This document provides an overview of swarm robotics, a decentralized multi-robotic system that collectively accomplishes complex tasks through the coordination of large numbers of simple robots. It discusses the benefits, applications, challenges, and fundamental characteristics of swarm robotics, highlighting its potential in various fields, including search and rescue, agriculture, and military operations. Despite its promise, the adoption of swarm robotics is hindered by challenges such as miniaturization, cost, and fault tolerance.
