Draft 1
Synopsis
Narrative:
‘Drake explained the concept of the video in an interview, saying: "It's all basically the ups and downs
of a relationship but represented in icebergs and fire and animals and just pulsating movement and
then you've got me and Rihanna very intimate." This is shown first with a bull alone, a blue jay flying
through the air, a tropical fish, and a peacefully-presented landscape with snow-covered mountains,
all presented calm and relaxed. However, arrows are later shot at the bull to represent poaching,
while fire, to represent global warming and wildfire, destroys the outside landscape. The bird and fish
are also shown to be frightened, moving abruptly. The video could also be perceived as global
warming or the effect of human mistreatment, destroying the beauty of nature on its own. The video
features a shot of a figure mid-air (Drake himself), with ash falling around him. While another scene
features a tribal dancer completing a back flip through the air, among other moves. Rihanna wears a
simple tatty cardigan whilst Drake is seen in a T-shirt, to present simplicity. Throughout the video, the
pair is seen alone in some scenes, while in others they embrace each other by hugging, and with
Drake kissing Rihanna on the lips towards the end. The video concludes with a shot of smoke from
the wildfire slowly dying out’.

In a form of a group, we have decided to create a music video remake of Take Care by Rihanna
featuring drake. Our music video story line will be of a hopeless girl that has been in an abusive
relationship whom meets a new person that gets her out of her misery and hopelessness but she will
always have love for him.
Our music video will start off with, an establishing shot of the city (Oxford street being the ‘city).
Whilst the establishing shot is being taken, the main character will be spotted in the scene holding an
alcohol bottle and a cigarette in her hand. This cigarette will be a roll up which may be seen to be
drugs. As she is walking all over the place which will be shown in centre frame from her back and a
long shot, there will be flash backs of a male character waiting for his girlfriend to get back in a bed
room. This will be shown in again, an establishing shot to familiarise the audience with where he is at
then a close up shot of his actions and facial expressions of him be frustrated and angry. When his
girlfriend comes home, he grabs her and beats her to the floor then throws her and her things out of
the house.
Next, there would be more scenes of the girl walking as she has more flash backs.
The girl walks into a shop with her friend, when she bumps into what is now, her ex-boyfriend. He
manages to grab hold of her and starts to control her again when he sees her having fun. Close up
shots of her emotion changing from happy to sad is how this part will be shown. When she walks out
the shop hopelessly she is introduced by a new boy whom she hesitates to talk to. He approaches her
as she pushes him away. She breaks down in his arms as he takes care of her. She goes on a day
out with this new boy, and bumps into her ex again at the train station. Flashing images of texts, days
out, cute nights in, abusive days ext. run through her mind as she panics. X2 The new boy suddenly
put his arms around her and walks past him as he stares him deep in the eyes. They share a cute
moment and she cuddles up to him as they get on the train.
