COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course presents comprehensive coverage of the major tourist destinations in the Philippines. Major discussions will be on political structures and subdivisions, geographical
characteristics, major attractions, gastronomy, culture, and traditions of the various regions of the country leading to the realization of the potentials of the Tourism industry of the
Philippines. Students will also have a comprehensive knowledge about the mechanism, logistics, operations, and management of the tourism network system in the Philippines
with its inherent physical and cultural resources as seen in the various provinces of the country.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
● Identify the location of regions and provinces in a blank Philippine map;
● Name and describe major attractions in each regions;
● Appreciate touristic value of major tourist destinations;
● Realize the cultural difference and similarities among the people in the Philippines; and
● Enhance their research and presentation skills.

creating a jingle about the
cultures, traditions, and tourisms

MIMAROPA. They will be divided
into two (2) groups.

● The students will have 15-20
minutes to practice the jingle that
they’ve created.
● After the practice, they will
perform it in front of the class.
● Discuss the use of “blog” where
they will include their reflections
about the lessons.

have to promote it in front of the
class.

1. Prepare a spin the wheel with

student who will be chosen to
need to pick a tourist spot on
the fish bowl.
2. After that, the teacher will flash

prepare for promoting the
tourist spot/s.
4. Then, he/she need to deliver it

LADIGNON SCHEDULE & ROOM ASSIGNMENT: FACE-TO-FACE/ASYNCHRONOUS COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course presents comprehensive coverage of the major tourist destinations in the Philippines. Major discussions will be on political structures and subdivisions, geographical characteristics, major attractions, gastronomy, culture, and traditions of the various regions of the country leading to the realization of the potentials of the Tourism industry of the Philippines. Students will also have a comprehensive knowledge about the mechanism, logistics, operations, and management of the tourism network system in the Philippines with its inherent physical and cultural resources as seen in the various provinces of the country. COURSE OBJECTIVES: ● Identify the location of regions and provinces in a blank Philippine map; ● Name and describe major attractions in each regions; ● Appreciate touristic value of major tourist destinations; ● Realize the cultural difference and similarities among the people in the Philippines; and ● Enhance their research and presentation skills.

