SYNONYMS
 are words with almost the same or
similar meanings.
 a word having the same meaning as
another word in the same language in
one or more of its senses
 Synonyms can be any part of speech
(such as nouns, verbs, prepositions,
adverb, adjective), as long as both words
are the same part of speech.
NOUNS, VERBS, ADJECTIVES, ADVERBS OR
PREPOSITIONS
 Noun-a word used to name a person,
place, things, state or quality.
 Verb-any of a class of words expressing
an action performed.
 Preposition-a word expressing the
relationship between noun, pronoun, or
phrase and other element of the
sentences.
 Adverb-parts of speech which modifies or
limit a verb, an adjective or another
adverb
 Adjectives- part of speech used to
qualify, define or limit a substantive
EXAMPLES OF SENTENCES HAS SYNONYMS
The dancer has a slender figure.
The dancer has a slim figure.
Aya found the sum very difficult.
Aya found the sum very hard.

ANTONYMS
 are words with opposite or nearly
opposite meanings.
 a word which means the exact contrary
of another.
 Antonyms can be any part of speech
(such as nouns, verbs, adjectives,
adverbs or prepositions), as long as both
words are the same part of speech.
The plate is as clean as
it was before so he must
be really hungry.
The plate is dirty
because he did not wash
it.
The little girl whispered
her secret to her best
friend.
That lady shouted at the
