SDG 17 in context of Nepal:
• The socio-economic shock of COVID-19 has caused unprecedented
disruption in transportation, service sector, tourism, hospitality
industry, revenue, and remittances.
• SDGs have been integrated in the Sub-National Governments'
periodic plans with effective monitoring and evaluation guidelines.
• Partner-ships are being strengthened with the private sector,
cooperatives, civil society, development partners and the
international community to meet the large capacity building needs.

Challenges:
• Trade wars
• Bellicose rhetoric and the deliberate erosion of international
institutions
• Coronavirus crisis
• Wide ranging and explicit targets aimed at governments and civil
society
Conclusion:
• SDG 17 is perhaps the most important and most versatile of the UN’s
Sustainable Development Goals, as it focuses on the means by which to
achieve the other goals listed.
• Stepping up for the collaboration and partnerships for a revival of
multilateralism is the best route for tackling both the pandemic and the
still ongoing climate crisis.
• There is also a call to improve access to science, technology and
innovation, with a particular focus on “environmentally sound
technologies” that can help developing countries build capacity to
implement the SDGs.
• Nepal also needs technological support including smart technology
for small-scale agro-based entrepreneurs and low carbon emission
engineering for its industries.

  • 17. Challenges: • Trade wars • Bellicose rhetoric and the deliberate erosion of international institutions • Coronavirus crisis • Wide ranging and explicit targets aimed at governments and civil society
  • 18. Conclusion: • SDG 17 is perhaps the most important and most versatile of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, as it focuses on the means by which to achieve the other goals listed. • Stepping up for the collaboration and partnerships for a revival of multilateralism is the best route for tackling both the pandemic and the still ongoing climate crisis. • There is also a call to improve access to science, technology and innovation, with a particular focus on “environmentally sound technologies” that can help developing countries build capacity to implement the SDGs. • Nepal also needs technological support including smart technology for small-scale agro-based entrepreneurs and low carbon emission engineering for its industries.
