This document provides an executive summary of a report on accelerating the transition to a circular economy. It outlines the limits of the current linear "take-make-dispose" economic model, including rising resource prices and volatility. The summary then describes the circular economy as a restorative system that eliminates waste and keeps resources in use for longer. Case studies estimate the potential annual net material cost savings from adopting circular models in EU manufacturing to be $380-630 billion by designing products for reuse, remanufacturing, and recyclability. The report analyzes examples of circular products and sectors to understand how circular models generate economic benefits and argues for mainstreaming circular approaches.

Portugal has high potential for green growth due to abundant renewable energy resources but remains highly energy dependent with a large energy intensity GDP. It has developed infrastructure for water and sanitation but faces issues like high losses in water systems. Coastal areas are economically important but suffer from artificial surfaces and erosion. Green growth strategies aim to realize Portugal's potential while addressing constraints like waste management challenges. Harnessing renewable resources through investment could help drive green jobs and economic growth.

This paper investigates the impact of human capital development life expectancy and labor productivity , energy usage, and environmental factors carbon dioxide emissions on the per capita economic sustainable development in Malaysia. We employed the adjusted net savings per capita World Bank to represent the economically sustainable development path in Malaysia. With the assumptions of possible structural breaks along the years of between 1971, and 2013, the Zivot Andrews unit root test was performed on all of the variables concerned. Following the bounds test method, we proposed the auto regressive distributed lag ARDL model for the per capita sustainable development path in Malaysia based on the impact of human capital development and environmental factors. We found that life expectancy, carbon emissions and energy usage have mixed significant effects on adjusted net savings per capita in both the short run and long run in Malaysia. This document introduces the Value Driver Model as a tool for companies to communicate the business value of sustainability to investors. The model focuses on measuring the impact of sustainability on three key value drivers: 1) Sustainability-advantaged growth (S/G), which measures revenue from sustainable products/services. 2) Sustainability-driven productivity (S/P), which measures cost savings from sustainability initiatives. 3) Sustainability-related risk management (S/R), which measures performance on sustainability risks. The goal is to quantify how sustainable business strategies impact financial results like revenues and costs. Case studies show some companies already using this approach successfully.
Ellen mac arthur foundation towards the circular economy vol.1Glenn Klith Andersen
This report outlines the economic opportunity of transitioning from a linear "take-make-dispose" economy to a circular economy where resources are reused and waste is designed out. It finds that adopting circular business models could result in annual net material cost savings of $380-630 billion for EU manufacturing sectors by 2025. Case studies show companies can benefit from designing products for disassembly, reuse, remanufacturing and recycling to reduce costs while increasing value creation. The report argues the circular economy presents a solution to risks of resource scarcity and volatility, and a way for businesses to decouple revenues from material inputs through more sustainable models.

The document outlines the AK model of economic growth proposed by Frankel in 1962 and evaluates its relevance to developing countries like Zimbabwe. The AK model emphasizes capital accumulation and assumes technological progress occurs endogenously through learning by doing. It predicts capital accumulation will increase productivity and growth. The model is relevant for developing countries in promoting industrialization and reducing unemployment. However, it may fail to achieve desired results as it does not consider other important factors like political stability and strong institutions. It is also too general and does not provide specific policy prescriptions tailored to individual country contexts.
This document provides a summary of a research paper on sustainability reporting in the context of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Kenya. The paper aims to conceptualize how SMEs can integrate sustainable development goals into their operations based on empirical evidence. It first reviews literature on sustainable development goals and constraints faced by SMEs, such as access to funding, limited information, and high compliance costs. It then proposes a theoretical model to show interactions between business activities, sustainability agendas, and financial performance, in order to progress knowledge and guide further research. The paper argues that meaningful engagement by SMEs requires understanding how sustainability relates to both business and financial outcomes based on real data.

The empirical analysis finds that economic growth Granger causes domestic savings in the long run. Additionally, foreign direct investment does not cause economic growth in either the short or long run, and tends to reduce domestic savings in the long run.

1) The paper presents a probability analysis of slope stability using the Monte Carlo simulation method to account for uncertainty in parameters like pore water pressure, cohesion, and internal angle of friction.
2) The results of the Monte Carlo simulation method are compared to other recognized methods of slope stability analysis like Bishop simplified, Fellenuis, Janbu simplified and corrected, Spencer and Lowe-Karafiath which use limit equilibrium.
3) The probability analysis finds that the failure probability is most affected by the standard deviation of pore water pressure, cohesion, internal angle of friction, and correlation coefficient between parameters, though individual limit equilibrium methods only account for one of these parameters in each analysis.
This document summarizes an abstract from the 9th International Scientific Conference on Applied Sciences and Engineering. The abstract discusses some biochemical markers that can predict pre-eclampsia. It states that tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) directly damages vascular endothelial cells and increases endothelial permeability, which may result in secretion of vasoactive substances and increased vascular permeability and coagulation. This involvement of TNF-α in the pathogenesis of pre-eclampsia means it may identify patients at high risk for the condition and serve as a marker of severity. Preeclamptic women also have abnormal lipid metabolism and profiles due to pre-eclampsia, and this alteration in lipid metabolism may play a key role in developing symptoms.

THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.
How to Manage Reception Report in Odoo 17Celine George
A business may deal with both sales and purchases occasionally. They buy things from vendors and then sell them to their customers. Such dealings can be confusing at times. Because multiple clients may inquire about the same product at the same time, after purchasing those products, customers must be assigned to them. Odoo has a tool called Reception Report that can be used to complete this assignment. By enabling this, a reception report comes automatically after confirming a receipt, from which we can assign products to orders.