  • 4. PHILIPPINE TOURISM, GEOGRAPHY, AND CULTURE Week 2 (3 hrs.) February 26, 2024 – March 2, 2024 UNIT 1: OVERVIEW OF PHILIPPINE TOURISM 1.1. What is tourism? 1.2. Why do people travel? 1.3. Domestic vs. International Tourism. 1.4. Philippine Regions The students shall be able to:  Develop a full understanding about the definition of tourism;  Find out the reasons why people travel; and  Discuss and differentiate the domestic and international tourisms. DAY 1 ● Interactive discussion about the definition of “TOURISM”. ● Think, pair, and share about the differences between “Domestic tourism vs. International tourism”. The students will be graded based on the given rubric: RUBRIC: Accuracy – 10 Creativity – 10 Delivery – 10 TOTAL – 30 DAY 2 ● Review of the last session’s topic. ● Sharing of insights about the reasons why people love to travel. ● Recite the Philippine regions in front of the class.
  • 5. PHILIPPINE TOURISM, GEOGRAPHY, AND CULTURE Week 3 (3 hrs.) March 4 – March 9, 2024 UNIT 1: OVERVIEW OF PHILIPPINE TOURISM 1.5. Philippine tourism and culture 1.6. Types of Domestic tourism in the Philippines The students shall be able to:  Develop a full understanding about the Philippine tourism and its culture;  Show appreciation of Philippine tourism and culture; and  Find out the types of domestic tourism in the Philippines. DAY 1  Interactive discussion about Philippine tourism and culture  Using a “round robin” the students will share their insights about the tourism and culture of the Philippines. DAY 2  Review of the previous discussion about the Philippine tourism and culture.  Continuation of discussion about types of domestic tourist in the Philippines.
  • 6. PHILIPPINE TOURISM, GEOGRAPHY, AND CULTURE Week 4 (March 11, 2024 - March 16, 2024) UNIT 2: SWOT ANALYSIS OF THE PHILIPPINE DESTINATION 2.1. Definition of SWOT Analysis 2.2. Importance of SWOT Analysis of Philippine Tourism The students shall be able to: • Give definition of SWOT analysis; • Develop a full understanding about the importance of SWOT analysis in different Philippine tourist destinations; • Find out the strengths and weaknesses of different Philippine tourist destinations using SWOT analysis; and • Create their own SWOT analysis using “infographics”. DAY 1 ● Interactive discussion about SWOT Analysis. ● Using a “graphic organizer” the students will give 5 words that they can connect to SWOT analysis. DAY 2  Review of previous discussion.  Give examples of SWOT analysis of the Philippine tourism.
  • 7. PHILIPPINE TOURISM, GEOGRAPHY, AND CULTURE Weeks 5 (3 hrs.) March 18, 2024 – March 23, 2024 UNIT 3: PHILIPPINE REGIONS 1.1. Region 1 (Ilocos Region) 1.2. Region 2 (Cagayan Valley Region) 1.3. Region 3 (Central Luzon) The students shall be able to: • Familiarize themselves about the geographic locations and tourist attractions in regions 1, 2, and 3; • Appreciate the beauty of tourist attractions in regions 2; and • Compare and contrast the regions about their cultures, attractions, geography, and cuisines. DAY 1 ● Interactive discussion about regions 1, 2, and 3 DAY 2 ● Review of the last session’s topic ● Give the directions for their group activity which is “infomercial. ● Start brainstorming. Weeks 6 (3 hrs.) March 25, 2024 – March 29, 2024 GRADED RECITATION DAY 1  The students will have a “graded recitation with a twist”. DAY 2  Continuation of graded recitation.
  • 8. PHILIPPINE TOURISM, GEOGRAPHY, AND CULTURE MIDTERM PERIOD WEEKS & NUMBER OF HOURS TOPICS COMPETENCIES DETAILED ACTIVITIES Week 7 (3 hrs.) April 1, 2024 – April 6, 2024 UNIT 3: PHILIPPINE REGIONS 3.4. CALABARZON 3.5. MIMAROPA The students shall be able to: • Appreciate the importance of travel, tourism, and hospitality and its relevance to the 21st century; and • Identify tourist attractions and understand the vital role of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats with relevance to respective regions. DAY 1 ● Interactive discussion about CALABARZON and MIMAROPA. ● Explain the group activity which is creating a jingle about the cultures, traditions, and tourisms in CALABARZON and MIMAROPA. They will be divided into two (2) groups. DAY 2 ● Review of the last session’s topic ● The students will have 15-20 minutes to practice the jingle that they’ve created. ● After the practice, they will perform it in front of the class. ● Discuss the use of “blog” where they will include their reflections about the lessons.
  • 9. PHILIPPINE TOURISM, GEOGRAPHY, AND CULTURE Week 8 (3 hrs.) April 8, 2024 – April 13, 2024 UNIT 3: PHILIPPINE REGIONS 3.6. Bicol Region 3.7. Western Visayas 3.8. Central Visayas The students shall be able to: • Appreciate the importance of travel, tourism, and hospitality and its relevance to the 21st century; and • Identify tourist attractions and understand the vital role of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats with relevance to respective regions. DAY 1 ● Interactive discussion about Bicol region, Western Visayas, and Central Visayas ● Give assignment which will be pass next meeting. DAY 2 ● Review of the last session’s topic ● The students need to bring their chosen tourist spots either in Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and Central Visayas. Then, they have to promote it in front of the class.
  • 10. PHILIPPINE TOURISM, GEOGRAPHY, AND CULTURE Week 9 (3 hrs.) April 15, 2024 – April 20, 2024 UNIT 3: PHILIPPINE REGIONS 3.9. Eastern Visayas 3.10. Zamboanga Peninsula 3.11. Northern Mindanao The students shall be able to: • Appreciate the importance of travel, tourism, and hospitality and its relevance to the 21st century; and • Identify tourist attractions and understand the vital role of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats with relevance to respective regions. DAY 1  Interactive discussion of the lesson  Short quiz about the discussion  Give directions about the group activity next meeting. DAY 2  Review of the last session’s topic  The students will be divided into 3 groups on which they will come up on a short skit that shows the best practices of the regions discussed last meeting.
  • 11. PHILIPPINE TOURISM, GEOGRAPHY, AND CULTURE Week 10 (3 hrs.) April 22, 2024 – April 27, 2024 UNIT 3: PHILIPPINE REGIONS 3.12. Davao Region 3.13. SOCCKSARGEN 3.14. CARAGA The students shall be able to: • Appreciate the importance of travel, tourism, and hospitality and its relevance to the 21st century; and • Identify tourist attractions and understand the vital role of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats with relevance to respective regions. DAY 1  Interactive discussion of the lesson.  “Quiz with a twist” about the lesson.  Give directions of the activity next meeting DAY 2  Review of the last session’s topic  Impromptu promotion of tourist spots 1. Prepare a spin the wheel with the name of the students. The student who will be chosen to need to pick a tourist spot on the fish bowl. 2. After that, the teacher will flash the picture of the tourist spot on the screen. 3. Student has 2 minutes to prepare for promoting the tourist spot/s. 4. Then, he/she need to deliver it in front the class. The medium will be English.

ARMM The students shall be able to: • Appreciate the importance of travel, tourism, and hospitality and its relevance to the 21st century; and • Identify tourist attractions and understand the vital role of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats with relevance to respective regions.
