found to be greater than cardanol. Thin layer
chromatographic study of the resin in solvent system
100% benzene (1:1 benzene) should be a distinct single
spot and the Rf value for cardanol- furfural resin was
different from that of cardanol indicating the formation of
the product.
