• The capital of Sweden is called

• Sweden is a monarchy, so we
have a royal family who lives in
Stockholm, but it is not the king
that governs, no, Sweden is
governed by democracy, by the
government and our prime
minister, Stefan Löfven.

Vättern. Vänern is the
biggest one and Vättern is
the deepest and they are
placed pretty near each
other in the middle of
Sweden.
Some Swedish traditions
• In Sweden we celebrate Christmas the 24th of December, not
the 25th like most of the other countries which also celebrate
Christmas
• In the summer, we have a tradition called Midsummer. Then
we eat a lot of typical Swedish food, and after that it’s a
tradition to dance around the midsummer pole while we sing
songs like “små grodorna” (You should look it up on youtube).
We celebrate midsummer because midsummer night is the
shortest night of the year, which means that the sun never
really goes down.
The Swedish nature
• In Sweden we have a lot of forest. Especially in the north part
of the country. Sweden has a beautiful nature and there’s a lot
of fantastic places to visit, like our biggest mountain,
“Kebnekaise”. It’s placed in the north of Sweden where we
actually have a lot of mountains, which we, in the winter, go
to for some skiiing.
